Chapter 37: Chapter 35: Preparations

The caravan comes to a stop. The commander of the guards, knocked on the carriage’s door, in which Hiroki, his friends, and professor Pertina were talking. Upon hearing the knocks, they stopped their conversation and Pertina said: “Welp, seems like we need to stop here.”

She opened the door and a middle-aged man peeked inside. His face looked manly, exposing his cheekbones. His light brown hair already started to become grey on his hairline. He also had a big scar that went all around his face, showing that he had once fought in a deadly battle.

As soon as he spotted professor Pertina, he asked her to come with him.

Pertina followed him and soon, all the students were able to hear her voice from outside.

“Dear students, we have now reached our destination. Please exit the carriages and gather.” She screamed.

Upon hearing that, all the students quickly left their carriages and searched for the professor. As they found her, they rushed over and waited for the rest. As soon as everybody was all were assembled, professor Pertina started speaking again.

“Now we have reached our destination. Right now we are currently in Kastell, a small village in the Tirl kingdom. Some of you may already know this, but this village is probably the most popular place in the whole kingdom. It is the wellness and vacation center for each and everybody. Even kings and queens sometimes come here and spend their vacation in this village.

But right now, we are off-season, so there are not so many tourists, lucky for you. I especially asked the headmaster, and he allowed us to use the last day of this trip as a wellness day, on which you can explore Kastell and all the different things it has to offer, or you can just relax in one of the many wellness hotels.” She proudly told them.

After hearing that, all the students cheered, they were happy to hear that they didn’t only have to train and kill monsters, but could also use this trip to calm down.

As soon as the crowd calmed down, professor Pertina told them to get their luggage and then follow her. The students did as they were told and soon, they arrived together with professor Pertina in front of a big three-story building.

This building was specially constructed by the academy. It is something like the academy’s own camp, where all their students could stay at. They entered and professor Pertina quickly told them the most important information.

This building is divided into three floors. On the ground floor, there is a restaurant, where all the students could eat for free. On the first and second floors are the rooms for the students. Though they are divided into boys and girls, the first floor is only female and the second only male.

Hiroki looked over to his wife Gaia. She was clearly displeased, by how things were done here. She noticed his gaze and symbolized him coming closer. Thus, Hiroki leaned his head closer toward Gaia and she started whispering into his ear.

“Don’t worry, we’ll find another place for our nightly activities.” She told him, as she blushed.

‘Damn, having such a lustful wife sure is exciting. I wonder what she comes up with.’ Hiroki thought with a bright smile on his face. It was a blessing indeed, though sometimes it felt more like a course.

Soon after, the boys and girls got separated and each of them went into their room. Each room had space for about three persons.

And as Yasuo obviously was with his gang, Hiroki, Aiko, and Eichi moved together into a room. The room was rather normal. There were three beds, some decorations, and a normal bath. Just your average hotel room. They unpacked their things and then, around 20 minutes later, a bell rang.

That was the bell, that reminded them to go and eat dinner.

Thus, together they went downstairs and sat down in the restaurant. There they ate. It was pretty good food. Then professor Pertina stood up from her seat and told them all.

“Ok, I see that most of you are finished now. Please go back to your rooms and put on the equipment that the school gave you. I want to see everybody back here at the latest in 20 minutes.”

Professor Pertina especially looked at Hiroki and his group, while talking, as to remind them to not come late again this time.

Because Hiroki and his friends already had finished, they immediately went into their room. There they put on the equipment.

The school gave them each some leather clothes for protection and a sword. The quality of the sword wasn’t pretty good, but it wasn’t bad either. It was a normal beginner sword.

Though Eichi had some difficulties, putting on the clothes, soon they were ready and went downstairs.

This time they were the first to arrive and professor Pertina seemed to be surprised.

“Wow, you have really put your back into it this time. I’m proud of you.” She spoke.

They had to wait for several minutes for someone else to arrive. The next one that came down the stairs was Abel. While waiting for the rest, he got into a conversation with Hiroki.

Soon all the other students arrived and together with professor Pertina they left the camp.

They began walking toward the dungeons of the academy. These were located a little bit outside of the village, thus they had to walk for around 30 minutes.

Soon after leaving the village, they entered a deep forest. This forest was known as Kofel, a forest that is home to many ruins of forgotten civilizations. They even walked by some of these ruins, which looked just like ruins of medieval castles.

After some point, they reached a large and bright forest clearing.

Professor Pertina told them, that this clearing had the nickname “Bowling lane”, a rather strange nickname.

Out of curiosity, Aiko asked Hiroki why it was called that. Hiroki told him, that some villagers reported, that at night they could hear a strange noise coming from this clearing. Noises that resembled bowling balls hitting the pins. But in fact, those noises were just coming from the dungeons.

They walked further into the clearing and soon came to a cordoned-off area. With a key, Professor Pertina opened the iron gate and let the students go inside. Behind this door was a small area. On the ground were entrances to three dungeons.

“Now, you can split up and then, please enter the dungeon!”
