A caravan made out of several carriages was slowly making their way in the Nambi Desert.
Most people wouldn't choose this route because the danger and climate was too risky for cutting 2-3 days of travel.
The days were hot and the nights cold. The living beings in it were mostly small and extremly poisonous. A sting from a Watcher Scorpion could eliminate a Foundation realm cultivator within 1 day.
In the middle of the carriages was one which stood out. It wasn't made for pulling cargo, it was more of a moving house.
Inside it were 3 people standing around a bed with a middle-aged man lying unconscious.
"Young master, I know the life of master is in danger but to travel throught the Nambi Desert is a risk many of our guards don't want to do."
An aged man looking around 60 years old said to the teenage boy beside him. It wasn't the first time the guard captain told him that.
He couldn't even blame him or the other guards. They already lost eight people to this desert.
"It doesn't change the fact that were almost halfway through it Captain Pan. You don't have to worry. As soon as my father is saved by the healers in the capital I shall compensate you all and the families of the ones who laid there life here."
Captain Pan just sighed. He served the Falnor family since he could remember. The man lying on the bed was the master of the household, Rick Falnor.
The teenager beside him was the first son of the Falnor family, Steve Falnor. There was also the maid Flavia in the carriage but as if she was non-existent, she neither said anything or moved.
"I will relay your words to the others young master" Captain Pan bowed and left the carriage. Steve watched Pan leave and changed his gaze to Flavia.
"Did I do the right thing, Flavia? I know very well that father wouldn't want to have peoole die for him. He looked after them all like he looked after me, it's just my heart can't lose another person."
Flavia on the side just bowed " I live for the Falnor household, I die for the Falnor household"
Steve couldn't help bit shudder, he knew how his father picked up a little girl from a slave trader circle which he busted. Since than she was part of their family, he even saw her as his big sister.
"Flavia...I told you to stop that, you know father wouldn't want that."
A voice was heard outside which announced something unexplainable.
"Building in front!"
Inside the building which the caravan scout saw was a man who looked no more than 25.
Hair bound into a ponytail, raven black and smooth. His eyes were deep and if one gazed too long into it they would fall into a trance.

He was sitting on a chair while reading a book. He knew that his first clients would be here soon. It was just that he had one little problem.
How should he greet them. A welcome to my store or a nice to meet you? The last time he had an conversation was over 800 years ago and only because one of his true friends came and told him to get some rest.
He fought agains the Demons for several thousand years without a rest. He could just shut of his brain and fight.
He didn't like fighting but he didn't like talking to strangers even more.
"Hmm, a mental trauma, 3 people with fractures and almost everybody has a overworked. They seem to be in a hurry? Ohh now that's weird. A mind which was tempered with? Only someone from the middle or upper realm could do that. Ahh let's see what they want first."

"Young master stay here, I will look inside."
Captain Pan was on edge, a store in the middle of the Nambi Desert called General Store? If fishy isn't the right word, maybe unbelievable is the better.
"I trust you uncle Pan but as the head of the family for the moment I have to go too. Flavia you come too"
"Yes, young master"
Captain Pan just sighed, as long as he lived he would protect Steve with his life.
The trio descended the carriage which parked several meters beside the building.
A wooden house with a sign which said "General Store". The building wasn't fancy or anything. The best description would have been, mediocore.
Captain Pan walked in front and pushed the door open. A little bell made the customers visit know to whoever was inside.
Once Captain Pan saw the inside he was a little perplexed. There were shellfs but no items on it. His awarness skyrocket to any ambush who could come.
Steve and Flavia walked inside after Pan and they too were puzzled. A store with no items?
That was when a voice, which sounded almost robotic, sounded in their ears.
"Welcome to the General Store! What do you need? Some water and food for your journey? Some pills who can help with the people with fractures? Maybe the antidote for the poisoned person in the carriage or a session of meditating for the young lady to disspell the tempering of her mind? You want something we got it! The prices are low too!"
Even before the voice had finished their part. Pan drew his sword. Steve his wand and Flavia on the side had a hint of killing intent in it.
Tal was confused after seeing the reaction of his first customers. Did he say something wrong? Ohh he knew!
"I could also help with the mental trauma of the young boy there! Still cheap if you compare to other stores!"
