‘But who could even steal death from the spirit well link?’ asked Hollie with a frown.
‘It must be that thing in the north. The horror that corrupted the treasure of life and put an end to the human race’s immortality.’ Said Seth.
Hollie nodded. ‘That would make sense. But was it that strong? Yggdrasil was a god, so she stealing two energies from the spirit well would make sense, but for a demigod to do the same...’
‘But there’s no other explanation.’
‘Whatever, let’s say that’s what happened. So perception and lust were being absorbed inside Yggdrasil’s body, and death also got stolen, leaving humans as nothing more than incomplete souls comprised of life energy and their physical bodies. How did the spirit well return the lust and perception to our world? Creating a new link doesn’t make sense after all.’ Asked Hollie.
‘If it is an entity made of four different wills, it might have broken… I see now.’ Said Seth with a sigh, a small smile appearing on his lips.
‘What is it?’ asked Hollie.
‘We were partially wrong from the start. The spirit well can’t be a god of this world since Yggdrasil already had a divinity over life and death. It might still carry a divinity, but it has from the outside. If we assume the spirit well couldn’t create another link to our world and still wanted to fix the damaged souls, it could only rip parts of its divinity and have them come to this world.’
‘You mean the spirit well broke its divinity and sent the parts ruling over lust and perception here? Why would it do that?’ asked Hollie.
‘I don’t know, but it explains a lot. Those two must carry a part of its divinity. That’s why they are so much stronger than any other energy and also so… capricious.’
‘They were sent here to mend the human race, and as the human souls started becoming complete again, they also began generating more of their energies, but their souls were still not complete without death…’ Said Hollie.
‘… so as they were winning the war against the horrors, they sought the entity that stole death on their own. That’s where the treason of the human race originated from. This completed the missing link and made humans what they are today, but in turn, gave that horror ruling over life as well.’ Continued Seth.
‘The question remains… why is that thing releasing life and death energy in the world instead of just keeping it all to itself? The spirit well now courses right through it, so it should stand to reason for it to want to hog all that energy to itself.’
‘It must have another plan, but sadly in the past timeline, it got destroyed with the rest of the world before I could figure it out. Thanatos probably doesn’t know either… He’s, after all, just a puppet of the horrors.’
Hollie nodded: ‘We need to destroy that thing again before it can complete its plan.’
‘We should still have a few eons. It didn’t act in the past timeline, so I doubt it will now.’
Hollie nodded again. ‘At least we figured some things out. Also, Seth, this might be a crazy idea, but what if you broke your sources and cultivated life and death?’
Seth smiled and shook his head: ‘It’s too late for that now, and it will serve no purpose. I doubt the spirit well will hand me the crown on a silver platter. It’s now helping me, but it might consider me an enemy if I do that. There’s also Yggdrasil. Also, two crowns are already more than enough. I can’t possibly bear the burden of three… not to mention one at the level of the spirit well.’
Hollie sighed and nodded: ‘I guess you’re right. Also, there’s something you’re not telling me. How did you get rid of whatever was censoring us? It did that even as I talked to myself, which got incredibly annoying. Having to do all the research inside your mind, unable to speak or take notes...’
‘I think the Tower censors the entire world or even the universe. It can’t stop you from thinking about it since that happens inside your soul, but it can stop it from being spoken about out loud or noted down by altering the records. Inside my soul, there’s a link to the Tower, which it was using to censor our connection, so I just shut the link down for a while.’
Hollie frowned. ‘So that’s how you’ve been able to monitor the entire war so well. Wasn’t the Tower supposed to be a neutral entity?’
‘That’s what I knew as well, but who knows what it really is… no matter what, I still need it, for now, so everything we spoke here will remain between us. For the moment, it’s still behaving, but we can’t afford to have that thing ever move against us.’
Hollie nodded with a severe look. ‘Will do. I’ll keep looking into it anyway. The spirit well might prove useful if we ever find ourselves pinned against the Tower.’
Seth nodded and then smiled as he asked out loud, changing the subject entirely. “By the way, what happened with you and the other girls?”
Hollie quickly picked up on the change of topic and answered with a sigh: “Don’t even mention it. I don’t know what they told you, but they wanted to charge in there… From what I know about Thanatos from your memories, that thing will have wiped everyone out, but they didn’t want to listen to reason, so we got into an argument…”
“They were just worried.” Said Seth, rubbing her back. “Can you please let it go? I’m sure they are remorseful as well.”
Hollie shrugged and said, “I don’t really care that much, but it was a bit annoying since Alice was the only one to agree with me. I won’t make it difficult for them, but I still want Maya to make it up to me. She threatened to lock me up in the dungeon if I didn’t leave….”
Seth sighed and nodded: “I’m sure she will. What about Elise?”
Hollie chuckled and said: “I like her a lot. I went shopping with her when I was looking for you. After finding a decent ascended from Death, we yeeted her and had Elise take over. We did some experiments on ways to break energy will and had her break the poor ascended’s soul.”
“The energy dissipated when the soul was broken, so we confirmed that controlling energy without a will attached to it is impossible. After that, we kept kidnapping ascended from the border with Death, and doing more experiments. We’ve been having a lot of fun.”
“You two have a strange sense of fun, but as long as she’s happy… Did you figure anything out?”

Hollie shook her head: “Sadly, no. Without a will to control that energy, just making use of your soul seems impossible.”
“What if you understood the whole concept of that energy?” asked Seth.
Hollie blinked twice in surprise and asked: “To test that, we need Elise to learn a complete concept. Do you want Elise to learn the complete knowledge of a concept? She will probably kill herself if we told her.”
Seth chuckled and nodded: “She might, but I’ll try to convince her when we have the time. It will be a good experiment.”
“But your only complete knowledge is in destruction. Even if successful...”
“I know… it won’t help the others, but it’s still good to know. It will be a good safety net if lust and perception fail us.”
“Maybe. We can try it as long as you bring Ellie into it.” Said Hollie before sighing and lowering her head: “I heard Leora met her… and you did too. Are you alright?”
Figuring what she was referring to, Seth smiled and asked: “Are you worried about me?”
Hollie lowered her head: “I am. I know how much it hurt you what you did to her….”
“Don’t worry. What happened then won’t happen again. There’s no need for me to take that trial now.”
“But what about the other trials? What if their requirements are just as…”
Seth bent down, kissing Hollie’s lips gently. “Then we’ll find another way. I’m not giving up on anyone again, definitely not on any of you or Panther.”
Hollie nodded and started moving her hand over Seth’s chest, traveling toward his pants. “I trust you, Seth. Enough with the serious talk… shouldn’t we start speaking about my reward?”
Seth sighed and grabbed her hand: “Before that… Please speak with the others. I don’t like you being mad at each other. Once that is done, I’ll make it up to you.”
Hollie looked up with a wronged face: “But the others already got a taste… can’t I get a quick one before that? I like looking into new things and researching the soul, but I’ve been missing sex as well.”
Finding no way to argue against that, Seth sighed and nodded: “But a quick one. Once everyone gets here, we’ll all start cultivating inside an energy spring. Then, we’ll have a lot of time to spend together.”
Hollie nodded and started playing with Seth’s tool: “If we do that, what about the empire and your parents? We can’t have everyone missing for a long time…”
“I’ll come out once a week or so to spend some time with my parents. As for the kingdoms, we’ll have humans placed on those thrones and have Asteria teachers and students handle the separation of power.”
“The Kingdoms all respond to Endora but will be ruled internally by humans from their kingdoms. Asteria will build branches into every kingdom, focusing on supporting and protecting the humans until technology reaches a high enough level so that ascended support won’t be necessary, relegating them to only protect against possible ascended attacks.”
Hollie eventually began sucking on Seth’s item as she listened to him speak. After he finished, she lifted her head and licked her lips: “That is fine, but who will you put on the throne?”
“Change will be implemented slowly, moving towards a voting system. It’s not perfect, but having leaders change in terms will still work better.”
“For Wrath, Curse, and Noth, that system can be implemented right away; as for the others, the change will happen slower.”
“For Oath, Henrietta will keep her throne and designate Cain and Molly to keep watch while she’s gone.”
“In Loss, we’ll let Theodor keep the throne a bit longer and even have him install the voting system in the meantime.”
“As for Sorrow, I’ll ask Ava if she wants the throne or to join us in cultivating. If she joins us, we’ll have Dan watch over it; if she wants the Kingdom for herself, she can have it.”
Hollie stopped gobbling on Seth’s rod again to ask:" What about here?"
“We’ll declare our seclusion and have the knights handle important matters. If something urgent happens, I’ll find out using the Tower link and come out to lend a hand. I’ll also visit my parents for a few hours a week or every two weeks, so there shouldn’t be any issues.”
With a nod, Hollie stood up and started climbing up Seth’s body.
“That should work. We got into another serious topic again, so no more words from here on.”
