Chapter 15: Vol. 0: I Lost || Chapter 14 Shocking News

 The sun has greeted it warmly.  The loud noises of the neighbors, the vehicles coming in and out of the apartment grounds made Astan squirm.  Astan glanced at the clock on the wall that was rigidly attached and showed 6:00 am. Astan came out with a towel around his neck, just as he closed the bedroom door, he thought of Rei.  When Astan checks into Rei's room, he doesn't find anything at all. Astan closes the door again and walks away, getting ready for his morning routine. After finishing, Astan goes to work.  Along the way, Astan continued to stare at the streets that were crowded with vehicles.

 A few minutes had passed, the bus that Astan was riding stopped at the C-3 District stop.  As usual Astan cleans the entire office. When finished, Astan sat down with a limp face because he was still worried about Rei.  When Astan was silent in his daydream, Endra was standing in front of him. By leaning against the wall and folded hands. Endra cleared his throat with a loud voice that made Astan wake up from his daydream.

 "What is it?"  asked Astan.

 “I should be the one asking, why are you making such a face and daydreaming?  Did something happen?” asked Endra worriedly.

 "It's okay, I'm just worried about Sis.  Rei. That's all," replied Astan who tried to smile.

 "Ah, fine then.  Can you help me?"  asked Endra again. Astan happily stood up from his seat, "What is it?"  asked Astan.

 Endra asks Astan to follow him to an empty table.  Endra gave a brown envelope to Astan who had a confused face.  Endra briefly explained the situation of the office and employees who had expired contracts.  He gave an explanation and handed a paper containing the address of the recipient of the brown envelope.  Don't forget to give Endra a vehicle key and tell him where it's stored. Astan stands in front of a cream-colored scooter with a black box.  Two colors that don't fit in at all, but that's not a problem. Astan rushes to the motorbike, puts a brown envelope in a black box, turns it on and sprints away.

 On the way Astan tries to overtake other vehicles.  It wasn't long before Astan arrived in front of a gate, a large inscription was clearly visible, namely 'District D-6'.  Astan walked over to the security post to provide identity and check. After he finished, he continued his journey through the unkempt and very old buildings.  The concrete walls are covered in ink scribbles of various colors, the people dress very eccentrically and freely. The reason they look like that is because the D-6 area is very free, contains mafia, thugs, prostitution, and many more.  Astan has found an old simple building which is a restaurant. Astan walked in, greeted by a man and woman who were in their 50s.

 It was clear that the two of them were looking forward to his arrival.  Astan hands over the brown envelope and waits a few seconds for them to open it.  After that, Astan said goodbye. However, the woman asked him to wait a moment. No need to wait long, the woman returned with a cloth bag.  With an awkward smile Astan accepted it and quickly said goodbye. Without realizing it, Astan was in the parking lot of the office building, rushed to the office, gave the gift to Endra who was in the middle of the room with the employees and boss.  They all wore gloomy faces and lowered their heads without daring to raise them. Astan, who was surprised by his co-workers, could only give them a questioning look. Arrived when Astan saw Hendrik sitting down with a sad face.

 Hendrik approached Astan, asked him to enter the study.  Once inside, Astan sits and waits for Hendrik to speak. A few words could be heard, a news that made Astan's face turn dark.  Hendrik gave his smartphone. There is a telephone number that Astan knows very well, namely Rui Akarina. Astan took the cell phone and spoke to Rui who was heard sobbing.  Astan put on a serious face while conversing with Rui, but the next second. A sad look appeared in Astan's eyes. Weakly Astan returned the phone to Hendrik. Astan leaves without bringing his backpack, until he is in front of a room with so many bouquets of flowers.  Astan walked slowly, standing right in front of the framed photo.

 Unknowingly water started to fall from Astan's eyes.  A pair of Astan's eyes saw the girl's sweet smile in the photo frame.  One sentence slipped from Astan's mouth, "Sorry." That was the one word that came out in a low voice.  As Astan looks right into Rei's eyes, he throws them away and tries not to cry. However, Astan is overcome by his feelings of sadness, anger, and guilt.  Crying profusely, fell on her knees with both hands holding her knees. At that moment, a woman who is Rei's twin hugs Astan with a pale face and looks tired.  The two of them burst into tears and filled the entire room. Now they were in a burial ground, all silent with sad faces.

 However, not with Astan who just stood with an expressionless face, his eyes looked so cold.  After the funeral service was over everyone scattered away, while Astan lasted a few minutes to stare at the mound in front of him.  Astan was even silent when a hand touched his left shoulder, but seconds later he turned his head. He saw Endra dressed in all black and carrying a backpack in his left hand.  They were silent for a while, until Astan turned and left. Without saying anything, Endra followed Astan until they were in a car. It didn't take long for them to be in the apartment where Astan lived.  Without saying a word, Astan just goes into the room and locks it.

 Astan doesn't care about Endra, he just sleeps and covers his whole body with a blanket.  Without making a sound Astan again let out too many tears that he forgot and fell asleep. Night has come, the blue sky is no longer visible.  Astan slowly sat up, looking around the quiet room. Although the sound of the vehicle is ear-piercing, Astan feels quiet. With slow steps Astan came out and found food on the table.  A woman walked over with a large bowl and placed it on the table. The woman gave a smile to Astan who was still standing. Astan walked slowly closer and sat in silence, without returning Rui's smile.

 Astan begins to eat his dinner in silence, only the ticking of the clock, the singing of spoons, and the two of them breathing.  After dinner is over, Astan leaves without a word. However, Astan's steps stop when Rui asks him to spare a moment. Without refusing Astan sat back down and bowed deeply.  This is because Astan is reluctant to look at Rui's face. Rui looked gently at Astan who was hiding his face.

 “Sister knows, you feel sad and guilty.  But, you can't go on like that. I also feel lost, but if we fall too much.  Then it will be difficult to walk. I'm sure, Rei also wants you to keep going."  Rui said as he reached into his sling bag. Take out a light blue gift box and a white envelope.

 “Earlier, I went into Rei's room and found a contact along with a white envelope.  Looks like it's for you, I've cleaned Rei's room. So you can choose which items to donate or keep.”  After that Rui stood up to clear the dining table.

 Astan, who heard all this, was silent, occasionally glancing at the blue city and the white envelope in front of him.  For a long time Astan just stared at him, until a few minutes later. Astan picks it up and rushes into Rei's room which has been lit by a lamp.  Astan looked around the room, stepped over to the bed and sat quietly. Astan slowly opens the gift box, a silver watch caught by Astan's vision. He took and opened a white envelope containing a brown letter.  Read letters in silence and focus. Even though he wanted to cry again, he couldn't and kept holding it in.
