After hearing Xiang Ning out, Lei Zhongyuan didn’t say anything further. Xiang Ning also hadn’t told him about his encounter with the Seven Deadly Sins within Hang City. Still, he didn’t feel relieved.
“Instructor Lei, how much longer until we move to the battlefield?”
“We still need a bit more time, at least thirty hours or more. The railway at the outermost perimeter is infested with monsters. While they aren’t damaging it, we can’t ensure that a Beast King won’t launch an attack when the train arrives. We’d be wiped out if such a beast were to arrive.” Lei Zhongyuan sighed. He was just one step away from tier seven. Naturally, he knew how strong they were.
Xiang Ning nodded. Once everything had been settled, he went to bed straight away. The next morning, he woke up the earliest. Thanks to the supper, everyone else went to bed later, so he was the only one awake right now. He silently snuck out once again.
This time he was caught unaware. When he walked out, his relaxed face was frozen in fear.
He saw Lei Zhongyuan standing in front of the exit as he smiled at him. “Good morning, where do you think you are going?”
“Good morning Instructor Lei, I’m here for some fresh air. Why’re you up too?”
“I’m used to it. Come and train with me. It’s been a while and my joints aren’t what they used to be.” Lei Zhongyuan laughed like a butcher eyeing a chicken.
“I’m still hurt from yesterday, so I can’t really fight today. What if—” He didn’t even finish his sentence before Lei Zhongyuan lunged and threw him by his shirt collar.
Xiang Ning shouted in shock as he activated Keen Observation. “Instructor! This is unfair!”
“Wait! Don’t hit my face!”
“Don’t force me, instructor!”
Xiang Ning was beaten like a sandbag. His Keen Observation kept failing, so he had no choice but to accept the beating. He finally roared in victory when it succeeded. “Instructor Lei, I’m forced to fight back now!”
“Come on then. I feel like I’m fighting a kid. It’s more interesting if you fight back!” Lei Zhongyuan scoffed.
“Shit! That’s too much! Since you don’t feel like hitting me, then why are you doing it in the first place? Just wait! Once I get stronger I’ll repay your ‘kindness’!” Xiang Ning was indignant about being bullied.
Lei Zhongyuan laughed at his reply and launched another attack.
After six or seven rounds, his smile disappeared. Damn, he really got stronger. To be able to block me and counterattack. His strength would be unimaginable if he became as strong as me! Still, might as well continue hitting him since I’ve already started. The future is still uncertain.
Three minutes later, Xiang Ning was plastered against the wall, unable to move even a single muscle. “I give up. Just hit me.” He had never seen a tier six martial artist bully a tier four!

“Meh, it’s fine. I’m sweating now. I might as well take a shower before heading back to bed.” Lei Zhongyuan laughed as he entered the hostel. Xiang Ning stood there as he finally processed that Lei Zhongyuan approved him heading out.
He quickly stood up, his fatigue disappearing, and excitedly ran out. He needed to investigate where the Seven Deadly Sins were. It wasn’t like he wanted to rat them out, because not even the experts in Hang City would be able to suppress them.
He ran in the direction of the alleyway and looked up into the sky. The feeling he had yesterday wasn’t as strong as it was today.
He arrived at the alley and decided not to enter the sewer, but just stand on the opposite street and observe. The disguised chip had yet to be retrieved.
It was three minutes past six in the morning.
As he chomped on the dumplings he bought, a man in a suit appeared from the corner. He was holding a laptop bag and shouting into his phone. He came to the alley and kicked the corner of the wall, then even went so far as to throw his bag against it. He looked like he had just been laid off. Coincidentally, the disguised chip fell out of the crack. He bent down to pick up his bag and the chip disappeared.
Bingo. Xiang Ning smiled as he swallowed the dumpling and followed the man. He activated his Disguise and changed his appearance after passing three people.
After ten minutes or so, the man finally fell silent and increased his speed. He entered the subway. There were too many people there, so Xiang Ning could follow him closer and even directly into the subway car. They traveled for a long time, so much so that Xiang Ning didn’t even know where he was. He was only certain that they were heading to the central part of the city. To think that they were staying near the border! He felt like they had entered another world as he saw the ancient heritage buildings and giant lake.
No wonder Hang City was a land of geniuses. He sighed as he saw the man walk into a government office. He confirmed that the logo he had seen on the chip matched the one outside the building.
Xiang Ning wanted to enter, because he finally found the source of his unease. It was just inside! He was curious what the thing that could even influence him all the way on the border was.
He examined his surroundings, then smiled. Five minutes later, he was wearing janitor’s clothes as he entered the building. He didn’t even bother admiring the building, as he was focused on finding the source of his unease.
He entered the elevator with a mop and a bucket. He pressed his hat down as the young employees were discussing something. Just as he arrived at the floor where his sense of unease was strongest, a woman walked out in front of him. She flashed a beautiful smile as she saw him.
Xiang Ning smiled back at her. He was already in here, why does he have to be afraid?
“You’re so young. Why aren’t you studying?”
“I am, but I’m also working part-time to earn some money.”
“I see, then follow me and clean up my office.”
Xiang Ning wanted to reject her, but suddenly felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up. He felt something dangerous behind him.
The woman bowed toward the figure behind him and said, “Good morning, vice city lord.”
Xiang Ning also turned around and bowed. He didn’t dare to look at his face.
