Chapter 39 Statue
Despite having high Agility and lethality, such an attack generally was a one-off. If this attack failed to finish off the enemy, the attacker would fall into a dangerous predicament.
After Eren’s death blow missed and due to his habits, his back was facing Odin. Since there weren’t any objects in midair, he was unable to stop and alter his direction.
Odin snickered as dozens of icicles formed. With a flick of his hand, the icicles darted at Eren’s back. Because Eren was unable to alter his direction, all of the icicles squarely stabbed into Eren’s body.
“Awoooh! Arh!” As Eren was still in his beast form, the excruciating pain caused him to release a beast-like howl.
The huge momentum behind the penetration of the icicles sent Eren crashing into the wall. The icicles nailed his body onto the wall and fresh blood was trickling out of his body.
“How is it? Is it painful?” Emotionlessly staring at the nailed Eren, Odin right now was akin to a cold-blood machine.
“Arh!!” The beastified Eren was still unable to let out a human voice. Screaming and howling at Odin were the only things he could do as he fell into a rampaging state. But the wounds on his body were too grievous, his howls slowly weakened. Soon, his head drooped, facing the ground while relying on his final bits of strength to survive.
Gradually, Eren’s beast mode ended while the icicles also vanished. The weakened Eren plopped onto the ground with soft breathing noise releasing from his nose. After the end of beast mode, his hands were restored to normal, the hands of a young boy. His current state was slightly pitiful as he lay on the ground.
“Let me ask you, is there anyone else in the HQ? Where’s the core location?” Odin squatted down. He narrowed his eyes, staring at the motionless Eren.
Eren didn’t respond to him as though truly dead.
Stomping his leg on Eren’s exposed hand, Odin was certain Eren had yet to die. When he attacked just now, he made sure to hold back to leave a final bit of strength on Eren, so Eren wouldn’t die immediately.
“Speak. If you don’t, I have ways to torment you.” In reality, Odin didn’t know how to torture people. He was just attempting to intimidate Eren.
“No one else…” A weak voice escaped Eren’s mouth. Not much strength was left in him, just uttering these three words was already painful enough for his internal organs to rupture.
“Where’s the core location?” Odin disregarded Eren’s being capable of speaking or not as he knew the worth of Eren was only this much. He wouldn’t show any mercy to the people of the Black Death Society.
“It’s…” Before Eren could finish his sentence, his head hung to the side, and slowly stopped breathing.
Odin clicked his tongue, How troublesome. If it wasn’t for wasting too much time just now, it’s possible to pry out the core location of this place. It’s far easier than searching every room one by one.
Removing his leg from Eren’s hand, Odin exercised his body before heading towards the HQ’s lobby to rest for a while.

No one could see cold sweats drenching his back as his physical body wasn’t around. Maintaining spirit form was strenuous on mental strength and Odin’s entirety was tensed after consecutively facing cumbersome enemies. Now, he finally relaxed before the fatigue assailed him.
Since no one in the HQ had expected Odin would barge into here, they didn’t prepare any defensive measures. Besides, they were uncertain of Odin’s prowess, so the alarm system failed to activate on time. Currently, others who were outside of the HQ were unaware their base was swept by Odin and still were guarding around the Blue Vine University.
Odin sneered internally at this bunch of people while gradually standing up from the chair. He was prepared to rummage the Black Death Society’s HQ upside down.
Circling a couple of times on the first floor, the door of every room was opened by Odin. But there weren’t any interesting things around. It was either a lodging room or some room used for cultivating. At the end of the hallway were several storerooms.
If there weren’t any secret rooms laying around, then the first floor had nothing to be intrigued about.
The Black Death Society’s HQ wasn’t that huge, but Odin didn’t believe it was a simple double-story mansion. There should be some hidden secrets somewhere that he failed to perceive.
Odin moved along to the second floor. The layout of the second floor was almost exact to the first floor, except he sensed there was something more than that.
Every room on the second floor had several objects related to the Crow God laying around. They seemed to be worshipping objects of the Crow God. At the center was a huge door, Odin pushed the door open. This place should be the place to worship the Crow God.
In the middle of the room was a statue of the Crow God surrounded by a circle of white candles. Looking at the color of the candles, they seemed to be newly replaced, which meant a worshipping had just been carried out this morning.
Odin aimed his disdain at the statue before rummaging through the objects placed on the altar. All of a sudden, he felt something protruding under the altar.
He fondled the protrusion several times because it was glaringly out of the place. It had a centimeter difference from other spots. With Odin’s keen senses, after fondling the protrusion, he was certain it was a hidden switch.
Generally, there shouldn’t be any dangerous hidden switch placed in a place that worships the statue. And, the button Odin touched just now had a smooth surface, indicating its constant usage by someone.
Scanning his surroundings and making sure there weren’t any noticeable things left, Odin pressed the button.
Suddenly, a sense of weightlessness blanketed Odin as though he was being tugged by something. Odin flustered slightly and struggled for a bit, but the vortex-like suction was too powerful. It was impossible to escape from it and soon, he fell unconscious.
When he woke up again, he realized he was standing in an odd location. The surroundings were transparent and he was stepping on a watery surface. There was no end in this space except for a single table in the middle. On the table was a hovering wooden object.
Since Odin was a distance away from the table, he wasn’t unable to have a clear look at the hovering wooden object.
He trudged over the table. Some dizziness from the vortex just now still remained, so everything seemed to be wobbly.
Slowly, he approached the table. As Odin squinted his eyes, the wooden sculpture was noticeably similar to the huge statue he had seen before. It was a miniaturized version of it.
