Chapter 1468: That is My Son

Jiang Yi played a very ordinary tune this time. It was not as aggressive as before, and it did not cause people to speed off, much less awaken the four divine beasts.

However, the deep sorrow in the tune was evident. Everyone present fell silent immediately. Many young masters and young mistresses who wanted to leave halted as well. It was rare for them to get to hear divine songs. In the entire Earth Domain—even if Jiang Yi’s Divine Sound nomological mystical ability was not the first, he was surely among the top ten.

The moment the song ended, the restrictions around the Saint Spirit Mountain started flashing again. Jiang Yi smiled gently. He turned to the Earth Emanations Sovereign and nodded. Then, the latter led him and Jiang Xiaonu up into the air, towards Heavenly Charm City.

Since Jiang Yi was still quite weak, the group stopped at Heavenly Charm City to rest for a couple of hours before teleporting back to Earth Emanations Domain. The young masters and young mistresses from the various domains hardly stopped at all. Instead, group by group, they entered the Teleportation Formation and left. The commotion this time was too huge. The Phantom King was in a rage and remaining in the Saint Spirit Domain was not a good idea.

Swish!

In a palace on top of the Saint Spirit Mountain, a ghoul-like shadow shot in. Yi Tu stood in the study, his back facing the door. Without turning around, he asked in a cold voice, “Are they all gone?”

“They’re gone! The Earth Emanations, Jiang Yi, Mu Xiaoyu, Qi Qingchen, the Little Eagle King, and everyone else have all gone back to where they came from!”

The figure went down on one knee and gave the report. Yi Tu nodded slightly and waved a hand. “Be dismissed. Send a voice transmission to those who came to observe today that they are not to spread news of what happened today. Otherwise… they will be killed without discussion!”

Once the figure disappeared, Yi Tu turned around, his expression dark. It was one thing to have been utterly embarrassed today, but even the Phantom King had been utterly embarrassed. Yet, they had to suppress their anger, unable to find a release. They could only keep their frustrations in their own hearts.

“Yi Tu!”

A cold voice suddenly sounded. Yi Tu hurriedly bowed and said, “Majesty Father!”

The voice sounded again, and it sounded extremely cold. “Move Piaopiao to the first level and tell her not to think that I would forgive her just because her son came. If she refuses to admit her mistakes, she would be locked in the Saint Prison for the rest of her life! Hmph!”

“Yes, Majesty Father!”

Yi Tu answered, his tone heavy and low. By the time he stood upright, there was no hint of surprise on his face. When the Phantom King went back on his word, he already knew that this would be the outcome. His grandson behaved so outstandingly, and he had limitless potential. If he continued to keep Yi Piaopiao in the Eighteenth Level—when Jiang Yi became strong enough, he would cause bloodshed on the Saint Spirit Mountain for sure. Then, there would be no repairing the situation.

Images of Jiang Yi’s hate-filled eyes emerged in Yi Tu’s mind. When he recalled the divine song—overflowing with hatred and rage, a chill ran down his spine. They had not wanted to name Jiang Yi the champion because there was a certain evil aura about Jiang Yi that seemed uncontrollable. People like him were the most dangerous. Yet, he had the talents to stand out. How long had Yi Piaopiao been captured before he ascended? Now, he was so close to realizing quintessence as well.

“Sigh…”

Yi Tu pondered for a long moment until his head began hurting. He could not afford to think so much anymore. He took big strides towards the outside and then descended to the eighteenth level of the Saint Prison.

“Open the gate”

The guard standing outside Yi Piaopiao’s cell was the same elder. Yi Tu waved his hand, and the elder opened the gate without any hesitation. Yi Tu represented the Phantom King among those of the Phantom Race. He held almost as much power as the Clan Head himself.

The gate opened, and Yi Tu scanned the interior. Pain began to fill his eyes.

Yi Piaopiao was no longer sitting cross-legged on the ground but was kneeling at the foot of a wall. Both of her hands were against the wall, her eyes closed as tears poured out of her eyes like rivers. The soft pitter-patter of the tears falling onto the ground could be heard.

With heavy footsteps, Yi Tu walked into the cell and stood behind Yi Piaopiao. His lips moved, but only a second later did he speak. “Piaopiao, Majesty Father gave orders for you to be moved to the first level of the Saint Prison. You won’t need to endure such strong gravity anymore.”

Yi Piaopiao did not turn around. Instead, she continued to face the wall. Her body did not even move in the slightest. Her two hands rubbed against the cold wall as if she was caressing Jiang Yi’s face. After a long time, she finally opened her mouth. Her throat sounded choked up as she asked, “What does my son look like? Has he… gone now?”

A forced smile appeared on Yi Tu’s face. “He looks handsome, and he looks a lot like you. I’ll paint a picture for you!”

Yi Tu retrieved ink and a brush and quickly started painting. His brush techniques were not bad; he made Jiang Yi look alive and realistic. Yi Piaopiao turned to look and found that he looked no different from when she saw him the last time. The only difference was that he looked skinnier. That was all the more moving. She stared at the painting, the tears flowing out from her eyes more aggressively than before.

Once Yi Tu finished drawing, he handed the painting to Yi Piaopiao and said, “He followed the Earth Emanations Sovereign back. Majesty Father told him to come back only after realizing quintessence. Your son’s temper is very much like yours. He kept talking back to Majesty Father earlier. He even said he would cause bloodshed on the Saint Spirit Mountain…”

“Hahaha!”

Yi Piaopiao burst out laughing, still crying at the same time. She nodded and said, “That’s my son. He said the right thing. He’ll cause bloodshed indeed!”

“You…”

Yi Tu was furious as he sighed and said, “Look at your temper. How do you expect Majesty Father to forgive you? He already said that if you’re still not willing to admit your mistakes, you can forget about ever getting out.”

“Then, so be it!”

Yi Piaopiao mocked. “I don’t need his forgiveness. My son will come and rescue me. Big Brother, go back and tell that old man that I will never admit my mistakes; neither will I call him Majesty Father! Go ahead, I want to continue training.”

“En?”

Yi Tu’s eyes glinted. In a heavy tone, he asked, “Are you not going to the first level?”

“No!”

Yi Piaopiao reached out to touch the painting, a hint of a smile tugging at her lips. “I don’t need that old fellow’s pity. I’ve broken the rules so I will bear the consequences. I’ll either wait for the ten years to be over or wait for my son to come and fetch me. Otherwise, I will not leave this place.”

“You… silly!”

Yi Tu was boiling with anger. He began pacing the room, not being able to think straight because of his anger. Yet, Yi Piaopiao did not bother about him at all. She kept her hand on Jiang Y’s painting and sat down, studying it. A beautiful smile spread across her lips as she admired the painting.

“Hmph!”

An old, cold voice sounded. “Yi Tu, don’t bother about her. Since she wants to stay inside there, we’ll let her remain there for the rest of her life. I want to watch and see how her son is going to kill his way into Saint Spirit Mountain and rescue her.”

The Phantom King sent a voice transmission to Yi Tu, anger evident in his voice. This time, he had been utterly embarrassed by Jiang Yi. It had not been easy for him to set his reputation down and show mercy on Yi Piaopiao by allowing her to suffer less on the first level. Yet, Yi Piaopiao rejected him? Given his short temper, it was only natural for him to become furious.

“Sigh…”

Yi Tu sighed deeply and turned to leave. The stone gate of the cell closed slowly.

Yi Piaopiao remained where she was, acting like she could not see or hear anything. She did not even care about the Phantom King. The beautiful, radiant smile remained on her face as she appreciated the painting of Jiang Yi. She mumbled nonstop under her breath, “Child, my child! My child has ascended. My child has come to Earth Domain to look for me. My child has grown up and become a formidable martial artist! Child, Mom is waiting for the day you come and rescue me. I’ll wait for you. I’ll wait for you…”
