Bang!
Jiang Yi flew down and suddenly cleaved with his Fire Dragon Sword. A group of Lava Puppets at the bottom immediately burst apart, turning into lava while spraying in all directions. More Lava Puppets were quickly formed below. All the puppets were spewing with fiery red Earth Fire, which would probably incinerate an average martial artist into dust upon contact.
Jiang Yi had the Fire Spirit Pearl and was basically immune to the Earth Fire. His body shot into the lava while his Fire Dragon Sword would flash with radiance as he shot the fire dragons in all directions, turning all those Lava Puppets into mush. The Fire Spirit Pearl would rapidly absorb the Earth Fire concurrently.
The Fire Spirit Pearl absorbed the Earth Fire at a very fast pace while quickly solidifying the surrounding lava and stopping any more Lava Puppets from forming. As for the Lava Puppets which were further away, they would be smashed before they even got near to Jiang Yi.
Jiang Yi began to swim in the lava while waiting for the Earth Fire to occupy half of the space in the Fire Spirit Pearl. He suddenly jumped up into the air, shooting two fire dragons and using the shockwave to burst towards the entrance of the volcano.
Bang!
The Fire Dragon Sword was abruptly stabbed into the volcano wall. Jiang Yi didn’t climb up to the vent of the volcano anymore. He stirred the Fire Dragon Sword and dug a tunnel to the outside.
After digging a tunnel out of the volcano, he smiled at He Lao—who was completely drenched in his sweat—and said, “He Lao, the exit is within the volcano.”
“Ah?”
He Lao’s expression instantly turned pale as he spoke with fear, “The temperature within the volcano is too high. Wouldn’t I be burned alive if I enter it?”
“Ke-Ke!”
Jiang Yi smiled and headed back into the tunnel, gesturing for He Lao to follow him, and said, “He Lao, don’t worry. Follow me, I guarantee that you will be fine.”
He Lao’s eyes lit up. Jiang Yi wouldn’t lie to him. Since he said he had a guaranteed method, He Lao quickly followed behind. Along the way, the temperature rose higher and higher. Just as He Lao couldn’t withstand it any longer, Jiang Yi suddenly reached out his hand, transferring unknown energy through his hand. He Lao instantly felt his body turning cool, and he couldn’t feel the blazing heat anymore—as he felt refreshingly cool from head to toe.
“What is this energy? It is so amazing!”
He Lao looked at the back of Jiang Yi and felt it was so mystical. This seventeen-year-old youth brought to him many surprises and delights. Such mystical powers were unheard of. There were plenty of artifacts in the continent that gave deterrence to fire, but this was the first time he witnessed one using energy that could help others deter the fire.
“Faster, He Lao! This energy will be exhausted quickly. You have to rush into the teleportation array before the energy runs out.”
As Jiang Yi’s voice echoed, He Lao didn’t dare to think so much and ran frantically with Jiang Yi.
Swish!
Jiang Yi jumped down first and shot two fire dragons down, crushing a few of the Lava Puppets. He then burst out and yelled, “He Lao, step on my body and rush towards the teleportation array.”
When He Lao flew down, he saw countless Lava Puppets and was frightened pale. Jiang Yi’s words brought back his consciousness as he controlled his body to step on Jiang Yi’s shoulder to fly again.
Tsk-Tsk!
Swish!
Jiang Yi didn’t dare to be careless as he rushed towards the teleportation array. He would constantly shoot out fire dragons, increasing his speed to the limit and matching it with He Lao’s speed. If He Lao didn’t have any place to step and borrow strength, that trace of energy would be quickly depleted if he was to drop in the lava and immediately turn into dust.
Swish!
He Lao’s speed was very fast, and he just had to step on Jiang Yi’s shoulder three times to land on a protruding stone cliff at the corner of the lava pit. That stone cliff had a teleportation array that was shining with white light.
“Young Master Yi! Come quickly!”
He Lao saw the Lava Puppets which were flocking towards him. It was an appalling scene which would frighten anyone with a single look. The Witch God’s forbidden ground was indeed a treacherous place. Let alone going into the upper layers of the volcano—even if they found the teleportation array, they wouldn’t have any ways to enter it, right? At least, he knew that he didn’t have this capability.

“They are here!”
Jiang Yi leisurely ran over and allowed the Fire Spirit Pearl to continue absorbing the Earth Fire. When it was about to be filled, he flew up and rushed into the teleportation array with He Lao.
Buzz!
The teleportation array quickly lit up while they vanished without a trace.
“Eh?”
After being teleported, they suddenly widened their eyes. They were back in the palace which looked exactly the same as the second floor.
“No. This should be the third floor!”
He Lao reacted quickly and scanned the floor. He didn’t see that hole which Jiang Yi burned and immediately yelled out. Jiang Yi took a glance and nodded his head, too. They both looked at each other and let out a breath of relief.
The two of them didn’t enter the teleportation array immediately. They just laid down on the floor and rested in an unruly manner. Even though they weren’t in an overly dangerous situation in the strange space of the second floor—after staying in there for more than seven days, they were abnormally exhausted.
Jiang Yi laid down and immediately fell asleep. He Lao took things cautiously and sat in cultivation while staying alert. After Jiang Yi slept for a day, he then took his turn to rest.
Two days later, their bodies were back to their prime; and they stepped into the teleportation array together and continued their journey up.
Buzz!
As expected, the two of them were teleported out and into a strange space, which was a wilderness. Jiang Yi looked around and didn’t notice anything dangerous, but he did saw a large forest on the left.
One shouldn’t simply enter a forest!
They didn’t dare to enter the forest recklessly. The two just scouted it from the outside and walked to the right. They were quickly cornered as another forest appeared on the right after they ran for a few kilometers. He Lao flew up and took a glance; he couldn’t see the border of the forest. It was obviously so vast that there were no borders.
The two of them had a discussion and decided to walk along the forest. If the second floor was already so dangerous, the third floor must be even more dangerous. It was needless to say that the forest contained plenty of horrific demonic beasts.
In the end…
After walking for two hours, they realized that they went back to square one. There were forests in all directions, and they had no other way to go.
“Let’s depart!”
He Lao let out a bitter and helpless smile to Jiang Yi before they rushed into the forest. Jiang Yi walked on the left and was around several meters away from He Lao. He was afraid he might have to release the Earth Fire and Massacre Intent when in danger. If He Lao was by Jiang Yi’s side, he would definitely suffer; and Jiang Yi wouldn’t be able to utilize his full strength.
Roar!
After walking for a short moment, there was a thunderous roar that came from the front. A black shadow approached quickly like a sharp sword. Its body was actually emitting black flames, and it would incinerate all the trees and weed everywhere it passed. It had tremendous speed and took just a few blinks of the eyes to reach the space in front of He Lao. It opened up its mouth and released black flames from it, like a tongue of flames.
“Tier-three demonic beast, Fire Demon Panther!”
He Lao had this grave expression as he quickly dodged to the side. He quickly drew the longsword out of the sheath and slashed across the air, turning the sword into hundreds of sword lights that slashed at the tier-three demonic beast.
Tsk-Tsk!
Jiang Yi was astonished because He Lao’s attack wasn’t just shadows. Hundreds of blade lights were shot out at the same time. Every blade light was very small, like countless wind blades that whizzed across. The blade lights had horrifying aura presence, and it had extreme power, enveloping that tier-three demonic beast.
“Ke-ke! Young Master Yi, this is the only dao pattern that Old He had comprehended. It is a low-tier wind attribute dao pattern. Its strength is still considered passable!”
He Lao’s slightly prideful voice echoed, answering the questions in Jiang Yi’s mind. He too had comprehended a type of wind attribute dao pattern—which could restrain the enemies and belonged to the control type. He Lao’s attack was obviously an attack type which had stunning power. If this was a Soul Travel Realm expert, he would probably be killed immediately after being enveloped by so many essence force attacks, right?
Jiang Yi’s eyes quickly burned with passion as he thought to himself. I shall ask He Lao to teach me this wind attribute dao pattern when there is time! If I can comprehend it and combine it with the Fire Dragon Sword, it would be magnificent to see hundreds of fire dragon, right? My attack strength would also increase by a few folds. As the Demon Empress mentioned—in order to get stronger, I have to constantly comprehend dao patterns.
