Chapter 154: Black Qilin

Jiang Yi didn’t cultivate this evening. Too many events had occurred today, and he wasn’t able to settle his mind.
Su Ruoxue had already headed back, but Jiang Yi could still feel the lingering fragrance from her body. He laid within the stone cave’s room and gently shut his eyes. His mind was reminiscing the time when Su Ruoxue was hugging him, enjoying the feeling of ecstasy.
He was already sixteen years old, and his body had already reached puberty. Influenced by Qian Wanguan, he wasn’t entirely ignorant about the matters between a man and a woman. Of course, in regard to romance, he was still a complete idiot.
Su Ruoxue had a very ambiguous relationship with Jiang Yi. They had experience plenty of events, and in the depths of his heart, he had this strange feeling for this mentor. Precisely because she was a mentor, Jiang Yi didn’t dare to have any other thoughts. Perhaps due to this difference, Su Ruoxue spent most of her time trying to avoid Jiang Yi.
There were plenty of other reasons, like Jiang Yi thinking that he wasn’t worthy enough for Su Ruoxue. He was orphaned since a young age—bullied, mocked, and ridiculed. It made him feel as though he was inferior, and he hated those young masters and ladies. He never liked to be mixed with them because of his self-abasement.
He was an illegitimate child, a shameful bastard child.
Su Ruoxue had an exceptional status; Qian Wanguan once told him about her extraordinary origin. Jiang Yi knew it, too. If she could possess such a formidable secret art like the Purple Charm Divine Light, Su Ruoxue would definitely be nothing related to an ordinary clan’s descendant. This was why after they returned from the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch, Jiang Yi didn’t take the initiative to look for Su Ruoxue even once—even though his heart yearned for the opportunity to see this beautiful lady again.
In addition to the case with Jiang Xiaonu and grievances with so many enemies, Jiang Yi didn’t even know when he would be dead and naturally didn’t have any extravagant hope.
“Bang!”
A firework suddenly burst up in the sky which illuminated half the sky, pulling Jiang Yi back from his deep thoughts. His regained that icy cold eyes and walked out quickly with suspicion.
“Young Master Yi, someone has ascended the mountain and is quickly approaching us. Strength… formidable.”
Qian Kun swiftly came in to report while Jiang Yi walked out of the cave entrance and stood on the cliff. He took a glance at the quiet wilderness and made a hand gesture. “Qian Kun, all of you will withdraw and find a place to hide.”
“Young Master Yi!” Qian Kun panicked and gritted his teeth without moving an inch.
“This is an order!”
Jiang Yi didn’t have time to explain and said with a wave of his hand, “Anyone who dares to come find trouble with me isn’t someone you should be involved with. Get lost!”
Jiang Yi was infuriated. Qian Kun didn’t dare to continue speaking and left with his clansmen to quickly descend the stone peaks and conceal themselves in the dark forest.
A red dagger suddenly appeared in Jiang Yi’s hand while he looked into the distance with doubtful eyes and muttered, “Who is this that actually dares to find trouble with me?”
Jiang Yi had plenty of enemies like Skyplume City’s Ma and Jiang Clan, the Zhangsun Clan, or Jiang Yiliu. These people shouldn’t have the guts to come seek trouble with him. After all, his strength was now invincible among the Purple Mansion Realm. As for Soul Travel Realm martial experts, apart from the Zhangsun Clan, who else could utilize them? The problem was… would the Zhangsun Clan risk incurring the thunderous wrath of Jiang Bieli to assassinate him?
The answer would soon be revealed!
Under the moonlight, a black massive beast was galloping over. This beast was at least three meters in height and over two meters in length. It looked like it had much more prowess than the Silver-Moon Demon Wolf. This strange beast had a peculiar body shape: a lion’s head, an antler’s horn, a tiger’s eyes, a moose’s body, a dragon’s scales, an ox’s tail—making it extremely awkward to look at.
Black Qilin?
The pupils of Jiang Yi’s eye shrank. He once read about this demonic beast on a book. It was a tier-three demonic beast and was the tyrannical type. Of course, it wasn’t as horrifying as the Three-Tailed Spirit Fox. It was said that the Black Qilin could cultivate and evolve into the tier-four Purple Qilin or the tier-five Fire Qilin.

Sweeping his gaze across the Black Qilin, Jiang Yi’s eyes soon stopped at the lady that sat atop the Black Qilin. It was a gorgeous young lady with snow-like skin and exquisite facial features that were comparable to Su Ruoxue. Especially her single eyelid and delicately sharp nose, which gave out a refined temperament. She was dressed in an odd manner: wearing a long green dress which was hung with green little bells. Her neck had this silver necklace while her hair was combed into a traditional hairstyle. Her sparkling and translucent earlobes had two huge silver earrings on it.
“Roar-Roar!”
As the Black Qilin sped along, it had locked its eyes onto Jiang Yi who was standing on the protruding cliff. It let out thunderous roars which resonated along with the young lady’s crisp tinkle of the bells.
Eighth stage of the Cast Tripod Realm?
The young lady had locked her eyes on Jiang Yi from far away and knitted her ink-like brows. A thousand feet below the stone peaks, she controlled her Black Qilin to stop while exchanging eye contact with Jiang Yi from a distance.
This Black Qilin is a spirit beast, right? I thought no one had the ability to tame spirit beasts apart from the Mt. Spirit Beast College? How could this young lady tame a Black Qilin?
Jiang Yi blinked his eyes in doubt while looking at the unfamiliar young lady. He still wasn’t clear of her intention.
The young lady stared for a moment before speaking with a delicate voice, “Are you Jiang Yi? The no.1 prodigy of Mt. Spirit Beast College?”
Jiang Yi was startled. How did this young lady know of his name? He paused for a moment before replying indifferently, “I am indeed Jiang Yi. Though I dare not accept the title of no.1 prodigy. May I ask what does this Young Lady need from me?”
“Jiang Yi! Then everything is correct!”
The young lady’s almond-shaped eyes had a flash of cold light as she yelled out delicately, “This Young Lady is the Water Moon Observatory’s Shui Qianrou. Jiang Yi, you better remember well. Otherwise, you might be dead and wouldn’t even know who killed you.”
“Buzz!”
Finishing her sentence, Shui Qianrou extended out her jade-like hands and grabbed onto the silver necklace on her neck. The necklace suddenly brimmed with white light and turned into a white ray flying towards Jiang Yi.
“The hell!”
Jiang Yi could feel the terrifying pressure from that necklace and could see that the white ray was flying towards him like lightning. This white ray was constantly growing bigger, and the horrific aura wasn’t any inferior compared to the Man-Ruler Seal. His expression immediately changed, and he used his fastest speed to leap down from the cliff.
“Boom!”
The necklace swelled up it went against the wind. When it arrived at the stone peak, it was already as wide as a hundred feet in diameter. The necklace crashed onto the stone peak which came along with a mind-blowing explosion. The stone peak was collapsing at the waist, and the top half of the stone peak came crashing down. Countless shards of stone were flying in all directions; smoke and dust were rising into the sky. The surrounding mountains were shaking, and it felt like it was the end of the world.
“Goddammit!”
When Jiang Yi had just landed on the ground, he could see the top half of the stone peak crashing down. He frantically bounced back up and sprinted away from it.
“Boom!”
When half of the stone peak smashed into the ground, it caused the entire surface to tremble while smoke and dust covered the sky. The booming sound didn’t cease to ring in the ears. Jiang Yi was fortunate enough to escape with his life but was now coughing due to the dust. His heart was extremely infuriated, and his eyes began to glow red.
This Shui Qianrou had the looks of a precious jade but had such a vicious heart. It was their first meeting, and just after a brief greeting, she immediately made her move? What’s more, it was such a dominant attack. If he didn’t react fast enough, he would probably have been crushed into mince.
This Shui Qianrou didn’t look as old as him but already had the strength of the peak stage Purple Mansion Realm. She possessed a tier-three spirit beast and an absolute artifact that was comparable to Jiang Yiliu’s Man-Ruler Seal. Jiang Yi might not have heard of the Water Moon Observatory, but he knew this young lady had an influential background.
Even so!
Jiang Yi still released his Massacre Intent at the first notice. He didn’t care whether this young lady was the princess of the empire or the daughter of a deity. Since Shui Qianrou wanted to kill him, she would have to bear his wrath.
