Chapter 44: Aiena’s Miracle awakening #2

The priestess was taken aback by Aiena's quick and firm rejection and asked once again,

"Is it because you do not feel devotion towards God of Valor? There are other Goddess and Gods too you can be their Priestess…" but before she could speak any further Aiena interrupted with almost tearful eyes

"No!! I do not want to be a Priestess never!!"

The priestess was shaken by this firm and repulsive rejection as long as she remembers some people are willing to jump at the chance of being a priest or priestess even with a bit of miracle attribute affinity,

Aiena, Lana, and Ryu said bye to Priestess as they left for home, Aiena carried 5-year-old Ryu in her arm all the way to the house and Ryu fell asleep on the way.

Once they reached home Lina, who was going to welcome them from the kitchen section, was shocked at the blood-soaked clothes Ryu was wearing and rushed towards him from the kitchen section as soon as they entered the home,

"What happened to Ryu!? what is this blood? Is my baby hurt!?"

Before Aiena or Lana could answer, a low and cold voice came from Lina's back

"How?" Snow asked. It was only a single word, but everyone could feel that she was extremely angry.

After that Aiena and Lina explained what happened that got Ryu soaked in blood in a way that will make it seem like it was all unintentional and tried to put it in a way that Kit's mistake seem forgivable because they knew Snow would punish Kit in an unforgiving way, either way,

Kit was lucky he didn't have to visit that night for saying sorry, as in the dining room Snow's anger was creating a pressure that was felt even without her speaking anything,

To divert the topic in hopes of getting rid of pressure and continue the chat Lina spoke

"You know Lina big sister, something else amazing happened this morning too. Apparently, Aiena got a high affinity for Miracle attribute and can easily become a priestess!!"

She was successful in removing Snow's pressure as both Snow's and Lina's attention was shifted to Aiena at that moment, but

"I do not want… to be a… Priestess, I can't" Aiena began crying, for a girl who got her mother taken away by a Priestess. Becoming one was out of the question due to her trauma,

Lina hugged crying Aiena and began patting her.

After Aiena finally calmed down, she spoke in a low, sad voice

"I am sorry to cry suddenly, Lina big sister. I just cannot stop myself from remembering when my mama was taken away by the priestess. "

"No need to apologize Aiena, no one will force you to be a priestess. After all, you can live your life being my cute daughter forever," Lina said while pulling Aiena's cheeks.

While they all were discussing how Aiena got a high affinity for Miracle attribute, they thought it could be due to seeing Light Goddess in person but that theory was dismissed because none of them got high affinity, and then there was a knock on the door,

Aiena and Lana remembered that they forgot to tell Lina about the Priestess's visit.

"Who could it be at this hour of the night??" Lina wondered as she reached to open the door,

"Good evening, Lina… hope I am not bothering you with my visit this late at night," Priestess, who had a bag full of fruits, asked Lina with a smile,

"Ahh, you are welcome, sorry it would take a while to make dinner. I didn't expect you to visit tonight," Lina said as she received the fruits and welcomed the Priestess,

"I was invited by Lana for dinner tonight," Priestess said as she reached for the dining table,

"Just wait for a while at the dining table. I will warm up the food and serve it," Lina said to Priestess, and then turning towards Snow she said,

"Snow, can you give me a hand in the kitchen for a while? "

"Yes!" Snow replied enthusiastically as she enjoys helping out with the kitchen. She put Ryu on the table and told Aiena to wake him up as she left for the kitchen.

Priestess sat on the table where originally Hina used to sit, and when Aiena finally woke Ryu up he was surprised to be surrounded by three faces looking down on him first thing after waking up and he thought

'Am I going to be eaten now?'

Ryu's surprise subsided as he realized where he was

"Good evening," he said in a lowered voice to all the three faces that were staring at him,

"Good evening, Ryu. Did you have a nice dream?" Aiena asked,

"No dream, the body is fine" Ryu answered each of their questions, then he climbed down the table and left for the bedroom

"I am going to wear clean clothes," he said as he was climbing the stairs.

'Are 5 years old supposed to change clothes themselves!?' Priestess thought confused,

And she was more than shocked when Ryu came back from the bedroom perfectly changed in clean clothes, she thought it might be he was taught earlier than others to change clothes properly,

After waiting and talking for half an hour, food was finally served by Lina,

"Fel fruit is there for sweet after dinner today, thanks to our guest," Lina said, thanking Priestess.

Fel fruit is a fruit that is unique to the world of Pefrion. It looks like a thick and fleshy peach-colored fruit from the outside but from the inside, it is filled with a thick syrup that tastes like a mixture of honey and milk a really tasty fruit indeed.

Once they began eating, they talked about the discovery of Aiena's miracle attribute affinity. Priestess spoke

"I believe Aiena should become a Priestess. Her affinity with the Miracle attribute seems so high that she healed Ryu reflexively,"

The priestess was a bit worried that Aiena would again start rejecting instantly with teary eyes, but Aiena did nothing like that because Lina was holding her hand beneath the table.

The Priestess was crying by the end of the story and lowered her head towards Aiena. She spoke in a shaky voice

"It is okay Priestess sister, you didn't know about it," Aiena said as she urged Priestess to not lower while shaking her hands,

The dinner went quietly after it until the time of sweet came,

Lina brought Fel fruits and clean spoons for everyone from the kitchen and sat back.

Ryu was poking the fruit by the backside of the spoon and sucked the syrup out of the hole.

'Man if only this kind of fruit were present back on earth!!' he thought,

His mouth got some of the sticky syrup above his lips, and Aiena wiped it with a napkin when Priestess suddenly spoke

"I still cannot accept this; it is a waste to not learn miracle casting with this strong affinity,"

Lina, Snow, Aiena, and Ryu all looked toward her.

'I didn't expect her to be this thick-headed when she just heard Aiena's past,' Ryu scoffed

"I will not be priestess no matter what," Aiena replied in a firm manner, when her and Priestess's eyes were locked for a second Priestess spoke with a smug smile

"Then don't be a priestess, just learn miracle casting from me."

"I don't get what you mean?" Lina asked in place of Aiena to Priestess, who replied with a smug smile,

"You know many excommunicated Priest and priestess or those adventurer priests and priestess who marry become Cleric to earn their living, while they keep using Miracle casting with Cleric title,"

"So you mean…" Aiena said but before she could finish Priestess interrupted

"Yes, Aiena, you could learn miracle casting without being a priestess!!"

Hearing this, Aiena fell deep in thoughts 'What decision should I take? I think it is fine now.'

Priestess, seeing Aiena lost in thoughts, spoke in a low voice

"Think about it Aiena. If you learn it, you can help Ryu instantly in the future if he gets injured or sick,"

As soon as Aiena heard this, she instantly replied with shining eyes,

"Yes, I want to be a cleric."

"Nice, then you are my student from now onwards!!" said Priestess with a joyous smile as she thought

'Nice… it would've been bad if she didn't learn it'

After that, Lina, Lana, Ryu, and even Snow clapped for Aiena.

This was how Aiena started practicing miracle casting under Priestess's guidance.
