The door opened with a creak and I stepped out.

To fit through the door I even had to bend down.

A bandit was rushing to the storage, perhaps after hearing the screams of the previous visitor. He immediately saw me and started shrieking, like a little girl.

HRRRRR!’ [‘Take this!’]

I grabbed his head, and pierced his temple with the tongue.

Moments later, an entire bunch of the bandits arrived. All armed and trembling in terror.

Hisssss’ I created a little ambience, and while some of them were wetting themselves, I walked towards them.

Slowly, and dreadfully.

The bandits were consumed by the terror, but the still prepared to fight.

When more bandits started arriving from the other side of the tunnel, I understood that they are numerous, and they are ready to fight. Now was not the time to be fooling around, unless I wanted to find out if I can be killed.

HRRRAAAA!!!’ I charged at the closest group of the panicking bandits, and started the carnage.

My claws were tearing through their rags and leather armor, while my tail was impaling their hearts.

One against seven, I tore them apart in a fiery rage.

HRAAAAA!!!’ Then, I charged right at the group behind me.

All of them were devoid of any fighting spirit, and were about to face death.

I was filled with courage, after learning that I am the most dreadful being here. With every kill I was driven closer to going berserk.

Only when I tore apart the last enemy I realized: I am a monster.

Not from the point that I am a xenomorph.

I myself, the former human, became a monster.

I shivered at the thought that I was indulging in killing, and feeling good about that. The revenge for those people’s wrongdoings was a weak consolation.

AHA, NI DOSHO!” When more shouts arrived from nearby, I remembered that no matter what you do, you can do anything about it only if you are alive.

I rushed away from the shouts. I was quite close to escaping, until my path was blocked by a young man.

Hsssss!’ [‘Hey, pretty boy, I’ve got no time for that!’]

The handsome young man drew a sword, and then somehow turned into one of those unshaved brutes.

I stopped in place, too confused by the sudden change.

In that time, the ‘handsome’ charged at me.

HRRRRAAA!’ [‘WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!’]

I dodged to a side, and thrusted with my tail.

ARGH!” The ex-‘handsome’ evaded too, and only had his thigh pierced, leaving a bleeding wound.

While I was held back, the other bandits arrived, and started swarming at me. I was surrounded, and had to resolve to even more murdering.

The claws, tail, and jaws were working hard at shredding and tearing the bandits. Only one of them was always staying alive after my attacks.

Hisssss!’ [‘Just how the hell are you doing this?’]

I looked at the ex-‘handsome’, who was all covered in wounds and bruises, but still continued standing.

I rushed at him with my claws, and while he was preparing to block my hands, I pierced him with the tail.

URGH…!” He glared at me, and clenched to his sword, while dying.

With his death, all sounds I could hear have seized.

Only a faint sound could be heard from afar.

Once I remained alone, I started thinking.

[It is better to be a living monster who killed thousands, than a dead monster who was like a saint.]

With this thought, I decided that I might as well try out something.

I headed towards the remaining sound.

Two bandits remained on guard.

Though they were hearing screams from their lair, they knew one thing: their Boss is the strongest person underground, and their gang is the strongest of the capital’s gangs. Whoever was the intruder, there is no way to lose.

Hear dat? They’re done.

Yeah. I wonder when they’ll bring something to eat.”

They continued playing cards, and listening into the tunnels.

A campfire was keeping them warm, and the cards kept them up on the post.

“Take this.” One of them threw the remaining cards on the log table.

What, you’ve never thought I’d win, ha?” He looked at his partner’s stupefied expression.

But the other bandit didn’t answer. He only pointed behind.

Drip

Something wet fell on the bandit’s head, and when he looked up…

In a moment they both were gripped by black bony hands, and dragged away effortlessly, despite their resistance.

I continued walking around with my catch, until I started feeling moist.

The deeper I was getting into a side tunnel, the moister it was becoming. Soon water was not just dripping from the ceiling, but even flowing from there.

I walked for a long time, until I hit a large chamber full of water.

It was very moist, but what is more important, it was huge and spacious.

Only then I let go of the captives.

They immediately tried to run away, but I was faster.

HAAAA!!!” I pushed one of them down, and ‘gently’ poked him with the tail. The same procedure was done with the other one.

I pinned them to the wall, and left.
