When the Prince saw his 9th name-day, he had stopped writing entirely, much to his family’s curiosity. But his chambers are now filled with bundles of scrolls, all of them can’t be deciphered by the maester as the prince wrote strange languages that the maester have never seen before, the Martell’s maester asked the prince for enlightenment so that he could report it to the archmaesters at the citadel, but once again, the maester can’t understand it at all, the prince had told the maester about a powder that is similar to wildfire, yet without its dangers, but after that, the prince explained to the maester using strange symbols, and the maester couldn’t understand it. He later wrote to the citadel that he can’t decide if there’s any knowledge to be deciphered in those scrolls, as the prince was still young, and the possibility of the prince was talking nonsense was high, after all, a boy who had only reached his ninth name-day can’t just discover a weapon that is equal to wildfire out of nowhere, but later on, he would know that he is wrong.

After that, whispers started to spread that the young prince was going mad, that he had been possessed by a demon. “Nonsense” the Princess of Dorne spoke sternly, as a mother, she was extremely proud of the Prince, if she could, she would probably make Morian as her heir, but she respected the tradition, and Doran was still the Heir out of respect for her eldest son.

Even when the princess denies it, the whispers still continued, some say that it was one of her vassal that wanted to smear the name of house Nymeros Martell, but there was no proof, so the Martells didn’t dwell on it, instead, the Princess asked her now 26 year old heir, Prince Doran Martell. The man advised his mother that the boy should be fostered outside of Sunspear, “Morian never knew the outside world mother, and he never wanted to as far as I’m concerned, so force him to go outside” he said to his mother. The Princess was reluctant at first, as Morian was practically her favourite child, but she relented, on the condition that the boy will be fostered inside of Dorne itself, far away from the politics of the Throne. So Doran, who was training to be a ruling prince, sent a Raven to the other side of Dorne, to the lord of Starfall, Lord Beric Dayne.

And so the young prince travelled to Starfall, albeit he was reluctant, it was said that when her mother mentioned that he would be fostered at Starfall, his olive-skinned face turned pale, as if he was haunted by the ghosts of the pasts, to this day no one knows why he was scared, but nobody doubt that this fostering at Starfall would be a huge step in his life, as his mother said that when he came back, he was different, when he came back, his clear blue eyes are filled with determination and perseverance, until her death, she didn’t know what caused the change on her favourite child, but the Princess was sure for one thing, that the Prince grew close with one of Lord Dayne’s children, Lady Ashara Dayne of Starfall.

One of the Prince’s servants said to the Princess that ‘Ever since the young lady laid eyes on the Prince, she became attached to him, and him to her’. The Princess was certainly amused, the young and pensive prince finally made a friend, they might become more if fate was kind, though the Princess knows that it will be a bit of a waste, as the prince could be married to their northern neighbours for more ‘alliance power’.

It is said that when the Prince was fostered in Starfall, Prince Morian and Lady Ashara often sat together on top of the Palestone sword’s tower, the prince was reading one of his writings that he bundled into a book to the young lady, a tale about a boy named ‘Arthur’, who pulled a sword from a stone, and became king. The young lady has always been fascinated by stories, one of her favourites that the prince had told her was the story of Robin Hood and Lady Marian. One of the servants overheard Ashara ask Prince Morian. “Morian, Will you and I be able to be like them?” The prince just smiled. It was an innocent question, a question from a young girl to a young boy, but the prince already knew the implications. “Perhaps, Perhaps not.” he said, and the young lady grew sad when she heard the prince’s answer, as it was not a decisive answer.

And so the fostering at Starfall begins, there, prince Morian would learn many things, it was to be his coming of age, and when he came back to Sunspear, he is ready to bring Dorne to a new era of prosperity, and later on, he would later be the man who brought victory in the Dornish Independence War.
