Chapter 47 Hidden Dangers

TL: Kyous

As the message box appeared before Odin, he knew he had mastered the ultimate move. However, he wasn’t as proficient as Cardory was but barely learned the skill. He practiced the skill a couple more times to allow his physical body to familiarize himself with it.

Despite knowing Odin’s perverted learning speed and great potential, Cardory still failed to imagine Odin would swiftly learn the ultimate move’s key point. Shaking her head, she revealed a bitter smile ruefully. Sometimes, she wished Odin was her family member, then the club might have a future. She believed Odin certainly would lead their club to the path of glory.

But…

“Do you really need to go to this western town?” Cardory was slightly worried. Going to an unfamiliar faraway place all of sudden, even without the threats from the Black Death Society, was still dangerous for Odin.

“There are no other options. If I don’t go, I won’t be able to graduate. I suspect someone was pulling the strings behind the scene but I have no evidence of it. Going there is the only choice, I’ll just count my every step.”

“Sigh.” Carlot let out a sigh, “We can still help you if it was somewhere near, but the western town is too far away. There’s nothing we can do. If there really is something you need help with, write a letter to us. We will use our connections here to help you.”

“Thanks, guys!” Tears almost welled up Odin’s eyes. Regardless of anything, this trio of siblings was the most trustworthy friend he made during his time at Blue Vine University. He finally managed to make some dependable friends.

“Anyway, you need to be careful when you’re there. With your capability and talent, I’m certain you’ll manage it.” Cardory smilingly nodded at Odin.

At this point, the misunderstanding between them was finally resolved and they reconciled.

Odin inquired Cardory regarding several details about the ultimate move and practiced the important details pointed out by her once more.

Looking at this, Cardory nodded her head. Every time she watched Odin practicing, his control of power and speed was improving constantly without pausing. In her decades of practicing martial arts, she never met someone as unique as Odin. When looking at Odin, she would always marvel as to why such a genius existed in this world.

After all, when she was learning the ultimate move, she took six months to barely master some techniques of the move. She was only capable of smashing a smaller piece of wood while it only took an hour for Odin to surpass her six-month worth of learning. Although she was jealous of it, she was more regretful about it.

Regretful as to why a person with great potential was dispatched by the university to a remote place in the west. Letting him remain in the central zone would be more useful instead.

“Can I have a wooden dummy to practice with? I can’t control my strength without a physical item.” Odin twisted his mildly sore wrist. The Strength and Constitution required by this ultimate move were in another league. It was glaringly different from the martial arts he practiced before.

“Sure, but you must control your strength. Remember not to be too impulsive, otherwise, you will easily injure yourself.” Cardory dragged a wooden dummy from the room’s corner and placed it in front of Odin.

Putting up his stance, Odin charged and ruthlessly choked the dummy’s neck just like Cardory did before beating the dummy. Within two minutes, the dummy released a snap sound and split in half from its center.

Its power wasn’t as destructive as Cardory’s demonstration just now, nonetheless Odin only learned for an hour. Being able to split the dummy in half was a commendable achievement. Cardory was stunned to speechless as she recalled she needed almost a year to split the dummy in half.

From Odin’s movements just now, she believed Odin had mastered the essential techniques behind the ultimate move. However, she didn’t believe Odin could utilize it in a real fight. As the dummy split in half, she laughed helplessly. Perhaps this was the gap between a commoner and a genius.

It was already four in the afternoon when Odin left Detroit Ground Combat Club. He had chatted with siblings for a while and told them the Black Death Society would continue targetting him. But, he didn’t mention his relationship with the church.

Odin was afraid the church would target the siblings too once he told them the church was monitoring him. It was fine it was just himself as he was leaving for the remote western town soon, but the siblings still needed to remain on campus. Once the church discovered Odin telling the siblings matters regarding the church, their club would be bulldozed to a flat ground.

Exiting the club, Odin took a deep breath. No matter the circumstances, life would still go on. Right now, he should be going to the train station to purchase the ticket to the west. If any later, the ticket booth would shut down for the day.

He walked along the path toward the station while spacing out. During the journey, he was deep in thought and barely noticed the surrounding noise. That was until someone abruptly patted his shoulder.

“Odin! What are you thinking about? I have to run towards you since you didn’t reply to me no matter how loud I shouted at you!” A boy was puffing and panting. Evidently, he ran quite a distance to chase after Odin.

“Adrian? Why is it you? Why are you looking for me?” Odin snapped out of thought and looked at the boy before him. Among his classmates, this boy has a rather amiable relationship with Odin.

“What are you doing right?” Adrian walked to Odin’s left side and walked with Odin together. Since he was bored, might as well walk with Odin.

“To buy a train ticket.” Odin bitterly smiled and slowed down to wait for Adrian.

“Train ticket? Where are you going?” Adrian was astonished as if uncertain why Odin was buying a train ticket.

“I’ve graduated and the university has arranged for me to work in a western town as the mayor. I’m preparing to buy the ticket for departure.” Odin stared at the confused Adrian and helplessly shook his head.

“What?! Did you say the university arranged for you to be the mayor? That’s impossible! Did you get the wrong news?” Adrian was further confused as he widened his eyes and had an expression of disbelief.
