Chapter 23: Pearl Valdez

“Good day, sir. How may I be of service?” asked a pretty young woman as soon as he appeared on the doorsteps of the brothel.

Her outfit was quite revealing, but Seth felt it was still child’s play compared to what Maya usually wore. Seth smiled at her and said: “Can you let me look at the girls you have here?”

“Right away, sir. Follow me.”

Seth followed her and the woman asked: “Can I ask what type of girls sir would be more interested in? We have girls who range from the legal age up to 50 years old. We also have virgins and others that are more experienced. Also, if sir has some special pleasures, we even have slaves that won’t resist anything sir wants to do.”

Looking through the room, he saw a petite girl in one of the cages. She had a small black mark on the left side of her face, but that didn’t take away any of her still-blooming beauty. With her pink-tinged hair and deep red eyes, she gave off an extremely exotic feeling. She was also the one who struggled the hardest against the chains that were used to bind her legs and arms.

Pointing towards her, Seth asked: “That one. I want to buy her from the brothel.”

The woman led Seth to a room in the basement that looked no different from a torture room before taking her leave. Looking at all the devices in the room, Seth shook his head as he lay on the bed.

It took ten minutes until two brothel employees brought the cage holding the girl inside. Seth sent them out and approached the feral girl.

Looking at those eyes that seemed to burn a hole through his soul, Seth said: “Pearl Valdez, the youngest child of the Valdez family. The king your family swore to serve locked them all in the kingdom’s dungeons. The servants of the family all died getting you out of the city and leading you to the border Oath kingdom. There, the knights of the Oath Kingdom killed the only servant that arrived with you before selling you as a slave for the brothel.”

The girl’s eyes kept changing as he listened to Seth describing her entire story, all kinds of emotions appearing on her face, but there was also a deep fury that never disappeared throughout the entire story.

“Fine.”, said Seth as he used a wave of destruction energy to remove the entire cage.

Massaging her ankles, the girl remained sitting with her eyes fixed on Seth. He ignored her completely as he stood up and sat back on the bed.

“We’re going to have to sit here for a while so they won’t suspect anything. You can come to sit down as well.”

“No. I’ll stay here.”

Seth stood there for two hours with the girl in silence as he looked through her story more deeply. Once the two hours were up, he stood up and dragged a sheet off the bed with him before saying: “Have a pleasant sleep.”

The girl was confused, but before she could reply, she fell to the ground and remain unmoving with a blank look in her eyes. Seth used time energy to freeze her consciousness completely.

Wrapping her up in the sheet he took from the bed, he created some red-colored water to smear both the sheet and her face before placing her on his shoulder and walking out of the room.

‘Time to make some negative perception.’ Putting a perverted smile on his face, he made his way upstairs. The customers and employees all gave him looks of disgust and repulsion, but Seth was only basking in the energy he was receiving.

After thanking the woman who led him to the underground room, he walked out of the brothel and started walking towards the academy while carrying the unconscious pearl on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

Since he couldn’t enter through the front gate of the academy, he approached one of the side walls, the closest to his room, and teleported inside. This spent his entire energy since he had to carry another human with him.

Once inside, he used the system’s help and successfully walked back into his room while avoiding everyone. When he released the time freeze on her brain, Pearl said: “What do you…”

She stopped mid-sentence as realized she was not in the same room as before.

“What? Where? How?” she was flabbergasted, not able to make any sense of what was going on.

“You’re inside the academy. I put you to sleep and dragged you here. Don’t move.”

The girl nodded, her brain not able to make any sense of everything that was happening. She knew about ascended, and she also knew that Seth was one of them, but nothing more.

Seth used destruction energy to clean her up and destroy the sheet before creating a simple set of clothes for her. The girl watched the magic show in silence, her brain already giving up on comprehending anything by now. She also didn’t seem ashamed about being naked.

“Stay here and rest. You must be exhausted. I have some stuff to take care of and I’ll return later. If a red-headed woman comes here, tell her you are one of my students and I’ll explain it to her later. Reveal nothing about what happened or create any trouble. Understood?”

The girl nodded and Seth walked out of the room, leaving the confused girl to calm her thoughts. Walking into the storage space of the dormitory, he created a bed for Iris so that she would stop pestering him before going to her place to let her know.

Knocking on her door, he waited for a few seconds before her voice came from inside. “Enter.”

Iris was once more looking through some papers and asked: “What?”

“I’ve brought the bed you asked for. It’s in the storage area of the dormitory building.”

Hearing Seth’s voice, she lifted her head from the papers and asked: “Why didn’t you bring it here?”

“I didn’t know if I would even find you here…”

Iris nodded, not asking about it anymore before saying: “Come here. I want to ask your opinion on something.”

Seth approached, and Iris pushed a document in front of him. It was a report about the men he killed today, specifically the ones who he killed by shooting a stake of destruction energy through their hearts.

“Can destruction energy do this?” asked Iris right away, her eyes never leaving Seth’s face.

“Yes.”, replied Seth, looking back at her, his face indifferent. “Are these from the men in the market?”

“Indeed.”, said Iris, heaving a sigh of relief. She couldn’t see any reaction on Seth’s face, so her suspicions eased up slightly. “That’s all. You can go back now.”

Seth nodded and stood up to exit her office. When he opened the door, he heard her from behind. “I don’t know if this was you or not, but I suggest you be careful. The royal family is not happy and they already know about a destruction ascended joining the academy. Once I make this report, the shadows might snoop around.”

“Shadows?” asked Seth as he turned around, feigning a confused expression.

“Just be careful.” Said Iris, waving him to leave.

Seth walked out and chuckled to himself.
