“Set off!”
Below a mountain peak to the southeast of the Death God Tribe, an explosive sound rang out. The troops escorting the priest started to head up the mountain; Jiang Yi was also becoming much more excited.
The mountain path was very precarious and narrow. Though some savages had split off and taken different paths, the entire convoy was still stretched for a very long distance; Jiang Yi could not even see the priestess from where he was.
“Chui Ye, bring me on a patrol with you; I will take control over all your tribesmen.”
After traveling for five minutes, the convoy was being stretched even thinner; Jiang Yi decided to take action. Mei Ru’s speed at bewitching savages was extremely fast; the troops in front were too far ahead and would not know what was going on in the rear. If Jiang Yi and Chui Ye acted in concert furtively, it would be very easy to control the hundred people here.
This mountain looked very precarious and was definitely very dangerous. After passing by this mountain, it would all be plains lying ahead; this was Jiang Yi’s only chance. As long as he managed to control the priestess, the situation would be utterly reversed; he would then be in control.
Chui Ye did not dare to defy any of Jiang Yi’s orders; soul slaves could not possibly defy their masters. Since Mei Ru was within Jiang Yi’s soul spirit, it was easy to control Chui Ye. Chui Ye brought Jiang Yi on his white tiger as the former patrolled in the mountain forest and headed towards a few tribesmen standing watch there.
“You, come here!”
Chui Ye neared one of them and gestured. That person hurriedly controlled his tiger and sprinted over. Chui Ye pointed at Jiang Yi and said, “Bring him to look around in the vicinity.”
As everyone in this tribesman’s tribe knew Jiang Yi, the former did not think much about this request. Jiang Yi swiftly jumped onto his tiger as a black wisp floated out from his glabella and furtively entered the savage’s mind. It was too easy; within an instant, the tribesman had been bewitched.
Just like this, Chui Ye brought Jiang Yi about and turned the twenty-odd men patrolling on both sides into Mei Ru’s soul slaves. Chui Ye then rounded this group of men back to join the main convoy and brought the remaining tribesmen that had not been bewitched yet out to patrol.
“Settled!”
Within one hour, the hundred tribesmen from Chui Ye’s tribe had all become Jiang Yi’s soul slaves. Jiang Yi was feeling more secure; if anything happened, at least he had control over a hundred tribesmen that could help deal with any situation as he fled first.
The mountain path was becoming harder and harder to travel. To the front, growls from beasts and the savages’ roars could be heard occasionally; it was obvious a battle was ensuing. However, with no summons from the vanguard, Jiang Yi and company could not proactively head to the front. They could only continue keeping guard at the rear.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The battle in front was getting increasingly ferocious. This time, it seemed as if a huge group of wild beasts had attacked. An order came from the vanguard to stop and be on guard where they were and to prepare for battle. Jiang Yi had thought that his chance had come. However, after one hour, the vanguard still did not request for any reinforcements.
Roar! Roar!
Another hour later, a few astonishing loud howls could be heard from the front, followed by the enraged voices of the savages; the cries of pain were also becoming more concentrated. At long last, a savage hurriedly sprinted to the rear and shouted from afar, “All are to press forward and reinforce the vanguard; a huge group of demon dragons has attacked!”
“Go!”
Jiang Yi was waiting for this exact moment. He flashed a look towards Chui Ye as the latter gave a signal, and the hundred tribesmen dashed forward. At the same time, the other hundred men protecting the rear also rushed forward; it was obvious that the vanguard could not withstand for much longer and had requested for aid.
After sprinting crazily for one to two kilometers, the terrain in front actually cleared; and a huge flat land could be seen. Jiang Yi took a look and was shocked. The battle was at its peak; more than two to three hundred men were dead or wounded while a few hundred wild beasts had been killed as well. However, wild beasts were continuing to emerge from the bushes from afar. There was only one way up this mountain; if they did not kill all these wild beasts, it was impossible to continue.

These wild beasts were something like dragons. However, they had eight legs, with the front two being very short and having sharp claws that were glowing faintly. They were not that big; almost the same size as rhinoceros. Their tails were not long, and their backs had sharp spikes; they looked more like dinosaurs. Their brains were huge, and their tusks were long and sharp. Their entire bodies were covered with black scales as well. They were fast as the wind and had powerful defensive abilities.
This priestess is so coldblooded!
Jiang Yi saw that the beautiful priestess and her two hundred guards were watching from a corner. Only those from the Undying Tribe had been rushed into battle; it seemed like in her eyes, everyone in this continent was backward savages; and their deaths meant nothing.
“Kill!”
Chui Ye brought his men and dashed forward, naturally not able to stand idle and watch. He brought his men and entered the fray. Jiang Yi could only join in the surge; if not, he would incur the suspicion of the priestess.
Jiang Yi’s original body was not bad; after being transformed and strengthened by the Destitute Dragon Grass, the powers of the stars, and then a month’s worth of Sacred Bone Soup; his powers, speed, and defenses were more or less comparable with ordinary Brave Warriors. He wielded a wooden spear, and followed Chui Ye on his tiger, swiftly rushed to the front and entered the battle.
This type of battle was boring, bloody, violent, and very primitive!
It was a close-quarter battle; the savages did not have martial skills or dao patterns while the demonic dragons did not know demonic arts. The two sides were fighting based on their speed, offensive, and defensive abilities. The savages were very adroit at dealing with the demonic dragons. They used their wooden spears to scratch the dragons’ eyes and mouths, their jaws and stomachs; they penetrated wherever it was the easiest to jab.
These wooden spears were made out of a very special type of wood; everyone in the tribe had one. They were exceptional, and there was a flash of light inside them whenever the spears were wielded. They could pierce through extremely strong defenses. Jiang Yi had asked Chui Ye what was so special about these wooden spears; however, someone as low-level as Chui Ye did not know anything. Jiang Yi had tried to use his senses but could not find out anything as well.
“He! He!”
Jiang Yi followed behind Chui Ye as their tiger headed towards one demonic dragon. His eyes flashed coldly as his spear created a shadow and jabbed it straight at that demonic dragon’s eyes.
Roar!
The demonic dragon’s reaction was swift; it immediately shut its eyes, and its head surged forward, its twin sharp tusks heading straight for Jiang Yi.
“Hmph!”
How battle-hardened was Jiang Yi? He did not even need to look and had anticipated the demonic dragon’s movements. His wooden spear accelerated forward as he arched his back and flattened himself to avoid the tusks. His spear was not affected at all as it speedily jabbed into that demonic dragon’s eyes.
Roar!
The demonic dragon cried out in pain as its body thrashed on the ground. Jiang Yi retrieved his spear and gently guided his white tiger away. Chui Ye’s eyes lit up as he genuinely praised, “Chui Kuang, beautifully done!”
Jiang Yi’s name in the tribe was Chui Kuang. The few dozen people in the vicinity had also witnessed this scene and were shouting their praises. If it was them, they would either have been injured or would have given up the attack. Based on appearances, Jiang Yi looked like a child; everyone was very impressed by his skills.
Jiang Yi’s face revealed a sliver of excitement as if very happy. He controlled his tiger and quickly sprinted to find his next target. Every time he attacked, another demonic dragon’s eyes would go blind; his accolades were leaving the savages speechless.
Jiang Yi’s battle prowess was without question; his strengthened body had allowed his speed and reflexes to be astonishing. Furthermore, his battle experience was plenty; it wasn’t something this group of savages could rival. If he could use his essence force and martial skills, combined with his current body and the special wooden spear, it would be even easier for him to deal with these demonic dragons.
His young appearance and excellent achievements swiftly attracted the attention of that pretty priestess as well as the two hundred savages around her. Her eyes flashed strangely as her gaze lingered on Jiang Yi; there was obviously a hint of suspicion deep inside her.
That outcome was exactly what Jiang Yi wanted!
He wanted to attract the priestess’ attention, to arouse her suspicions; that was the only way for him to get close to her.
