Chapter 96: Fountains

Early in the next day’s morning, Seth opened his eyes and sat up with a frown. Three naked women were scattered around the mattress, with dried semen, sweat, and other bodily fluids covering their bodies. Tiana’s body was also covered in rope marks and a few bruises.

A musky smell was also present, making Seth wish he had built a window. Moving forward, he was hesitant to use his destruction source, so he nudged Hollie awake.

Hollie slowly opened her eyes, a frown appearing on her face due to the awful smell and sticky feeling all over her body. Looking up at Seth, she remarked: “I’m disgusting.”

Seth chuckled and said: “I can’t use my destruction source, and we have no water ascended here. Could you clean me up so I can go get Maya?”

Hollie nodded and spread her air energy, spinning it around her and Seth, cleaning both up. “That’s the best I can do.”

Seth nodded and quickly dressed up before teleporting away.

Maya was cultivating peacefully on her bed when she felt Seth appearing. Opening one eye, she looked him up and down and said: “You really need to build a door to the fuckroom.”

“Sorry, my lust source went a little wild, and I forgot to bring you as well.”

“That’s fine.” Replied Maya while closing her eye again, “Did you do it the whole day and night?”

“We slept a bit as well. Could you help us clean up? We have no other water ascended.”

Maya smiled and asked: “What do I get in return? You owe me after leaving me out to cultivate while you had fun with the others.”

Seth sighed and nodded: “Anything you want.”

Maya’s smile grew wide as she stood up and walked up to Seth, kissing his lips briefly. “Deal. Today, you’re all mine.”

Seth nodded again and teleported the two to the fuckroom. Once inside, Maya looked around the room, surprised to see the naked girls and the state of the room.

She then looked at Tiana’s body, who received the brunt of his lust source, and she exclaimed as her source started spinning: “It doesn’t look like just a little wild.”

Seth smiled wryly and watched as a bunch of water emerged from Maya’s body, filling up the whole room before disappearing as suddenly as it appeared. Once it was gone, most traces of last night were already gone.

Henrietta and Tiana also woke up from the sudden shower and looked shyly toward Maya. Maya smirked at their looks and said: “Don’t act all innocent now. Quickly get dressed; I’m taking Seth away.”

After Seth created some casual clothes for everyone, he made a portal, and they all walked out, entering Seth’s room inside the ship’s hull.

Seeing Maya grab onto his arm immediately after getting out of the portal, Seth looked at Tiana and said: “Go and tell Caitlin to heal you up.”

Tiana nodded with a blush as she lowered her head, not allowing the others to see her smile.

Turning towards Maya, Seth asked: “So, back to the fuckroom?” Maya shook her head and said: “No, take us down to the city.”

Seth nodded and said goodbye to the others before teleporting down with Maya. Once on the ground, Maya started dragging him towards the city as she said: “Let’s have a walk.”

As they were walking in silence, Seth wondered what Maya had planned. She started speaking while looking around the broken streets and shabby huts. “This city really is a sad one.”

“It is indeed, but things are already starting to change. So, what do you have planned for today?” said Seth, unable to rein in his curiosity anymore.

“Nothing, really. I just wanted to spend some time with you, walking around like a pair of ordinary lovers. Do you really think we’ll be done in three months? Things are moving quite slow.”

“If nothing unexpected happens, then yes. It’s moving slowly now because we don’t have many hands helping us, and the blood race still hasn’t left. Once more people join the building effort and the underground waters are free from the blood race’s suppression, things would speed up considerably.”

“I hope so.” Muttered Maya, her eyes landing on a group of small skinny kids playing around in the dirt. “It’s quite disheartening seeing the poverty of this place.”

Seth followed her eyes with a nod before teleporting some treats to the middle of the group of kids.

“We’re doing all we can for now. If my creation source was at the fourth or fifth shell, things would be different…”

The two kept walking around, taking a good look at the condition of the blood capital. What surprised Maya was that there were actually a handful of people who bowed toward them with grateful faces, seemingly recognizing Seth as the new king.

After wandering aimlessly for over an hour, chatting about future plans and whatnot, Maya sighed and said: “Let’s go back and spend the rest of the day in bed. I’ve seen enough of our city.”

Seth nodded and teleported them back to Maya’s room, where the two spent the rest of the day cuddling in bed. At night, they cultivated in each other’s arms and only finished in the morning, when their vacation was also officially over.

Seth rounded up the others and opened a portal towards the building area, where there were almost 3000 people already waiting. Maya smiled when she noticed the increased number, and everyone returned to work.

With over 3000 people, the volunteer pressure decreased, but it only increased on Seth, Pearl and Henrietta. The marble supply barely managed to keep up with the working force, and the number of volunteers was sure to only increase.

After a week and a half, their numbers reached a staggering 10 000, making Seth arrange them in shifts since they couldn’t hold on with marble production. He stopped fusing the marble together, focusing entirely on creating more.

As he was using a vial to recover his creation energy after having made a pile of marble, he received a notification from the system.

“Finally.” Muttered Seth while gazing at the 741 houses they had managed to build. It was not much, but it was slowly getting there.

Going to find Hollie, he asked her to propagate his voice to the large group of volunteers as he said: “We’re going to retake a break, but this time it would only be a single day. Everyone should regroup back here the day after tomorrow at first light.”

The food he had brought from the Oath capital was already starting to run dry, so he needed to ensure he secured a decent food supply.

The people were not that exhausted since they started working in shifts, so they didn’t really understand the sudden break. Still, figuring it was just a break for Seth and the others in charge of creating materials, they all started heading toward their homes.

Seth then turned towards Pearl and Henrietta. “How are you two?”

Pearl and Henrietta exchanged a look before nodding simultaneously: “We’ll be fine after a good night’s sleep.”

“That’s perfect. You can take a break now, and I want you to resume right after. I have some things to do, and I’ll probably join you once I’m done.”

Being done with his instructions for Pearl and Henrietta, Seth turned towards Hollie. “By now, the people have already started calming down, so I need you to try and convince the people directly north from the palace to vacate the premises and move to the new homes we’ve built here.”

Hollie raised an eyebrow and asked: “Are you sure you want me to convince them?”

Seth frowned, finding she had a point, before saying: “Take Sal and Julie Oconnor with you. Those two should be able to figure out a way to do it. I need that place emptied in at most two days.”

Hollie still looked doubtful but nevertheless nodded in agreement.

Turning towards Maya, Seth extended a hand and said: “Let’s go. I have some work for you as well.”

Maya raised an eyebrow and took his hand. When her vision recovered from the space jump, she was in a completely dark place, and a strong blood smell assaulted her nose. Tightening her hold on Seth’s hand, she asked: “Where are we?”

Seth filled the room with torches from his storage space, bringing some light to the creepy tunnel. Dark, dried blood covered the walls, and some giant protrusions, like veins, covered the floor.

“We’re in the tunnels where the blood race used to live. Can you feel the water underground?”

Maya looked around in disgust before closing her eyes and spreading her water energy. Ten seconds later, her eyes opened, and she nodded. “There is some sort of lake, deep underground, sealed off by these disgusting things on the floor.”

“Hehe, those are roads. The high-ranked members of the blood race would use them to quickly travel all over the continent.” Replied Seth before adding: “Look for more underground waters. We’ll need to break all the blockages if we want to bring life back to the blood continent.”

Maya nodded, and they spent over ten hours teleporting from place to place. Maya would leave a small amount of her water energy in each of those underground waters, ready to burst through the blockage at any moment.

Once they were done, Seth teleported them both to the top of the palace, overlooking the evening city as he said: “That should be all for now. The network of underground rivers would take care of the rest of the blockages by itself. Do it.”

Maya took a deep break and nodded, closing her eyes. Not even a minute later, the entire city shook gently, Seth able to see hundreds of huts simply toppling over from the minor earthquake.

A bout of panic spread throughout the city, but Seth just smiled and continued watching over the city. “Good work.”

Maya nodded with a smile, feeling the flood flowing wildly under the city, and she asked: “Shouldn’t we let them know? They look quite scared.”

Seth shook his head as she took her hand and said: “No need. Just watch.”

One more minute of constant shaking until, all of a sudden, a geyser broke through the earth, reaching as high as a mile in the air. With the first one, six other geysers appeared, all in different locations across the city.

Everyone was watching the mystical show with excitement, smiles also appearing on Maya and Seth’s faces.

“Direct all the rain to the fields outside the city.” Said Seth and Maya quickly directed the falling water toward Amen’s fields, creating a dome of running water covering the entire city.

Water kept gushing out the entire night, but the geysers grew smaller with time until finally ending up as nothing more than small fountains. Most people were so excited that they stayed awake the entire night to watch the show.

There was a small river just outside the city, but it barely had enough water for the city population to satisfy their thirst. Now with the emergence of the six new fountains, they knew they would at least have enough water to quench their thirst.

In the morning, Seth teleported with Maya to Amen’s fields and saw plenty of rice, potatoes, corn, and even some trees with different fruits hanging from them.

‘System, how many mouths can this field feed?’

Seth nodded and spoke with Amen, explaining what he should do next, before returning to the city.

After returning to work, he announced the people of the new fields that were growing crops just outside the city and split his workforce in half, sending around 6000 people to help Amen.

With the new workforce to collect and plant new crops, and the soil already soaking in water, Amen’s work only started focusing on expanding the fields and increasing the growing speed of the crops.

With the food problem looking like it would be soon fixed, Seth knew he only had to finish the housing project as well as his academy, so he left Pearl and Henrietta to deal with the marble creation for a while and headed to check on the lot that was freed by Hollie.
