Chapter 239 Meeting

Truthfully, Xiang Ning was also very nervous. Fang Hao must have told his dad, a tier seven martial artist, about his relationship with Fang Rou. But sooner or later he would need to meet with her father, regardless of the circumstance. Better now than never. It won’t be too bad, right?

He changed into the casual clothes he usually wore and bid his sister farewell before riding the Windbreaker to the city's opposite end. After some time, he arrived in the suburbs where Fang Rou’s house was located. Unlike his place, the houses in the area had state-of-the-art security systems and most of the houses were mansions. Even the guests required an invitation to enter the estate.

On the way there, Xiang Ning had bought some fruit as a gift. It was a safe bet, considering that Fang Rou probably already had many other expensive items in her house.

Twenty minutes later, he arrived in front of the gate. The guard let him in after confirming his identity and invitation. Once inside, Xiang Ning noted that it was clear that Fang Rou’s family was different from the rest. The road of the estate was wide and the trees were properly pruned. It was a stark difference from the suburb he lived in. He only paid a little attention to the surroundings before he was plunged into his thoughts once again. Ever since he had passed through the gates he’d been thinking about how he should introduce himself.

Soon, he arrived at a villa.

The villa was small but intricate; the designs were truly elegant. The moment he got off the Windbreaker, he heard a click as a parking space emerged from the ground for the bike. Xiang Ning stared at it in disbelief as Fang Hao chuckled in amusement through the intercom.

“Park over there and come on in,” Fang Hao’s voice rang from the intercom.

Xiang Ning did exactly that and stood in front of the wooden door. He nervously arranged his clothes and held the fruit basket. Just as he was about to knock, the doorknob turned and the door opened.

It was Fang Rou. Xiang Ning felt slight relief as he saw her face. He scanned her from top to bottom. She was wearing a simple black shirt and a white skirt, her long legs covered in white leggings. She had her hands behind her back as she flashed a cute smile at him. Xiang Ning was stunned by her beauty.

“Hey, why are you still standing there? Come on in.” Fang Hao suddenly appeared behind her, still wearing his large watch, as he looked at him with scrutiny. How dare he look at my sister like that. He’s already in our house, yet he still doesn’t know how to hold himself back.

“Ah? Oh, alright, alright... thank you for your hospitality then, brother Fang! Here’s a fruit basket!” Xiang Ning stammered.

Fang Hao couldn’t help but smile at the bumbling fool. “Sigh, just get in.”

Xiang Ning nodded and Fang Rou took the fruit basket into the kitchen.

“Brother, bring him to the hall first. I’ll bring the fruit up later,” Fang Rou said.

“Xiang Ning, please follow my brother to the hall, I’ll be there soon.” Fang Rou's face was red as her eyes nervously flickered.

Xiang Ning relaxed even more knowing that he wasn’t the only one that was nervous. Yeah, why should I be nervous? Since Fang Rou had chosen me, I should be responsible for it too.

Soon, they arrived at the hall. He had expected a grandiose room, but the hall was minimalistic, mainly decorated in black and white with a simple but comfortable atmosphere. The furniture was also deliberately chosen so that guests would feel relaxed in the hall. A middle-aged man with bronze skin was seated on the sofa. His aura was like an unsheathed sword that pressured everyone nearby. Was this the capability of a tier seven martial artist?

Xiang Ning had never seen a tier seven martial artist in action before, but he knew that he was completely suppressed just by the aura itself.

“Hmm, come little hero, sit down.” Fang Zhenyuan’s voice was deep and commanding, capable of making even the toughest men obey him. Xiang Ning instantly felt that he was completely naked in front of his eyes.

So is this how it feels to be completely exposed by Keen Observation? He felt naked. This was the terrifying aspect of facing off against a tier seven martial artist. Even without special techniques, the gaze of a tier seven martial artist was sufficient to unnerve opponents and expose weaknesses.

Still, there was no reason for Fang Zhenyuan to harm him. He politely sat down on the opposite sofa as Fang Hao sat beside his father.

“Hello, I’m Xiang Ning, a classmate of Fang Rou’s. Thank you for all the help I’ve received.” Xiang Ning repeated what he had been practicing in his head this entire time. It was both respectful and diplomatic.

Fang Hao grinned. Little rascal, to think that you’d become so polite the moment you’re in front of my father while you’re so casual in front of me. What a fox!

Fang Zhenyuan smiled, too. “Good, good, but Fang Rou might be upset if you said that you’re only her classmate. I’ve been paying close attention to you for a while now, and I should be the one thanking you. If it weren’t for you, I might’ve lost both of my children.” He bowed slightly.

Xiang Ning was flustered because a tier seven martial artist was bowing to him!

“In the Thunder Dojo, I’m the master, but here in this house I’m just the father of my two children. I’m a normal person, no need to be so formal with me. I also won’t butt in on the relationships of my children.”

Xiang Ning nodded as the image of Fang Zhenyuan gradually changed in his mind. The three of them talked about mundane topics as the atmosphere mellowed out. Fang Rou finally appeared with a fruit platter.

She was just about to sit beside her father when he opened his mouth and said, “Oh? Why’re you sitting here? Go sit beside him. He risked his life in the wilderness just for you. Go ahead and properly thank him.”

Fang Hao had known that his father was going to say that, but Fang Rou was taken aback. She hadn’t anticipated it. Her face turned red in an instant as Xiang Ning shot up in surprise. His face was almost as red as hers.

Fang Hao stifled his laughter and almost took out his phone to take a photo. It was rare to see Xiang Ning flustered like this.

“Uh… sure.” Xiang Ning saw that Fang Rou was still embarrassed and awkwardly stood. Without thinking, he took her hand and pulled her down beside him. They were just like newlyweds.

Fang Hao was enjoying the moment, but was surprised to see that Xiang Ning was this bold.
