Jason was not sure if the Preactors had to finish the same Trials as him, but he assumed that they would pass them much more quickly than him.

That would, at least, make some sense owing to the fact that they had been so confident in their own capabilities.

Nevertheless, Jason was not sure how advantageous it would be if the three Preactors would be faster or slower than him.

As such, he could only continue advancing through the trials.

After Jason passed the first trial, the immediate surroundings around him twisted and he was teleported somewhere else as the familiar robotic voice resounded in his head.

[First trial successfully completed. Required time [36H:42M:04S]! Good achievement.

All beasts inside the dome have been defeated. Excellent achievement.]

[Merit points according to efficiency and speed have been added to merit bank.]

[Second Trial starts. Pass through the Infinite Maze. Allotted time [30 Days]]

When Jason appeared in the area where the second trial was held, he saw nothing but grey stone walls.

Standing in the center of a place with more than ten paths that led to different directions, Jason turned in all of the directions, trying to make sense of what was going on.

'I'm in the middle of a maze? That's great!!' He thought, with a bright smile one his face.

Making use of his Emperor Eyes, Jason was able to see a rough blueprint of the Maze consisting of the stone walls in a radius of more than 50 meters around him.

This was owing to the difference between energy fluctuations released by materials in comparison to the freely moving cultivation energies.

Jason found this to be useful enough, but owing to his Emperor Eyes, he could clearly see all kinds of traps that had been placed inside the Maze.

At the same time, there were beasts roaming in the Maze, increasing the difficulty to venture through it even more.

Nevertheless, Jason was not worried because the beasts' strength didn't seem to be high enough to kill him in the blink of an eye.

As such, he couldn't help but feel his confidence increasing.

'I can definitely be faster than everyone else in this trial!!'

With the advantage he had received, Jason wanted to charge up to Jennifer as quickly as possible.

In his opinion, this would be the best because his gut feeling told him so.

The preactors wrathful hue worried Jason.

And even without their unique hue, their combined strength, and what they had been saying to each other before entering the Inheritance site, was definitely worrisome.

However, at the same time, the fact that the Preactors came from far away, just to retrieve something, spoke volumes about the value of the things they were supposed to take back.

Because of that, Jason believed that Jennifer should definitely try to obtain said item, even if it meant that she would have to fight against the four Preactors!

Unfortunately, without additional help, Jennifer would die in that fight, which was the reason Jason wanted to inform her about everything.

Maybe, she would attempt to assassinate them, and defeat an opponent before they could even react.

In the end, this was just something Jason imagined.

It was unlikely that the Preactors would get assassinated so easily.

They held themselves in high regard as they were considered to be prodigies of their race, which meant that they had some treasures that would protect their lives if their reflexes were too slow.

With that in mind, passing the Inheritance trial as quickly as possible before leaving the Preactors behind would probably be the best.

Unfortunately, Jason felt that this was not as easy as it sounded.

Nevertheless, he could and would try his best as always!

Now that his mind had been set in stone, Jason chose one of the many paths before he began to rush through the vast space that had nothing but walls, traps, and beasts.

At the same time, he marked every path he took, trying to create a rough understanding of the maze in order to leave as quickly as possible.

Once he found a dead-end, Jason would simply leave a different symbol to mark the path at the last intersection.

Simultaneously, he would always take the left path in order to know where he had been and where he had yet to go.

This would make everything much easier, and it should allow him to rush through the Maze without any delay.

In the end, he was even able to find out whether some paths were dead-ends before he even entered them, owing to the Emperor Eyes that were currently utilised with a vast, yet, replenishable amount of mana.

Thus, adding the other factors, Jason was able to advance through the Maze without any delay.

Despite running through it for several days, he didn't feel bored at all.

There were all kinds of things he had to pay attention to and thus he was always alert.

Yet, he could simply bypass all kinds of traps that had been laid out. Because of that, his advancement speed was terrifyingly high.

He felt that the maze was perfectly suitable for him, which meant that he was likely to pass it with lots of time on hand.

Unfortunately, that was not exactly useful because he didn't really need to gain the approval of the inheritance site in order to receive the main reward.

This was simply not needed because he didn't have three cultivation veins to make use of the possible reward, to begin with.

Nevertheless, Jason could also hand over whatever he might be rewarded with to Jennifer, if she required it.

Nonetheless, he had yet to receive anything, and Jason hadn't even completed the maze either.

As such, he should first pass all trials before doing other stupid things.

Unfortunately, it was only ten days after the second trial had started that Jason noticed something odd.

He had already passed by many large intersections with constructions in them.

Within these structures, he found all kinds of things, which Jason simply picked on a whim, not minding what exactly they were.

It didn't look any special, but according to his understanding of Inheritance sites, these may contain clues to help him pass the trials.

Because of that, he studied the things he had picked up from the structures.

There were photographs, books, and all kinds of objects, but nothing seemed to be extremely helpful.

Only the seemingly logical fact that the maze was infinite just as the trial had said.

Initially, Jason had believed that this statement was an exaggeration, but that didn't seem to be the case at all.

Instead, it was probably exactly as the trial said, just that the word 'infinite' was misused.

In the end, there had been all kinds of clues showing him something Jason had to pay attention to.

However, it was only until he figured out that he had misunderstood the entire situation.

There were specific things one couldn't control in the Infinite maze, and one of those was the fact that everything looked the same adding to the confusion.

The only difference was the buildings and structures that had slight dissimilarities making them look almost identical.

And this was exactly what had allowed Jason to realise what had been wrong because he compared the items he had picked up inside all the constructions

"All items are the same... is the maze resetting itself?!"
