Chapter 17: The real Academy, part 1 (16)

          Laetitia’s POV

          About a day had passed since the whole meeting with the King thing. The Academy was about a 20 minute drive from the castle and we had set up all the stuff for my stay in the dorms. Kevin had left. Marthon had stayed behind and was now wearing a mask to hide himself.

          Turn’s out he was the 5^th son of my father’s neighboring county. Marthon Cranis the 5^th was his full name. now he was supposed to have sworn fealty to me. Though, part of me finds it weird to have people swearing things to you, like their lives.

          The academy was huge. The spires that spoiled into the sky in swirls supported by metal and rope tethers. Like an antenna, they stuck out skyward. The whole thing looked gorgeous.

          “Are you ready ma’am?” asked Marthon.

          “Yes, I am ready to go to class and learn all there is about how this government works,” I responded.

          “Hm, that’s a strange thing to say,” he responded.

          “When does class start?” asked Amelia.

          “In about five minutes,” I said.

          Then someone knocked on the door of the dorm room I was supposed to have all by myself. Each person had one to themselves, it wasn’t just me.

          “come in,” I said thinking it to be maybe my neighbor next door. But it wasn’t. instead, a girl in a school uniform that looked exquisitely made was standing in front of me.

          She had jet black hair, purple eyes which was fairly-rare but not impossible, and seemed to be my age. She was cute I would give her that, but something stood out to me.

          She had the aura of a royal. The air seemed to shimmer as she stepped inside the room with a maid behind her. The school uniform was a simple skirt that went to her knees and a shirt that gave a feeling of learnedness.

          And then she asked me a question that I wasn’t expecting:

          “Nice to finally make your acquaintance. I am princess Proserpinae, 13^th daughter of the king Alldorax.”
