Chapter 37: Chapter 37 – Supporting the Rise

Arthur raced back to his room after his delightful breakfast with Alicia, eagerly anticipating the luxurious shower awaiting him in his grand bathroom. He luxuriated in the hot water, feeling like a king!

Claudina and Edna had just left Arthur's room, but Arthur had purposely set Edna a challenge, hoping to receive the results in record time. He was eager to find out what the outcome would be.

After taking his morning shower, Arthur dried himself off, put on his favorite casual clothes, and got ready for the day ahead.

He switched on his shiny, brand-new laptop and was impressed by its smooth performance. Being the top-of-the-line brand, the laptop was virtually silent and had a sleek, gray, and futuristic design that made him giddy with excitement. "That's what they call the Apple Macbook Special Edition 2022," he said cheerfully, feeling quite pleased with himself.

He opened YouTube and immediately searched for a live stream of Alice, a virtual YouTuber whose real identity was Alicia, the person behind the 2D girl. "Ah, there she is," he said.

"Ha-ha-ha-ha! Do you know, do you know Mina-san, today I just had the most incredible experience! I encountered a truly remarkable guy who was so skilled that he effortlessly defeated five opponents in a fight - it was truly astonishing!" She chortled gleefully.

The 2D avatar named Alice on Youtube was a girl with a white mane and a very stylish look. When Arthur tried to identify the voice behind the VTuber, he had a little difficulty recognizing it, for it sounded like she had decided to change her voice to that of a child. "That voice sounds familiar," Arthur thought to himself.

But, after taking a closer look, Arthur could distinctly recognize the Vtruber girl's voice as belonging to Alicia. He smiled, realizing that the honest and tomboyish Alicia was doing this kind of job as a side gig.

He felt a growing admiration for her at the same time. She was a person who desired to be independent, despite her young age of nineteen.

Moreover, Alice shared an experience she had previously, which was similar to what Arthur had done with Alicia - to which they all listened intently.

"Hi there, Mr. Glitzy," Alice said cheerily. "I was just wondering if you were watching my live stream right now?"

"Mina-san," she began, "did you know that I'm hosting an auction today? Whoever donates the most will get the chance to have lunch with me – isn't that interesting?" She asked with a hint of curiosity in her voice. "I know this is very exciting, right?"

Arthur tried to think about why Alice seemed to be encouraging him to reveal his identity. Had she left her phone intentionally on the table so he would realize that she was a VTuber, and Arthur would eventually show up at her event live to make an indirect confession? "Did she do this intentionally?" he wondered.

Harem-Fan donated $1,000.00 and said, "Alice, I love you. Will you be my wife?"

Zecs09 donated $1,500.00 and said, "Alice, you are my idol and I simply adore you! I will always be in awe of you and will never stop expressing my admiration for you!"

Marc donated $10,000.00 and said, "Alice, why don't we have lunch together and I'm sure I can make you fall head over heels in love with me in no time!"

Marc donated $10,000.00 and said, “Alice, your delightful and witty voice has absolutely swept me off my feet; I'd be over the moon to meet you soon!"

"Who is Marc?"

"He's totally nuts!"

"Is he seriously paying that much money to have lunch with our idol?!"

Harry donated $30,000.00 and said, "Hi Alice, I'm a young CEO and I'm on a mission to find my soulmate. I'm confident that you're the one for me. Why don't we meet and I can show you how kind and charming I am. Many women are vying for my attention."

Marc donated $15,000.00 and said, "What can a young CEO do? Rely on investors' funds for a company that will collapse in a matter of days? I'm Marco, a wealthy young master who can even topple the company you own whenever I want. Go kill yourself, Harry!"

As soon as Alice made her announcement regarding the auction, donations began to pour in profusely. Some even fiercely competed to secure the top ranking on the stream for that day.

Arthur took a deep breath when he realized that the people who were scrambling to have lunch with Alice were actually two people he was familiar with: Marco, his cousin, and Harry, who had previously participated in the auction at Claudina's event.

Harry donated $10,000.00 and said, "You're nothing more than a spoiled brat who only knows how to manipulate your parents to get what you want. You're a toxic presence who doesn't deserve to be alive."

Marc donated $10,000.00 and said, "Go out of my face, Harry! You're nothing more than a foolish virgin who dreamed of having a night with someone as popular as Alice. Keep your dreams to yourself, or I'll come after you and tear off your manhood!"

"Mina-san," Alice said, her virtual body trembling as she saw Marc and Harry's donation war unfold. "Please don't cause a commotion on my stream. It makes me sad."

Harry donated $10,000.00 and said, "Better watch what you're saying, Marco, you stupid brat. I know you'll soon run out of your allowance and be back to crying and begging your parents for more. I'll be the one having lunch with Alice and winning her heart."

Mr. Glitzy donated $10.00 dollars and said, "Hi Alice. It's a pleasure to meet you. I'd love to have breakfast with you again soon."

Arthur was left with no other option but to try and outdo the donations made by Marc and Harry, in a desperate attempt to protect the helpless girl from the two foolish men.

"I will scold her next time I meet her." Arthur muttered under his breath.

Arthur noticed the chat on Alice's stream suddenly becoming crowded and active.

"Someone said Mr. Glitzy only donated ten dollars," one person said.

"I'll beat that and donate eleven dollars and become the next Mr. Glitzy!" another joked.

"That's ridiculous! The username is already famous, whoever this person is must be desperate. Let the real Mr. Glitzy have it back, jerk!"

Mr. Glitzy donated $1,000,000.00 dollars and said, "Oops, looks like I forgot to type some zeros in the previous amount. Hi, everyone... Yes, I'm the real Mr. Glitzy."

"What?!? One million dollars? He's out of his mind!"

"He really is the real Mr. Glitzy!"

"Mr. Glitzy, could you please donate some money to my YouTube channel?"

"Mr. Glitzy, you're so cool! I really admire you,"

At the same time, Arthur received a short message from Alicia. "Arthur Oppa, I love you... Turns out you really are Mr. Glitzy.
