Chapter 16: Chapter 16 – Dazzling Display 

"A billion dollars for something that's essentially worthless? What did he get for that amount? A song dedicated to him? That's just ridiculous, even if he sells the song, I'm sure he won't get even a fraction of that money back." 

"Yeah, I agree, Claudina's singing is amazing, but a billion dollars? That's stupid!"

All eyes shifted to Arthur, who sat in the corner of the room, questioning the man's identity.

"Who is he?" Aston glanced at Harry.

"How do I know, Mr. Aston? I don't really care either for him. What a waste for such a useless item. Let him take this one, and we will focus our money on the ultimate item." Harry answered condescendingly.

Aston felt his pride had been sullied. Someone had insulted him by flaunting their wealth. He could not tolerate this, no matter who the person was.

"What a load of rubbish, he deliberately insulted me by offering a billion dollars just for a song?" he thought indignantly.

As Aston headed towards Arthur, all eyes were immediately drawn to him. Harry followed close behind him.

Aston stood directly in front of Arthur, who was lounging on the sofa. "Who are you? Why don't you take off your mask? I'm the only one here who's in the top three wealthiest people, so why are you challenging me by flaunting your wealth?"

"I can say, these guys are completely foolish!" Harry declared resolutely while standing around them. "Did you just rob a wealthy man? For one billion dollars, you could have obtained something even more valuable than what you paid for. I'm positive your minds would never be able to comprehend my way of thinking. After all, I am a smart and successful young CEO and there's only one like me in this town."

Harry tried to figure out who the man before him was, but he was unable to come up with an idea. He knew that he had the plan to win Claudina's heart, but if someone foolishly spent a lot of money to buy something useless, he was afraid his plan would fail.

Despite the difficult situation Harry was in, he was still confident. His intelligence was only part of the reason for this; his good looks and charm were also undeniable to any woman he met. He was sure he could outmaneuver the man in front of him, making him look foolish and embarrassed in front of the onlookers, especially Claudina.

"Take a look at this man!" Harry exclaimed, pointing to Arthur and looking around the room at everyone, including Claudina, who was sitting on the sofa on the stage. "He is an example of a foolish individual who has wasted his wealth. My suspicion is that he attained all of these possessions through unsavory methods. No matter how much money he has, a person like this will eventually run out of it, since he is too foolish to manage it properly."

Aston smiled and then said to Harry, "Of course! I'm sure only someone like me can hang onto wealth for such a long period of time, right?"

Aston then turned to Arthur and asked, "How much money do you have? Why don't you use it to purchase all the trifling items up for auction, and let me, a perfectly reputable man, have Claudina?"

"I'm sure," Harry said confidently, with a satisfied smirk on his face, "that he won't be able to sustain himself here for much longer, and he'll be forced to leave."

Arthur inhaled deeply, then facing the host, he said, "Let's move on to the next item."

"Alright, everyone!" The host then spoke again in a lively voice. "The first item sold to Mr. Glitzy for one billion dollars."

Arthur had taken on the alias 'Glitzy' for the auction that night. The name meaning showily attractive, flashy, or glittery, was chosen to conceal his true identity. Although he did not particularly enjoy hiding himself, he felt it was essential to keep safe in this unknown realm of the affluent. He was hoping to gain some insight into how savage this world could be.

Everyone in the room gave Arthur a round of applause for his actions, but their suspicious glances betrayed their true thoughts. "Let's see how much money he has left after buying all these useless items," they muttered amongst themselves.

"Okay, everyone. The next item is the special microphone that Ms. Claudina used when she made her debut performance in front of a live audience."

"One billion dollars!" exclaimed Arthur, raising his hand again. "I'm ready to move on to the next item, Host."

Aston was filled with rage, feeling the urge to punch the man who so arrogantly displayed his wealth in front of him. He wanted to prove how much money he really had. "Speed up the process, host! Move to the most important item in the auction!" he yelled.

"One billion dollars!"

"One billion dollars!"

Arthur proceeded to purchase seven items consecutively, each for a sum of one billion dollars. Finally, they were ready to auction the last item of the night.

"Who is that man?" Claudina asked anxiously, her eyes wide with apprehension as she glanced around the room. The bidding had become intense, and several participants had begun crowding around Mr. Glitzy, cornering him. She felt a sense of dread, wondering what would happen next.

That man had spent a whopping 8 billion dollars on the items that were auctioned off that night. It was a value for money that Claudina had never anticipated. "I'll have to tell my friends at the orphanage," she exclaimed, with a feeling of joy so strong that it seemed she was about to burst into tears.

Claudina pondered, "What does this guy want? Why did he spend so much money for this charity event? Is he like the other guys who are just looking to take advantage of me?" She had made her intentions clear from the beginning; she would only join them for dinner.

"Would that be enough to satisfy him?" She shook her head in confusion. Was she going to be forced to serve that man in bed rather than just dinner in exchange for all the money he had spent?

"Alright, alright!" Aston shouted, interrupting Host before he could finish delivering the last item to be auctioned that night.

Everyone's attention shifted towards Aston, as simultaneously, someone appeared and walked towards the stage. That person was Leo, the manager of the entertainment company responsible for handling Claudina's career.

"I think someone very important has an announcement to make tonight," Aston continued.

Leo was pleasantly surprised to discover that the auction this evening raised a significant amount of money. He was ecstatic, as the management would take a cut of the proceeds, which meant he would make even more money.

Consequently, Leo was confident that, with the help of the wealthy attendees, he would be able to make the planned decision.

"I am truly appreciative and proud of the wealthy individuals in this city. Consequently, in light of this auction, management has decided to switch up the item that we will be auctioning off as the grand finale tonight. Initially, it was just a dinner with Ms. Claudina... however, I made the call to..." Leo said with a faint smile which was quickly met with great enthusiasm and excitement from everyone.

"Leo!" Claudina shouted desperately, but then four large men wearing identical black suits suddenly surrounded her.

"Let's make the auction even more interesting tonight by auctioning off Ms. Claudina's virginity to the highest bidder," Leo declared.
