That day they avoided all the patrols, but on the morning of the next day, the same situation repeated itself.

<200 men patrol up ahead…>

Seth chuckled and passed the reins to his horse to Sal before rushing ahead again. He hoped these two hundred wouldn’t make it as boring as yesterday.

<Host could try fighting without the use of destruction or space energy. Using time in combat will increase host’s proficiency with it as well as give the opponents some hope. >

Finding the idea not that bad, Seth created a long spear and charged at the enemy without teleporting in their middle like the last time.

The patrol got on guard as soon as Seth walked towards them and one of them yelled: “Identify yourself.”

“The one who freed the Valdez family. Come at me.” Yelled Seth back before jumping off the ground and thrusting his spear towards the closest enemy. It was a fully armored soldier riding on top of an armored horse.

The soldier seemed undaunted as he raised his shield to block. Seth’s spear hit the shield, but he severely underestimated Seth’s strength and got pushed off the horse. After falling on his back, he wanted to get up and fight back, but before he could even move, Seth threw his spear right through his throat.

“Charge!!!” A loud order came from the leader of the patrol and all the soldiers charged at him in orderly formation.

Seth felt his heart beating in excitement as he rushed toward the wave of enemies as well.

Seeing five spears, all heading towards his body from the knights in front, Seth released his time energy to slow down their movement before moving his spear in a horizontal arc and cutting the neck of all their horses.

As the horses fell to the ground, Seth ignored the blood jetting towards him from all around and quickly took care of the fallen knights.

‘It seems I’m still quite good with a spear. Haven’t fought with one in such a long time.’, thought Seth as he looked at the perfect cuts on the knights’ throats. He didn’t have time to admire his work as a fresh wave of enemies was soon upon him.

Soon the fight turned into a complete brawl, with the soldiers forming a perimeter around him and all attacking at once. Seth used the length of his spear and his time energy to take control of the fight.

At the start, nothing seemed to be wrong, but after losing a quarter of his soldiers, the leader started noticing how some of his troops would freeze or slow down from time to time.

Knowing they had no way to win if it kept going on like that, he opened his mouth to give the retreat order, only for his eyes to open wide as blood started flowing out of his mouth and he fell off his horse.

Everyone was charging toward Seth and no one noticed his death or the heart that appeared next to his body on the ground.

With Seth’s killing efficiency, the fight reached the end ten minutes later, when only around fifty troops were left from the enemy patrol.

Once they noticed their predicament and started to retreat, Seth sent a wave of destruction energy in a circle around him, killing them all on the spot.

Licking the blood from his lips, Seth looked no different from a demon as he grinned and muttered: “This is a lot better.”

When he turned around, he noticed the Valdez family at the edge of the battlefield, staring at him. Seeing their frozen faces and shaking hands, he knew he might have gotten too far while lost in the pleasure of fighting.

Covering his body in a surge of destruction, he quickly teleported a new set of clothes from his storage space before appearing on the horse next to Sal.

“Sorry about the gory display. It’s been a while since I had the chance to fight to my heart’s content. Let’s go.”, said Seth before ignoring their stunned looks and charging forward again.

The men quickly broke out of their stupor, having fought on the battlefield before, but the women still had an expression of fear as they followed Seth.

Remembering the pleasure of combat, Seth ignored the path set up by the system and headed straight forward. He was initially apprehensive of causing a blood bath because he didn’t want the Wrath Kingdom to accuse Oath of sending a high shell ascended, but now his thoughts changed.

‘As long as I don’t leave behind any evidence, they should have no proof of it.’

Over the first week, Seth killed thousands of enemy soldiers, all small patrols on the way, but after one week, word spread that he was an ascended and the king actually ordered a brigade of over 5000 soldiers to separate from the border and block his path. He knew that even a third shell ascended would have trouble dealing with 5000 soldiers.

Seth, on the contrary, got even more excited. He knew that against 5000 soldiers, he could truly go all out. Getting close to Sal, Seth said: “The king pulled a small brigade of 5000 to block our path.”

Sal’s expression turned hopeless until he heard Seth’s next words: “I’m going ahead to deal with them. You follow the same direction we’ve been going at your own pace.”

Sal almost fell off the horse as he asked: “My lord. You can’t hope to fight 5000 soldiers on your own.”

“Haha, don’t worry. I’ll be fine. Leave the horse be. No point in dragging it after us any longer.” Said Seth before teleporting forward. He used all his space energy on blinking before running forward as he recharged his spent energy.

He traveled continuously for three days until he reached a large open field. The field was riddled with soldiers as far as his eyes could see. There were knights, infantry, and even archers in the back.

Hearing the enemy battle horn, Seth covered his body in destruction energy and rushed towards the sea of soldiers.

‘Monitor the battlefield and let me know as soon as anyone plans on retreating. I’m harvesting all these lives today.’ Seth’s eyes flashed dark red as he gave his order and even his sleeping divinity shook briefly.

He ignored the arrows raining down on him and the knight moving toward his back, as his eyes were fixed on the infantry charging at him. The arrows were all destroyed by his energy with ease. It took him ten minutes of running through the arrow rain until he reached the main army.

Creating a large spear made of destruction energy, he cleaved over 20 infantry soldiers at once on the first strike. The enemies moved to surround him and started throwing themselves at him one by one. They knew they were just sacrifices to waste Seth’s energy, but this was their fate in a war against ascended.

Finding the long spear a bit too impersonal, Seth let it dissipate and created two swords before engaging every soldier coming close in a fight. Twenty minutes later, Seth was sitting on a small mountain of corpses and had to blink away because the enemy was having trouble climbing the mountain to their deaths.

One hour passed, then two hours, then three. The entire field was dyed in blood and covered in corpses, but Seth was still fighting with the same vigor he had at the start. His stamina ran dry a lot of times, but he used his lust energy to recover and continue. He also kept alternating between destruction and time while giving the other time to recharge. He even chugged a vial of energy in between.

After six more hours, the enemy soldiers started numbering around 400, and a leader in the distance finally blew the retreat horn.

Seth was so enthralled in the fight that just now noticed the notifications that were popping on his interface.

“Goddammit.” Muttered Seth as he released all the destruction energy in his source, creating a 100 yards radius crater all around his body.

He quickly pulled a sword from his spatial storage and took care of the remaining soldiers, the ones out of the radius of his destruction energy, by blinking towards them and killing them in an old-fashioned way.

Falling on his back on the blood-filled ground, he closed his eyes, took a deep satisfied breath, and fell asleep. His destruction and space sources were empty and even his lust source was not faring much better.

When he woke up, he teleported away from the battlefield, cleaned himself using destruction energy, and looked at his work.

“Caitlin would have probably broken through with all this energy. System, how long until the Valdez family arrives?”

<16 hours>

Seth nodded and started slowly cleaning the battlefield. He knew the Wrath kingdom would seek trouble with the Oath kingdom and accuse them of sending a fourth ascended on the battlefield, but he didn’t really care that much as long as he didn’t leave any proof. The alliance time has already escalated once and there were low chances they could move any faster.

No enemy soldiers arrived in the meantime, and after around 16 hours, the Valdez family did.

Looking at the enormous crater in the center of the field, Sal came to Seth and asked: “Did my lord really take care of the entire 5000 soldiers’ brigade?”

“Indeed. Let’s continue. The border is not far now.”

After Sal nodded absentmindedly, Seth led them as close to the border as he could without getting discovered. They abandoned their horses a long time ago and started using the system to sneak the rest of the way. Once he got in teleportation range, Seth used a portal and everyone got over to the other side of the border.

He could have just walked in, but that would give some evidence to the king of his presence here. Like this, while the king would still suspect it was him who created the trouble, he couldn’t really do anything about it.

Once on the other side, they moved further away on the border before Seth stole some horses and they resumed their journey. Since there were constant skirmishes between the two kingdoms, the roads here always had either merchants delivering supplies or soldiers heading to the war, so not that hard to find seven horses.

They avoided the road and traveled on unbeaten paths while also avoiding any Oath kingdom patrols that would appear. It took two more months of slow traveling until the capital appeared in their sights.

As the group was staying on a small hill overlooking the city, Seth had a frown on his face. He still didn’t know the best way to deal with them for now.

Sal knew what he was worrying about and said: “My lord, we can hide in the forests near the capital. What I would like, if possible, is to see my daughter.”

Seth shook his head, saying: “No need to hide here like wild dogs. I still can’t reveal your presence in the kingdom, but I’ll have you set up at an inn inside the city until I figure out a solution.”

After deciding, Seth took them close to the capital walls before teleporting everyone inside. Covered by cloaks, they made their way through the slums until they reached the Slumbering Grave inn. On the way, he also prepared 1000 gold coins, knowing full well that it will cost a fortune to hide so many citizens of an enemy kingdom.

Once the innkeeper saw Seth appearing with six people covered in cloaks, the smile on his face froze.

“How much to give all of them rooms?”

The innkeeper sighed and asked: “Wrath kingdom again? For this many, 20 gold per night. Non-negotiable.”

Seth nodded and placed the coins on the counter. “Prepare rooms for them. You have 1000 coins here. I’ll also send that girl later to see them. Make sure you lead her to their room.”

The innkeeper took the sacks of gold before leading the Valdez to their rooms.

Having solved this problem, he started making his way back to his house.

“Let’s hope the kingdom won’t get ruined by inflation…”
