Chapter 126: End of the meeting

Seth returned to the alleyway rooftop and chuckled before asking the system: ‘How is it?’

Seth feigned confusion and asked: “What happened?”

Katy explained everything that had happened with the thugs before saying: “I promise, Seth, I didn’t imagine it. I know I killed that man. What should I do? If anyone finds out I killed someone inside the city, I will get in even more trouble.”

Seth sighed and softly consoled her: “Don’t worry much about it. From what you said, some ascended was definitely involved, but since you are still alive while everyone else is dead, I’m sure you’ll be fine.”

“That ascended must have stumbled upon you and decided to save you from your situation, so I’m sure no one will make any trouble for you.”

Katy nodded but still looked worried, and Seth surprised her by pulling her into his arms and gently massaging her back. “I’m sorry that happened to you, but I’m happy you are alright.”

Katy nodded, tears forming in her eyes as she accepted Seth’s warm gesture and enjoyed the comfort of his embrace.

After ten minutes, Seth released her from his hug and wiped the tears still at the corner of her eyes before asking: “Are you feeling better?”

Katy nodded while biting on her lower lip and remained silent.

“Good. Let’s grab something to eat. I’m sure you must be famished.”

After Katy nodded again, Seth led her to the dining room, where he bought some food for both of them. After eating something, Katy looked a lot better, and Seth asked: “Do you have any idea why those guys came for you?”

Katy shook her head and said: “I don’t know. I’ve never seen them before.”

“Then how did you manage to end up alone with them?”

“I was bored and went to walk around the city. I was not really paying attention to where I was walking, so I don’t even know how I ended up in that alleyway.”

Seth sighed and said: “From now on if you want to go for a walk, come and let me know. I’ll join you to make sure nothing like that happens again.”

“But aren’t you busy? I don’t want to bother you.” Said Katy, her cheeks blushing subtly.

The two chatted for a bit more before Katy promised to inform him if she intended to walk around the city and returned to her room to rest. Seth also returned to his and continued cultivating.

Soon, the fourth day of the meeting began, and Seth resumed his stalking behavior but with a bit of a hassle. Katy seemed intent on using Seth’s words against him and appeared to invite him for a walk at first light.

Since he promised, Seth had no choice but to follow the meeting while also working to entertain Katy.

The meeting went on as usual, with neither Ronald nor any other king doing anything strange, but Seth continued listening.

In the evening, after Ronald declared the end of the fourth day, he asked both Lorin and Iwan to remain after sending the other kings back to their inn.

Lorin and Iwan exchanged a look and nodded. Once only Ronald, Iwan, and Lorin were left, Iwan asked: “Is this about Seth?”

Ronald nodded and said: “Indeed, but we must also deal with Oath. Icas and Theodor are both acting suspiciously, so I’m afraid we can’t rely on them for this. As for Adalwolf, he’s a complete idiot, so he might be even more dangerous than the other two.”

Both Iwan and Lorin nodded before Lorin asked: “And what do you suggest? Do you have a plan?”

“Do you want us to send spies to Blood?” asked Iwan.

“There’s no way we can send spies into the wolf’s den. Lorin, I want you to try and get some spies into Oath instead. When you leave for your kingdom, I’ll give you enough gold to hire a second shell air ascended from Life for this mission.”

Lorin nodded and asked: “What do you want to find out from Oath?”

“Everything that has been happening recently. Also, try to find out if there’s any information about anyone named Seth. Even if I’m over 90% sure he’s actually from the Council, the simultaneous cleansing of spies in Blood and Oath still doesn’t sit well with me.”

“Sure. I’ll take care of it.” Replied Lorin.

Ronald turned towards Iwan next and asked: “How are things between Noth and Pain?”

“Good. My daughter is set to marry their crown prince, so they are willing to help us. Do you need anything from them?”

Ronald nodded and said: “I need you to try and get their fleet ready to travel to either Blood or Oath. Since our armies are enough to deal with the blood race, I want us to be ready to attack one of them right after the blood race is dealt with, or maybe even faster, depending on what the spies in Oath discover.”

“Attack Blood?” asked Iwan with a frown. “Are you sure that is wise? We still don’t know anything about Seth’s abilities. Also going against the Council….”

“We’ll only move forward with this plan if my hunch is right and he’s not with the Council. As strong as he might look, I know that he’s only a fourth shell ascended. Compared to that monster of Oath, he’s still manageable. If he is indeed with the Council, we’ll move to attack Oath once and for all.”

“But if he’s part of Oath, won’t Iris run to his rescue once we attack?” Asked Lorin.

“That’s why I want to travel by sea. This way, we can attack swiftly, and Oath won’t have the time to react. With him being an ascended of the fourth shell, as long as we succeed in the attack, we’ll be able to get the knowledge we need from him.”

Iwan smiled and nodded: “That’s not a bad plan. What will you be doing?”

“I’ll send spies into Loss and Wrath. I feel Seth might somehow be involved with them, so I want to check out that angle. At the same time, I’ll work on securing some fourth shell ascended from Love and Death Kingdoms in the north if we move on Blood. They are definitely cheaper than fifth shell ones.”

After everyone nodded in excitement, Ronald said with a grave face: “Good, then that’s settled. Also, I want everyone to make sure what we spoke about here doesn’t leak out. If possible, ensure the plans are carried out by yourselves or people you trust 100%. We can’t afford Seth finding out anything about it.”

Seth was back in his room by now, with a broad smile as he listened to Ronald’s plans.

The fifth and final day of the meeting came, and all the kings went over their plans again. After the meeting, their agendas remained hidden from the public, and all the kings started planning their departure from New Hope.

As the convoy had just started heading back south, the atmosphere inside the food staff carriage was as merry as always.

One of the girls, Sana, looked between Seth and Katy since they were sitting next to each other and asked with a broad smile: “So Katy, did you two do anything? I could swear I kept seeing you heading to Sir Otis’s room.”

The other women also looked towards Seth and the blushing Katy with inquisitive looks.

Feeling Katy tugging on his sleeve, Seth opened his eyes and looked around at the women staring at him. “I’m sorry to disappoint you, ladies, but nothing like you imagined happened between Katy and me.”

The women looked suspiciously at Seth but then noticed Katy lowering her head even lower, and Sana said: “No way. You didn’t do it? Not even a touch or something? If your thing is not working, sir Otis, I know a few herbs that might help.”

Seth’s eyebrow twitched, and he was about to reply when Katy said: “Sana, stop it. It is not like that. Otis is… taken.”

“So what if he’s taken? No man with a properly working tool could keep himself in check with such a lovely girl as yourself next to him. Not to mention for such a long time. Come on, Otis, don’t be shy. I promise those herbs to work wonders. I gave a man some of those herbs, and he had me for two continuously blissful days until it finally fell asleep again.”

Noticing that even Katy was looking suspiciously towards his crotch, Seth sighed and used perfect body control to make himself hard, stunning all the women in the cart with the snake that started bulging along his leg under the pants. He also made it extra long and thick to ensure it was noticeable.

After a collective gulp from the women, Seth closed his eyes and said: “I hope the matter is settled now.”

Thinking it was over, Seth started cultivating again when he heard another wave of muttered discussions.

“No wonder they didn’t do anything. Sir Otis might rip poor Katy in two with that monster.”

“I wouldn’t mind taking it for a round or two. I never had one that big.”

“Same here, but what do we do after? Will other men be able to fill the gap?”
