Chapter 17: Chapter 15: Deep thoughts

After leaving the house, they started walking towards the alley, where they first had appeared.

While they were walking, they started having a conversation about Hiroki's power and their future.

"Wow, I know that you are a god and all, but I couldn't comprehend what that really meant and what you are really capable of. Seeing that hypnosis-thing just now it really scared me because that was probably just a tiny fraction of your full powers, but yet you could control their will just the way you wanted. Doesn't that mean, that you could like...control everyone’s thoughts... that's really scary...", Yasuo told them his opinion about what happened with their parents back in the house.

Hiroki was deep in his thoughts, after hearing this question, as he tried to find appropriate words to form an understandable and easy answer.

Before answering he took a deep breath.

"Well... you know, I also thought about that topic: When should I use my powers and how far should I go? Is it even morally acceptable?

First of all, I don't really think you can even comprehend to the slightest just how strong my powers are. I mean, I'm literally fricking omnipotent, in each and every aspect. I don’t know if you can understand, but I could theoretically 'delete' the whole milky way with just a single thought... heck I even could destroy the whole universe.

Even time and space are irrelevant to me, you could say I can command them like some underpaid employees."

He stopped right there, waiting for a reaction coming from his friends’ mouths.

They walked a few meters in silence, as they didn't know how to react or what to say. But Eichi suddenly came up with a question because he had realized something that didn't make sense to him after hearing Hiroki's words just now.

"But shouldn't an omnipotent man have like zero flaws...and no offense, but over the last day it didn't seem like you had no flaws, and you were even kinda afraid of your own mother back there too."

Hearing that, Aiko put his fist in front of his mouth and let out an "Oooof", as if his brother had just roasted the hell out of Hiroki.

Not letting his inner rage take control over him, Hiroki responded to that accusation.

"Actually, that's pretty easy to explain. Back then, when I turned into the omnipotent being that I am right now, even if it was just a moment, all my powers were activated, and I felt that everything became irrelevant to me.

I don't really know how to explain it, but just ask yourself this: If you live a life where you already know everything that will happen in the future, would that still be a happy life? I realized that I would never want to live such a live and thus I turned off most of my powers right after receiving them. Because of that it may seem to you that I am not that different from before, when in fact my powers are just on 'stand-by'.

And about the thing with my mother… how dumb can you actually be, I mean, she is my goddam mother… do you expect me to be rude to her and say something like ‘shut up woman’ if she has one of her many rages? That sounds dumb to me."

They understood what he meant, and everything became clearer to them.

Being already in that kind of mood, they decided not to teleport themselves home right away, but instead visit the nearest park and chill there for a bit.

After about 10 minutes they reached the park.  It was just small one, but it looked really impressive. There was a big meadow with some, still relatively small, spruce and birch trees. In the middle of the meadow was a lake.

Two swans swam in the middle of the lake as they playfully rubbed their necks together.

Hiroki and his friends followed the trail that went along the lake and sat down on the nearest bank.

They enjoyed the view for a short while and then Hiroki continued their previous conversation.

Anyways, there you guys will learn the most basic things like the leveling system, monster ranks and you'll receive basic combat training.

Yasuo sighed in relief and made a gesture as if he were to wipe sweat off his forehead.

"Whew, I already thought it would be as stressful as the schools here on earth."

"No, no. Don't worry", answered Hiroki, "and after around half a year or so, if nothing serious were to happen..., we will leave the academy and focus on making you stronger and I'll help you level up. Because our main goal after all is for you guys to heroically defeat the demon lord, just like in the mangas."

Aiko looked at Hiroki. He looked rather disappointed after hearing the last few sentences.

"You know I’m a fan of isekai manga, but that sounds way too troublesome. Can't you just kill that damned demon lord with that magical snapping of yours?"

Hiroki began to smile, ignoring the sarcasm in Aiko's words as he said, 'magical snapping'.

"C'mon... where would be all the fun if I did that?

I swear it's gonna be fun and believe me, you'll regret it if I were to kill that demon lord... I'll say just one thing: she's a succubus."

Aiko and Eichi's heads explosively turned towards Hiroki and fixated his eyes as theirs began to sparkle.

"Errm, I changed my mind. I'll work very very hard!", Aiko said in a serious tone.

"Good to know.", answered Hiroki.

Yasuo on the other hand didn't understand his friends sudden change, as he wasn't that cultured and couldn't understand the greatness of succubi yet.

They continued their conversation, now talking about more casual topics, until the streetlights turned on.

"...Well, I guess that’s it. Let's go, Gaia is probably waiting for us.", said Hiroki as he stood up. It took them around 10 minutes until they arrived at the well-known alley and as Hiroki made his magical snap, the blue light began to surround them yet again. As they were about to vanish, Aiko asked Hiroki in a quiet voice: "Erm Hiroki... I was wondering, if you could maybe...just maybe, make that demon lord fall in love with me...you know...that's also a pretty common isekai plot... only if you want to of course."

Hiroki had to laugh.

"We’ll see, we'll see..."

And like that they vanished into thin air.
