Chapter 1: The Victim

It was a cold,starry night,everything was dark.

No matter how much I tried I couldn't stop running,it felt like somebody was after me ,chasing me for what felt like hours.

I was running for so long and then suddenly I stumbled upon a rock and fell face first on the ground,my consciousness fading to black.

 I woke up abruptly,I had been seeing this dream repeatedly for the past few weeks.

It had become a normal occurrence.I got out of my bed,brushed my teeth,ate a sandwich and then applied ointment on my wounds,the result of being bullied the other day,then I donned my uniform and got ready to go to school,before heading out,I told myself,"Avery you can do this".On the way to school I saw really weird people on the bus,wearing black coloured robes and black coloured face veils,I just ignored it and went on with my day.

As soon as I arrived to school,I heard someone yelling my name and saying "Avery come quickly class is gonna start soon" that was my best friend Zoe.She was really kind and was my only friend in this prestigious school,her family was also rich but they only adored her brother and ignored her,we were there for each other in all of our bad times.

"Ding Ding" the bell rang,"Avery come on we are going to be late for our biology class",Zoe said.

"Avery you are always late for class",Zoe said. As we entered our class and sat on our assigned places, and after some time for the biology teacher not arriving to the school the headmistress came in our class and told us that our biology teacher had taken an off today as he had a fever.As I was doing my work a girl came up to me,that was my bully Sil.She told me to meet her in the alleyway behind the school after offtime.I was scared but I obliged.I told Zoe about what had happened in the class and she assured me that Sil couldn't do anything to me as I submitted a note to the headmistress telling how Sil has bullied me.

I was wrong,as soon as I arrived in the alleyway somebody pinned me down from the back onto the concrete floor.It was Sil's minions,Sil told me how the note had no threat to her as her parents funded the school and no one could do anything to her,she then started beating me mercilessly and then brought out a  burning iron and put it on my naked back,as Sil was about burn me again with the iron I pushed one of the girl that was holding me down and started to run in any direction I could but I felt weak in my body as the pain was unbearable. I ran as fast as I could not realizing where I was,I was somehow beyond the town's boundaries in the forest,it felt like I was in my dreams again,I was running from a person in the forest and not stopping like I would die,just like my dreams I stumbled upon a rock and fell ,my conscious fading away,as I was about to blackout,my vision was blurry but I saw four to five people standing above me and talking about something,I couldn't hear them clearly and the suddenly I woke on my bed in my room.

I thought this was a dream again but then I woke up and saw five people standing beside my bed and one of them was Zoe.She told me how I had powers.I looked at her and started laughing like menace but she was dead serious.I also stopped laughing and started to look at them with a serious face.Then she demonstrated her power as she had the power to mind control.There were 4 more people with her,they introduced them to me.
