Despite not knowing what exactly it could do, Jason knew that he was not ready to possess a halo yet.
As such, he grasped it tightly before shattering it to pieces, while feeling the warmth of another person whose embrace reassured him that everything was fine.
He wanted to know what was going on, but after he shattered the halo, the purest energy was released.
Jason had to absorb it before it would dissipate.
This took quite a while in which Jason also continued to strengthen his entire body.
Afterward, he adjusted himself to his seemingly new physique that was now more refined and better equipped to fight than it had been before.
The strength that coursed through his entire being had received a vast increment, and if Jason had to provide a rough estimate of his current strength, it would be on par with a being that had solidified a total of five prismarine crystals.
And, this would be after excluding the soul world's amplification, or other unique characteristics.
Due to this, Jason was satisfied with the result of having released more than two dozen seals, even if his body was still aching.
However, just at that moment, Jason felt a sudden weakness spread through his entire body as he became more exhausted.
His entire head felt like a mashed pulp, and he knew that he would fall to the ground, or possibly even collapse.
Fortunately, none of the above happened, and Jason only felt that the warmth around him increased, giving him the necessary strength to open his eyes.
What he saw astonished him greatly, and a faint rosy color crept up his cheeks.
"Jen? What are you doing?" He suddenly exclaimed, causing Jennifer, who had hugged him while releasing her three cultivation energies, to retreat at a rapid pace. His question alarmed her and she stuttered while trying to answer him but it sounded like a mix of incomprehensible words.
"I..j-just wanted to..to help!! You seemed to be in pain...a-and my mother always s-said that hugging someone while releasing the three cultivation energies in a gentle manner will have soothing and minor healing properties!"
While saying this, she saw him slump to the ground as Jason's legs were unable to hold his weight and buckled in.
Thus, Jason looked at Jennifer while lying on the ground, with his tired, golden-silverish eyes.
They had returned to their usual color, just like everything else, and it was just the Stigma and Celestia aura that were stronger than before, owing to the unsealed bloodline.
Jason could also tell that his soul world had enlarged but that was not something he could be bothered about.
His cheeks were burning, and he couldn't help but shake his head while trying to make sense of what had happened. He continued to stare at Jennifer, who seemed to be extremely embarrassed about the situation.
However, that didn't really make him feel any better.
'Am I really a loser? Can't I get hugged by someone without feeling embarrassed?!'
Jason felt that he was being ridiculous, but at the same time, it was Jennifer they were talking about.
As such, he sighed deeply before trying to focus on the more important things.
Unfortunately, this was easier said than done, and Jason had momentarily forgotten about their entire situation, the fact that they were inside an Inheritance trial, where the pressure around him increased consistently, let alone know where exactly they were.
'Just what is this weird feeling?' He wondered as he touched the left side of his chest, where his heart was palpitating wildly, thinking that it was different from how he had admired Malia
A moment later, he recalled that Jennifer had said something about her mother, but from the looks on her face, it wasn't hard for him to know that it was a slip of the tongue and she hadn't meant to say it out loud.
Even now, she was flustered about her behavior because it was different from how she acted under normal circumstances.
As such, she was blabbering things that Jason could neither make head nor tail of.
However, somehow, he felt like smiling as he continued to see Jennifer acting girly, instead of her usual seriousness.
It was a sight he would remember for a long time, and unknowingly a word slipped off his tongue.
"Cute.."
Jennifer heard this, but before she could even react, her expression stiffened, while the same occurred to Jason as the robotic voice resounded in their heads.
[Unique situation detected and evaluated. The fourth Trial will be canceled, and each participant will automatically be awarded with the highest score!]
[Fifth Trial will be initiated, Honesty! Stay honest to yourself!]
This was confusing, but instead of complaining, Jason was just relieved that he didn't have to continue enduring the pressure of the three merged cultivation energies.
It would have torn him apart, and, in the end, thrown him outside the Inheritance site in the next few days.
At that time, the Preactors would have still been inside the temple, awaiting them, filled with wrath and the desire to kill both him and Jennifer.
As such, passing the fourth trial was a fortunate event, causing Jason to smile as he was teleported away.
The last thing he could see was Jennifer's expression that had turned serious once again.
There was no sight of the flustered girl he had seen only a moment before.
However, that was exactly what made Jason believe that Jennifer was both a young girl at heart and a powerful warrior.
Now that the fourth trial was completed, they were seperated once again.
Jason was not sure if the four Preactors had been able to travel through the trials because they had entered the portal together, or if there was a different reason, like an specific item their race had created to overwhelm the Inheritance site of the traitor.
In the end, this was not exactly important, to begin with.
Yet, what Jason found important was that he and Jennifer should be able to leave together because it could become dangerous for either of them.
Not being able to break any more seals without seriously damaging his body, left Jason with too little strength to kill the Preactors.
He might have annexed the remaining chaos attribute, but it was not enough to knock out the four of them.
As such, he had to rely on Jennifer, even if he didn't like that.
It was annoying, but even Jennifer required his help to defeat the fourth Preactors, and even then it was unlikely for them to survive.
Thus, they had yet to find a different way to leave the Inheritance trials once everything was completed.
However, for now, the fifth, but also last trial was the first thing Jason and Jennifer had to complete.
Five trials were not considered a lot, and Jason felt that it didn't even take long to complete everything.
Yet, at the same time, the dangers had been extremely high, while the requirement to even enter the trial was not easy to meet either.
With that in mind, Jason was eager to figure out what exactly the honesty, the fifth trial required was!
