Bo Yan knew Xiang Ning didn’t really like him, but he needed to talk to Xiang Ning about something. “Are the people from Jerry Constructions troubling you?’ Bo Yan looked at the boy in front of him with a warm, gentle gaze. In public, he was an iron-blooded tier eight master, but in front of Xiang Ning, all that was left was a quiet love an older man had for a child. He felt very sorry for what he had done to the boy.
As for why he asked if Jerry Constructions was troubling Xiang Ning, and not the other way around, Bo Yan had read up about him and realized that he had suffered through a tough life. Thankfully, his hardships had passed, but a child like that would never voluntarily bother other people.
“Jerry Constructions?” Xiang Ning stopped to think. “I don’t know, who are they again?” He had truly forgotten. It was a week after the incident with the Dancing Dragon Guild and he had only fought Zhao Youlong, not people from Jerry Constructions.
Bo Yan was stunned. “Today, a manager from Jerry Constructions came to meet me. He said a person called Xiang Ning wasn’t behaving well and took something that belonged to them?”

“So what’d you say?” Xiang Ning didn’t care, and asked a somewhat irrelevant question.
“I told him to get out.” Bo Yan grinned.
“So you wanted to meet me to talk about that?” Xiang Ning didn’t care; in fact, he was trying to redirect the conversation to ask about the ruins.
Bo Yan’s brows slightly furrowed when he heard the question, and he said in a gently chiding tone, “Jerry Constructions is a member of the JQ Business Alliance, and it's also one of the more influential members. Coincidentally, the young master of the company is coming to Kunlun City to make some business investments, and while Zhao Youlong is quite useless in everything else, he’s actually got a good business sense. I don’t know what specifically happened, but all I can say is be careful.”
Although that was what Bo Yan said, there was an underlying message in his countenance: don’t be afraid. If they ever touch you, they’ll be dead.
Xiang Ning instantly felt a rush of warmth he had never felt in his life, though he quickly suppressed it and turned his head away. “Mm, I understand.”
Although Bo Yan picked up his cup of tea, his eyes glanced at Xiang Ning sideways, feeling delighted in seeing the boy react that way. “Oh, right, there’s Jerry Constructions staff members involved in the ruins investigations, too. I hope you won’t have any conflicts with them.”
Xiang Ning nodded. As he tried to form words to express his gratitude for Bo Yan’s concern, Bo Yan continued, “I’m afraid they’re not going to hold up against one hit from you. And if they die, it’ll be very inconvenient.”
Xiang Ning chuckled. It sounded like Xiang Ning’s life would be difficult if something bothered the young master of Jerry Constructions.
Five minutes later, as Bo Yan watched Xiang Ning leave, his warm smile turned solemn. He muttered to himself, “Xiang Ning, the evils of this world aren’t as simple as you think. The growth you desire isn’t going to come easy.” He hadn’t told Xiang Ning how psychotic the young master actually was. He held an extremely high position in Jerry Constructions and was called a prodigy, also the future head of the company. But he had a strange, perverted hobby: hunting.
He didn’t hunt beasts. He hunted… people.
The young master of Jerry Constructions was surely going to put a target on Xiang Ning’s back. If Bo Yan took action, although he couldn’t do much to the young master, at least Bo Yan could guarantee that Xiang Ning would be safe. But there was no need to protect Xiang Ning, and Bo Yan didn’t like the young master anyway.
On the other end, Xiang Ning was stopped when he was just about to walk out of the Hunters Guild.

“Who are you?” Xiang Ning didn’t beat around the bush.
“Let me introduce myself. My name is Jerry Walker.” He was a gorgeous young man with blond hair and blue eyes, his handsome looks attracting the attention of many young girls. His features were the kind that people said was gifted by God himself.
“There’s a very bad smell coming from your body.” Xiang Ning frowned, looking at the man. He admitted that he was jealous of the man’s handsome looks, though he wasn’t gay. As for the bad smell, it wasn’t a fart. There was just a disgusting quality about the man that he found odd. And from the arrogant airs, Xiang Ning realized that he was similar to the Seven Deadly Sins, but not exactly.
“Oh, I think you’re just not used to smelling the world’s highest-quality perfume,” Jerry Walker scoffed in English.
Although Xiang Ning could understand, he replied, “Please speak in Chinese.”
Xiang Ning was about to say something, but Jerry Walker gave a small smile and mused, “I don’t think you’ve forgotten about the incident with Zhao Youlong, have you? Although I hate to admit it, he really is my dog. And you Easterners have a good saying for that: when you hit a dog, you must first ask its owner.”
“Oh, and?”
“Don’t you have anything to say?”
Xiang Ning raised his eyebrows, thought for a moment, then solemnly looked at him. “Your Chinese isn’t fluent.”

A vein popped from Jerry Walker’s forehead as he glared at Xiang Ning. “Don’t treat me like an idiot. That imbecile, Zhao Youlong, couldn’t find out much about you but I could. You may think you’ve accomplished big things, but to me, they’re just small achievements. You think I’ll be cautious of you, you think your status is so high that you needn’t respect me, but… what I want to say is—”
Before Jerry finished, Xiang Ning lifted up a hand and cut him off. “I know, I know. I understand how you feel. I keep a low-profile, but I’ve got excellent achievements and that often attracts jealousy. But don’t worry, as long as you work hard, you can catch up to my current cultivation in fifty years.”
“I—”
“Alright, I know what you’re going to say. If you say anymore, it’ll get annoying. And… I’m trying to buy something. There’s a sale going on and you’re in my way.” Xiang Ning placed a finger on his lips, glanced at the time, then politely looked at the person. The strength of his aura suddenly spiked as he turned and walked away.
Jerry initially wanted to say something but shut his mouth, not out of fear, but because he thought of something more fun.
“Young master, do you need us to dispatch a few men to bring him to you?”
“There’s no need. I want to take my time playing with him. I can feel it already. Slot C in my specimen collection is meant for him.”
The bodyguard felt a chill down his spine.
