When I saw a bunch of people approach, I tried to freeze, and wait. The people here are not too observant, so I always went unnoticed.
‘Pom’
Suddenly, a pebble hit a rock near me. One of the people noticed me, and I immediately hurried to a side tunnel I could use to escape.
“Tara na fir outsen?!” I immediately felt like my heart sunk into my heels, and I tried to crawl into the tunnel.
The problem is: I still couldn’t fit in…
I heard that the people were approaching, and I started pushing myself in, despite pain I felt.
With a lot of effort and pain, I crawled into the hole, and hid.
As soon as I got inside, three men entered the side tunnel I lurked in. They looked around, and walked away.
Before any more show up, I crawled deeper.
I was feeling like there should be an exit to this tunnel, so I continued moving, until I hit a fork.
The paths separated: one was leading up, and the other one down. I had no idea if there would be exit at the lower one, and I did not exactly like the possibility of becoming the first xenomorph to die from getting stuck at a dead end.
But then I also remembered that I did not even encounter any rats for a while.
It was decided, that it is better to try my luck and find some food, than keep crawling through the same tunnels I explored. I lost my sense of time long ago, so I had no idea how much time it took me to crawl out into a wide tunnel.
I found myself in a cave-like tunnels. Unlike the previous ones, the caves were not just parts of crumbled tunnel network, but actually paths made through rock.
The moment I got out of the hole, I started exploring and searching for food.
I quickly realized, that I found a Klondike. There were rats everywhere. Absolutely everywhere.
Also there were humans everywhere…
“… and he said: ‘find me that tablet today’.”
“Just whom did he imagine himself to be? He ain’t a boss to order us around like that.”
“You tell him! We’d be both hung, should we disobey…”
“That’s what I tell you! Wait…! I saw something!” A man looked around the tunnels, but this time he could see nothing.
Still, he had a feeling that there was something.

“What the f* is that…?” The other man brushed away a liquid that fell on him from the ceiling.
“S*, is there another aquifer here?”
“N-no… It… it’s… sticky…?” The man looked at his fingers, where like a membrane was the liquid.
Both of them looked up, at the ceiling…
But there was nothing…
I barely escaped, when the men were distracted with my saliva.
I was ready to leap at them and do some nasty things, but I really hoped I won’t need to.
Not even because I was scared of killing humans, but because I felt like I was two times smaller than them.
Unlike a crazy white thing, I am not sure I could rip them apart, so I chose to run away.
I continued moving through the tunnel, and crawled towards a large lit space. It was different from the usual grim empty tunnels: it was inhabited.
Thanks to my size and inherent invisibility cheat, I got into the area.
Men were drinking, playing cards, and chatting about something. There was food and drinks, and my insatiable hunger drove me to search for the food.
Approaching the people was out of question: there were simply too many of them for a small xeno, so I tried to find the source of the food.
I lied low deeper in the compound, and waited.
While I was waiting, a group of men came close with a woman. They sat near a table and started chatting. No need to mention what happened to the woman…
Soon, another man approached, with a huge tray of food.
“Yaaay!” The other men shouted, and started eating, while one of them was busy in the background…
I, on the other hand, proceeded after the one who brought the food.
The man entered a door, and before it closed, I lurked inside.
There was so much food that…
“Ahagiru, na dosho!”
That I completely forgot to hide…
