Chapter 45: Chapter 45 – A Lyrical Story of Snowy Notes

Claudina was mesmerized by Arthur's piano playing, and her eyes filled with tears of joy. 'His piano playing is beautiful,' she thought, and with a newfound confidence, she was sure they could pull off the duet on his very first attempt. 

When Arthur turned to look at her, she smiled and nodded.

“Through the night, I've been dreaming of a knight that I have seen.”

“In my heart, I am believing he will come to set me free.”

“I'm encased in a prison made of ice and snow.”

“But I know that his mission will bring a glorious glow.”

Arthur played the piano with a very beautiful melody, accompanying Claudina's singing. Unknowingly, everyone in the restaurant, from the kitchen staff to the front, felt hypnotized and could not help but move closer, their mouths agape at Arthur's piano playing and Claudina's beautiful voice.

Arthur gracefully and skillfully played his fingers on the piano keys, for he had memorized all the scales of the song, and this time he did it without even glancing at the tablet.

He flashed a smile at Claudina, and after it was his turn to sing, he leaned close to the microphone, shut his eyes, and attempted to stay as tranquil as he could.

At last, his voice echoed out into the room, and this was the first time Arthur had performed in front of an audience, let alone the first time he had sung Claudina's song.

“My heart can hear your whisper, it calls me to your side.”

“My sword and shield, I'll take up, and I'll be your guide.”

“Your beauty captures me, your sadness draws me in.”

“My mission is to save you, and together we will win.”

Claudina gaped in surprise as she heard Arthur singing perfectly, not missing a single note of the tune. His voice was incredibly melodious, and it felt as though she was witnessing something out of her dreams right before her eyes.

Everyone who saw couldn't help but admire Arthur's performance; they shook their heads in amazement, completely entranced by the piano playing and his melodious voice.

"Amazing!" they exclaimed.

"He's incredible," someone marveled. "This is such beautiful music and his voice is so melodious. He's really talented - is he a foreign singer who isn't well-known here?"

"They make the perfect pair," another one sighed, her eyes following the pair as they sang. "I'm about to swoon just looking at them."

Claudina smiled warmly at Arthur, then getting ready to resume her lyrics, she closed her eyes and felt with her heart the song she had wanted to sing for so long.

"This is a dream come true." Claudina said in her mind.

“Oh, my heart is afire, a flame that will not die.”

“The rescue I'm desiring, I'm waiting here inside.”

“My faith will never fail me. I'm counting on his touch.“

“To break the chains that hold me, and free me from this clutch.”

Arthur welcomed Claudina's singing with his fingers dancing agilely on the piano keys. He was truly enthralled by the sensation of the music he was playing, Claudina's beautiful voice, and the atmosphere of the place.

Without realizing it, there were already several people standing and admiring their performance intently.

Arthur brought his lips closer to the microphone, his piano strumming fading out with a gentle cadence. Picking up the melody once more, he resumed singing.

“My sword will break the frozen chains.”

Once Arthur had finished singing his part, Claudina immediately responded with her own.

“So come and rescue me. I will wait here patiently.”

Arthur could literally play the piano like a professional. His mesmerizing piano playing was so beautiful. Combined with a mix of Claudina's angelic singing and his steady and melodious voice, it was a beautiful harmony. Finally, Claudina readied herself to sing the last part of her song.

Arthur slowly brought their duet to a close by playing a single piano key. As it echoed away, they were both pleased to find that they had managed to sing the duet together for the first time with great success.

Everyone who witnessed their performance was left in awe - even after they finished singing, it took a few seconds for the audience to come back to reality, and clapping slowly and softly ensued. Gradually, however, the applause grew louder, their faces filled with satisfaction and joy.

"This is the most wonderful performance I've ever seen in person," someone said, wiping away the tears from his eyes.

"They both sang perfectly," he added.

Claudina beamed a very sweet and cheerful smile, feeling a bubbling joy that she couldn't put into words. She then spun around to Arthur, her face still alight with a wide smile, and jogged up to him, grabbing his hand.

"Arthur...." she said joyfully.

Arthur rose from his seat and inquired, "Is it good?"

"It's not just good," Claudina responded with delight. "It's an exquisite piano playing and singing. If I hadn't composed the song myself, I never would have believed that you were able to master it so flawlessly in just one attempt!"

"Did you like it?" Arthur asked again.

"I not only like it, I'm absolutely in love with everything you've done. You make it look effortless, and I'm at a loss for words to describe all you can do. Are you a prince on a white horse, a secret agent, an F1 racer, or a famous musician?"

Arthur smiled and nodded slowly. "I'm glad that we were able to connect through our singing," he said.

"Uhm!," Claudina replied with a tender smile and nodded rapidly in agreement.
