Chapter 9: Chapter 7: The hero’s return

After the king finished his speech, everybody was silent. Most of the people couldn't believe that what he said was true. The room was silent.

Suddenly there was a single snap. It was Hiroki who made the snap and together with it, all the summoned people, except for Hiroki's friends, vanished and got sent back to earth.

The king was very irritated, but the moment he saw Hiroki he fell on his knees.

"I can't believe it, our great hero returned! We praise you our almighty hero!"

Even the queen seemed very happy about his return.

"Oh my, it is good to have you back Hiroki."

At first glance, this reunion looked rather normal, but Hiroki knew that, especially the king is very emotional so it's rather likely that he would tell the whole world about Hiroki's return… Which Hiroki needed to prevent.

"Well, it's nice to be back and all, but I must tell you one thing. My return will stay a secret, ok? I don't want all the trouble around me. And first of all, since I am now here in this world with my friends, I want to live a normal and quiet life together with them."

Though the king looked a bit sad, he promised not to let others know that Hiroki is back. Glad about that outcome, Hiroki began introducing his friends to the king and his family.

"Well, since everything has now been clarified, I'll introduce you to my friends: The first one on the left is Aiko, then comes his brother Eichi and that blonde guy is Yasuo."

"We greet the friends of the mighty hero", the king and queen said, while lowering their heads.

The words "almighty hero" annoyed Hiroki, because, well, first of all, he didn't think that he is worth being called a hero, because defeating the old demon king was an easy task for him and thus not worthy being called a hero's task and second, he didn't like formalities.

"Could you please stop with these stupid formalities, I am Hiroki and not mister almighty hero, okay? I told you that many times.", Hiroki said angrily.

He turned to his friends and introduced the royal family.

"Those two people on the thrones are king Wicus and his wife, queen Aurelia. Next to them is their first daughter, also known as first princess Livia. Next to her is, I don't know, maybe her husband or whatever… well, a noble guy whose name I forgot. And that girl who's clinging to me right now is their second daughter Aelia."

Livia's husband glared at Hiroki for his disrespectful introduction, but he didn't release his anger.

His friends didn't really make some sort of reaction after Hiroki's introduction and because of that he whispered to them: "Oi guys, this is probably the best moment for these formalities where you kneel down and say something like: We greet the king and the queen or something like that."

Embarrassed, the guys quickly did as said and greeted the royal family. And then the attention turned to the king.

"Well Hiroki and his friends, now that all the formalities are over, what should we do now? Since Hiroki wants to support you and your growth, I would suppose to call the goddess and let her bestow a blessing upon you."

While saying this, the king peeped at Hiroki with a bright grin on his face. To his surprise, he didn't see a happy and thankful face, but instead he saw a rather frightened face.

He could not understand this reaction.

"You guys can do that, but without me, bring in Callidus and let him call her, I go hide myself!", said Hiroki in a rush, before going into hiding.

The king did not think much about it, since he just assumed that it was some kind of play and so he calls for Callidus. Half a minute later, Callidus entered the throne room and briefly greeted his majesty and the queen.

"Your majesty, it's an honor to be called here. What are your orders?"

"Callidus, I have called you here today for a very important matter. You may already know it, but Hiroki and his friends got summoned to our world. Now I need to ask you for a favor. Could you please summon the mother goddess and ask her to bless Hiroki's friends?"

Callidus didn't ask any questions as to why Hiroki couldn't do it himself and just answered: "Of course, my king!"

He started chanting.

"My goddess, hear the wishes of these helpless people! Highest goddess and mother of all life, may you bless our souls with your presence and answer our calls!!"

A bright light illuminated in the middle of the room and a contour of a woman appeared.

"What is it Callidus? I'm not in the mood for some small talk.", said an annoyed-sounding voice coming from the shadow.

"Miss, could you please come here? It is very important, and I think that you will be very surprised if you see it."

"Urgh, well whatever…", said the woman.
