The next morning, they woke up. This time they did not forget to set their alarms the night before. Thus, they woke up in time and were able to enjoy breakfast together. When they were ready, they took off to school. This time though, as there was still plenty of time, they decided to walk to school, instead of using Hiroki’s teleportation magic.

It was Aiko who had suggested it, as he wanted to use the opportunity and train his legs. His friends all agreed with his proposal.

As they were on their way, they strolled through flower fields and a small forest. Hiroki and Gaia were holding hands, as they walked a bit behind the other three guys. It took them around 30 minutes to reach the city, and also the magic academy.

They entered their classroom just in time. The bells started ringing the moment they sat down in their seats.

“Ok… good morning, guys and welcome back.” Said professor Clarus, who had been here already for 10 minutes. He was diligently waiting for the bells to ring and had used that time to go over the material he wanted to present to the class, once again.

“As you know, today we are going to talk about the wonderful system we all possess. Though, later, I’m going to tell you also some imperfections the system has.”

‘Ohh, he’s going to talk about imperfections… I’m curious. Maybe I’ll change it if he makes some valuable points.’ Hiroki thought.

“I’m going to talk about the level system, and the average stats and later we’re also going to test your stats and see which type of combat you are suited for best.

But first, are there some questions?”

A student raised his hand.

“Yes, I wanted to ask, if something would happen, if one of us has very low stats or something like that.” The student spoke in a quiet tone. He was clearly concerned about if his stats were below average and if he thus would get expelled from school.

“The headmaster told me already beforehand, that this question will probably come up, as most of the students in the first year are concerned about that.

Don’t worry. Even if your stats are the worst stats to exist in this world, we as a school will still teach you and help you train, as that is what you are here for. But if you have low stats, it will obviously hinder your leveling.” The professor answered with a bright smile on his face, comforting the student.

Even the other students, that weren’t really concerned about that topic, let out a sigh of relief.

“Now, if there are no more questions, I would like to start todays lesson.”

He pulled down the board and started to write down some numbers.

“As you can see, every stat category is divided into three main cages: normal, above average, and high.

These categories are reflected by the number of stat points, that you have on level one. So I just assume, that you guys still didn’t level up and have a level of one.”

As the teacher explained this important information to his students, Hiroki was lost in thought.

‘Oh shit! In this system doesn’t exist the agility category… but isn’t that category really important? All those video games back on earth had an agility stat too…I think I’ll have to change that and add agility to the stats board.’

Thus, with just a mere thought, Hiroki changed the flow of time and the fundamental system of this planet, adding the agility stat. Now it was as if the agility stat had always been there.

“Now, as every category has three different options (normal, above average, and high), that also determines, which occupations one can have or is suited for.

You may already know this, but there are three main occupations: Mage, Swordmage, and Swordsman. Though there are some rare classes like an assassin, that happen to appear every now and then.

But the basics are:

You are reading story Godly Isekai Life at novel35.com

-A mage has: High mp, low strength, average hp, and low agility.

-A swordmage has: Average mp, average strength, average hp, and average agility.

-A swordsman has: Low mp, high strength, high hp, and average agility.

As you can see, the swordmage is the hardest class to obtain, as all of your stats have to be average or above.” As he said that, he was writing on the board how the categories of stats are distributed.

Mp: normal (0-40), above average (40-100), high (100-150)

Hp: normal (1-20), above average (20-50), high (50-80)

Strength: normal (20-40), above average (40-80), high (80-120)

Agility; normal (5-10), above average (10-20), high (20-40)

                                                                                                                                                            」

“This overview helps you understand the three categories.

So, when you level up to level two, there you will receive a notification, saying that you may choose your class. And as I have just shown you, you should choose the class that fits you the best. Which means, the class that matches your stats the most.” After that he stopped for a brief moment, looking into the crowd that was intensely listening to him.

“Any questions for now?”

Nobody said a word, they were eagerly waiting for the professor to continue his lesson.

“Now, what happens if you level up? Well, then you get extra points, just as I’ve said. These points also depend on whether your stats are normal, above average or high. If your stats are normal, you get 3 points per level, if they are above average you get 5, and if they are high you get 8 points. That’s it basically.”

“Isn’t that unfair?” Ask a student.

“Good that you made that question. That was the topic I also wanted to talk about. AS you can see this system is rather unfair…”

The professor went on to explain to the students why he thinks that the system is unfair. This system only cares about talent. If one has no talent, which means he has only normal/above average stats, that would mean, that he is bound to lose against others that have talent. And that’s even if he is putting in 5 times the effort.

As Hiroki heard that, he deeply thought about it. He agreed that the system was kind of unfair, but that’s just how it is. Not everything can be fair.

‘Just like a famous poet on earth once said: ring, ring, what a sad thing. Better be aware, cuz life’s not fair.’
