Chapter 987: Heaven Hidden Sect’s Disciples?

In the underground north of the Heaven Devil Mountain, Jiang Yi had been using the tunnels dug by the Heaven Devil Race to advance. For hundreds of thousands of years, the Heaven Devil Race had been digging countless tunnels. It was an accessible world underground, allowing Jiang Yi to traverse in the tunnels with ease.

During this period of time, the Dwarf Race would definitely try to kill the Heaven Devil Race whenever there was an encounter. Jiang Yi was traveling alone, and so it was much more dangerous. Nonetheless, he felt more comfortable instead. He didn’t dare to travel with the other Heaven Devil Race, and he couldn’t use his full strength as it would easily expose his identity. This time, he wanted to venture out to search for opportunities and fate to see if he could comprehend any dao patterns. It would be better if he was alone.

Bang!

After sprinting for two days, he noticed that it was a little depressing to be within these tunnels, and so he decided to follow a tunnel which led to the surface. The entrance of the tunnel was covered by accumulated snow and when Jiang Yi rushed out from the layers of snow, he saw nothing but ice plains and a sky that was covered in drifting snow. His heart had this indescribable trace of emotion.

He stood and stared blankly on the surface of the ground. He allowed the snow to land on his black hair while he narrowed his eyes. His hair was no longer red now as he had used the Mirage Divine Ability to turn them into the same black hair that Mo Xing had. However, soon enough, his hair was covered with snow and had turned white.

“Sigh…”

That trace of emotion had vanished without a trace, and when Jiang Yi wanted to capture that feeling, he couldn’t anymore. He stood for a moment and sat cross-legged to scan with his Divine Perception. He then advanced after confirming that there were no armies in the vicinity.

He closed his eyes and walked very slowly, allowing himself to be enveloped by the icy snow—to be enveloped by the chilling sensation. His mind was filled with scenes of the dwarfs releasing the snow dragon ability while attempting to comprehend that ability.

Icy snow covering the sky, bone-chilling wind.

Jiang Yi was wearing a thin layer of black clothes and pressing forward alone. His footsteps were soft, and it didn’t make any sound. He still left behind two rows of footprints in the thick snow, but those footprints were also covered by the heavy snow very quickly.

He didn’t circulate his essence force and didn’t activate the divine shield. He allowed the cold air to assault his body. His blood was slowly freezing, and his body was getting so stiff that his movements were getting impaired. He finally circulated some essence force to expel the cold air before advancing again.

Nighttime was gradually arriving, and the wind and snow had gradually stopped. The air appeared with countless astral winds, but Jiang Yi didn’t stop advancing. He didn’t open his eyes either. His eyes were misty as he advanced like a lost child.

He had been walking through the night, and daybreak had started in the east. There was a rare trace of sunlight which had shone on the snow plains, illuminating it like crystals. Jiang Yi stood on a small mountain, and his eyes had regained clarity. He had walked for one day and one night, and he had completely disregarded his direction and didn’t know where he was now. He was completely lost and had no choice but to randomly choose a direction to walk.

He had this indescribable feeling that if he wanted to comprehend the icy snow dao pattern, he had to become one with the icy snow. He had to experience the cold of the icy snow and the power of the icy snow.

Bang, Bang, Bang!

After walking for a moment, there were echoes of heavy footsteps that suddenly came from the front. Jiang Yi’s eyes immediately regained clarity as he circulated his essence force and condensed the Astral Winds Divine Shield. He extended his divine senses far out, and his eyes had quickly turned cold.

Over a dozen giants were sprinting over, and they had obviously discovered him. They were the Mammoth Race that was mentioned by Mo Tian. They were over six meters in height, and their bodies were covered in terrifying, explosive muscles. There was a giant horn on each head, and they were shining with cold light. If it wasn’t for the fact that their bodies didn’t have any demonic qi, Jiang Yi would have assumed they were from the demon race.

Bang, Bang, Bang!

Fourteen Mammoth Race’s members ran over in a frenzy, and every time they sprinted there would be tremors. Each of their steps would allow them to cross over tens of meters with speed like the wind. They were all comparable to middle-stage Heaven Monarchs, and they took just a few blinks of the eye to appear in Jiang Yi’s vision.

“Heaven Devil Race, kill!”

One of the Mammoth Race’s members’ huge eyes glared at Jiang Yi before roaring with a muffled voice. Jiang Yi didn’t move and simply used his divine senses to scout out. After he confirmed that there were no other experts hidden in the ten-mile radius, he spoke coldly, “I have no grudge or animosity with you. Why do you want to kill me on sight?”

“Hmph!”

One of the Mammoth Race members spoke with a muffled voice, “Kid, do you not know that our Mammoth Race and Dwarf Race are the best allies? Our elders have already given the orders to kill your Heaven Devil Race upon sight. Kid, just admit your fate and die obediently!”

Buzz!

The fourteen Mammoth Race members’ horns all lit up, and fourteen horrific blue rays were shot out. Jiang Yi didn’t dodge nor evade and rushed forward instead. He silently controlled ten astral wind blades to drift forward and viciously attack ten of the Mammoth Race members.

Boom! Boom!

When the fourteen rays of blue light struck on Jiang Yi’s body, the Mammoth Race members were shocked. Jiang Yi didn’t have any reaction, and his body didn’t even retreat by centimeters. Those rays of lights had vanished silently just outside of Jiang Yi’s body.

“Your attacks are far too inferior. Die!”

Jiang Yi yelled coldly and sent the ten astral wind blades to slaughter. Ten Mammoth Race members radiated with blue light before they were effortlessly sliced up and turned into blood mist.

“Ah?”

When ten Mammoth Race members were torn apart, the four remaining Mammoth race members were terrified; and they looked at Jiang Yi with fear. One of them suddenly shouted out, “He is a devil. Hurry up and escape!”

Pong-Pong!

The four Mammoth Race members fled desperately. Jiang Yi sneered and controlled his astral wind blades to chase after them. The Mammoth Race was originally slow and had been caught up too easily. Subsequently, they were all turned into blood mists.

Swish!

Jiang Yi flew up and collected the fourteen floating ancient divine essence rings. He then released the Nine Heavens’ Dragon Flames to incinerate their corpses and blood before he rushed underground and escaped.

Spatial fluctuations during battles would attract surrounding martial artists. He didn’t want to kill, and if no one provoked him, he would never start a massacre. Of course, if he was provoked, he would be a devil from hell.

“Eh? These fools have three ice beast corpses. Great, I can give them to Mo Tian when I return, and we will be able to complete the task.”

Jiang Yi inspected the ancient divine essence rings and noticed there were plenty of miscellaneous items. He couldn’t be bothered to find out what were these items and simply destroyed all of them, only leaving the three ice beast corpses.

After traveling for a thousand miles and making sure that no one was chasing after him, Jiang Yi rushed out to the surface again and prepared to sense the icy snow dao pattern again.

Once he rushed to the surface, he scanned the area with his divine senses before he released his Divine Perception to scan again. His Divine Perception might only be able to scout 500 miles and had a weaker effect, but it was still better than not scouting at all. At least, he would be able to confirm if there were any army legions in the vicinity.

“Eh?”

When he was scouting, his body suddenly moved.

He discovered three ladies in the valley in the north. That valley had some special white herbs, and the three ladies were harvesting them. These three ladies had outstanding looks and were wearing white dresses like fairies. They had this unique aura, and a single glance at them would ingrain an impression into one’s mind.

“Ladies? Extraordinary aura? Are they Heaven Hidden Sect’s disciples?”

Jiang Yi’s eyes had abruptly widened. In the snow region, only the Heaven Hidden Sect was comprised of all female disciples. These three ladies with extraordinary auras were hard to find in regular sects. The trio might be Heaven Hidden Sect’s disciples.

“Go!”

Jiang Yi’s eyes were burning with fire, and he was extremely excited. His body turned into a whirlwind and skimmed to the north.
