“Your son is clearly about to go to primary school.”

Everyone at the table froze in unison. Lu Ying’s chopsticks fell straight to the floor as he looked dumbfounded.

“What do you mean?” Mrs. Qin got up abruptly.

Qin Zhuopu felt no fluctuations in his heart and even wanted to laugh a little. He had brought so many bodyguards here because he thought he would have to teach the fraudster a lesson, but when he saw that Lu Ying was Dr. Hu’s friend, he dismissed the idea of violence.

Dr. Hu sneered and pointed at Lu Ying, “Isn’t Lu Ying’s little brat your son?”

Qin Zhuopu’s expression changed slightly, and the corners of his mouth couldn’t help but curl up when he glanced at the emotional Lu Ying. At last, Dr. Hu had said something human.

Lu Ying sat in his chair in a daze, as if losing his soul, not daring to look up at anyone. He was so angry inside that he wanted to grab Dr. Hu by the collar and scold him. Dr. Hu was so hateful, telling everyone about Zaizai’s origin without any warning! He was not ready for it! Even if he was going to tell, he would have to tell Qin Zhuopu himself. And he had to talk to Zaizai first, so that Zaizai would willingly accept the existence of another father! Besides, he also had a selfish desire to have Mrs. Qin apologise for what happened back then!

“Doctor Hu, you…” Lu Ying was shivering with anger.

Dr. Hu shrugged indifferently: “Anyway, you will never forget your old lover, so why bother? Go back to your luxurious house, eat, drink and sleep until you wake up naturally every day. It’s best not to come back to Qixia Town in the future.”

“Old fox, shut up!” Ji Xiaofeng slapped Dr. Hu’s mouth. Dr. Hu jumped up and grabbed Ji Xiaofeng: “Rebellious!” With a roar, he clutched Ji Xiaofeng’s ears and twisted them. Ji Xiaofeng yelled, caught Dr. Hu’s arm and twisted it, then stretched out his long leg and kicked at Dr. Hu’s crotch. Dr. Hu dodged nimbly, grabbed Ji Xiaofeng’s neck and dragged him to the back of the house. The two of them fought fiercely on the way, accompanied by the pitiful sounds of shattering furniture.

Qin Zhuopu: “……” Are these two really a couple?

Elder Xu chuckled: “Don’t worry, Xiao Ji is feisty by nature, and Dr. Hu is playing along with him.”

Qin Zhuopu: “……” What an insight.

Lu Ying was not surprised to see this picture and actually had no inclination of thinking about anything else but Dr. Hu’s thunderous words. His heart pounded and his palms sweated, and he was unable to calm down for a long time. His biggest secret was exposed in this way… strange, why didn’t Qin Zhuopu say anything, as if he was not curious at all?

Finally unable to resist, Lu Ying looked at Qin Zhuopu, wide-eyed.

Qin Zhuopu met his stare and smiled slightly.

“……” It was still strange. Lu Ying was confused.

Moving her chair away, Mrs. Qin left her seat grimly, picked up her bag and glanced at her son, “Are you leaving?”

Qin Zhuopu shook his head, “Mom, you go back by yourself first.” He was going to go with Lu Ying to pick up the child today and try to get the child to call him ’Dad’ as soon as possible.

Mrs. Qin took a deep breath and stopped after two quick steps. She suddenly turned, and the bag in her hand slammed straight into Qin Zhuopu who was smiling at Lu Ying!

Although the bag was small, it was hard enough.

Like a brick, it flew mercilessly towards Qin Zhuopu. Qin Zhuopu was unsuspecting and had no time to react. Lu Ying’s face changed. He grabbed the bag a moment before it hit Qin Zhuopu and threw it back at Mrs. Qin reflexively. It didn’t hit anyone but only fell to Mrs. Qin’s feet.

“Why are you hitting people?” Lu Ying was furious. She even wanted to hit her own son, did she really think his son would not be hurt? Is Mrs. Qin crazy?

Mrs. Qin seemed to have been bitten by a poisonous snake. She couldn’t hold her posture of a noble lady anymore. She pointed her finger at Lu Ying’s nose and yelled, “Lu Ying, you are so impressive! Calling you a vixen is an insult to vixens! To make Zhuopu acknowledge your son is a fool’s dream! Your scoundrel friends are so bold, trying to fool me when they see my weakness. I may be old, but I’m not stupid! Your son will always be your son, don’t even think about having anything to do with the Qin family!”

Looking at the hysterical Mrs. Qin, Lu Ying was dumbfounded. He understood every word she said, but together they were incomprehensible. Mrs. Qin scolded him as a vixen… he could not be angry. He was caught off guard when faced with Dr. Hu’s abrupt revelation, and his mind was preoccupied with how to explain the existence of Zaizai to the Qin family as well as to confess his special physique. Panicked as he was, he also felt a sense of relief that this day had finally come. Besides, after all these years down the mountain, it was difficult for him to avoid mundane things. He was not immune to the fact that the Qin family was financially well off and that Zaizai could experience a better future and be cared for by more family members.

Had he known about Zaizai in the first place, he would never have left rashly. He believed that even if Mrs. Qin did not like him, she would have liked the child. After all, Mrs. Qin was very kind-hearted, doing charity work all year round and sponsoring many, many poor children. Then with her own grandson, it didn’t make sense that she would hate the child just because she hated the adult.

Wrong. Mrs. Qin really hated him to the extreme.

“Lu Ying’s son is my son.” Qin Zhuopu interrupted Mrs. Qin. “The person who wants to be with Lu Ying is me, not you. I will treat this child as my own. Mom, he doesn’t need to be surnamed Qin and it doesn’t matter if you don’t accept him. He can just acknowledge me, he doesn’t need to acknowledge you as his grandmother.” Qin Zhuopu made light of the situation, bent down to pick up his mother’s bag and patted it, handing it over, “Once when I was a child, I disobeyed and pissed off my father. He took a coat hanger and tried to beat me. You said that you’d divorce him if he dared to hit the child.”

“You…” How could she even remember that? Mrs. Qin was in a daze.

Qin Zhuopu laughed softly, “Are you trying to smash my head in today? You do so many good deeds, how come you can’t tolerate the child I like?” The small bag, you would only know how heavy it was when you held it. If Lu Ying hadn’t stopped it, there probably would have been blood.

“The person who should see the doctor is you.” Qin Zhuopu seriously decided that he would send his mother to the capital later so that his grandmother could properly educate her, and in the meantime, have a Chinese medicine doctor nurse his mother’s body.

Mrs. Qin sobbed as she clutched her chest, “You’re trying to piss me off! Are you a fool? As soon as he left you, he went back to the mountains to find a woman and had a son. Now he’s living in poverty and you want to stick to him as soon as you show up! What do you see in such a man? What is it about him that makes him so worthy of you and your willingness to become a father? What is more shameless than to find friends to fool me? I’m crazy about a grandchild, yes. If I was willing to adopt, there would be more grandchildren than stars. But I’m telling you, I don’t want to!”

“No, I don’t want to.” Lu Ying finally answered.

Compared to the excited Mrs. Qin, he was now very calm. So, this was the beautiful thing that he had been dreaming about for many years. He finally waited until the day he faced it, but not only was it far from the fantasy, even his face was black. No wonder others blamed him for being naive; he shouldn’t have been… coveting beauty.

Qin Zhuopu’s face was cold.

Mrs. Qin picked up her bag, took a deep breath, and finally sneered at Lu Ying: “No matter how stupid and infatuated my son is, I won’t let you into the Qin family, let alone your son. Your scoundrel friends are so bold. If you have the ability, turn into a woman and give birth to Zhuopu’s child! As long as you dare to give birth to it, I dare to promise that my personal assets that are no less than my son’s will all be given to you! Just in case you can’t afford bringing it up.”

“Crap! Lu Ying, quickly thank the lady for her kindness! It’s at least tens of billions! You’re going to be rich, little brother!” Ji Xiaofeng, who had jumped out of nowhere at some point, applauded, “When you’re rich, don’t forget us, ah, little piggy Lu!” The look in Mrs. Qin’s eyes was devoid of laughter.

Lu Ying was simply exasperated, glaring at Ji Xiaofeng with bulging eyes and softly muttering: “What’s the big deal, isn’t it just selling sanitary napkins? Where can so much money come from, it’s just bragging…”

“Pfft, hahaha…” Ji Xiaofeng, who had heard that, leaned back and laughed.

Dr. Hu smiled and smoked, standing with his arms crossed, mockingly looking at Mrs. Qin who had lost her composure. The only problem was that such a handsome man now has blood marks all over his neck, as if he had been scratched by some sharp claws.

“This is ridiculous.” Seeing Ji Xiaofeng, this little punk, and Dr. Hu, Mrs. Qin was enraged. She had seen how sharp-tongued Ji Xiaofeng could be before, and compared to Lu Ying, who was very afraid of her, Ji Xiaofeng had angered her so many times that she wanted to hit him. Sure enough, they were not good people.

Elder Xu looked at the expressionless Lu Ying with pity, shaking his head and sighing. Mrs. Qin went around begging for a son and then missed out so much when she did get one. What an injustice. Sooner or later there would be a day to cry.

He watched Brother Xiao Lu grow up, the softest tempered of all the children, happy all day when he had enough to eat and drink. Everyone loved him and liked to tease him. As a boy, he might not be as fierce as Brother Ji, but it didn’t mean he had no temper.

“My son’s surname will always be Lu. He has nothing to do with you.”

“Lu Ying!” Qin Zhuopu approached.

Lu Ying stopped paying attention to people and went out to get on the electric moped to leave. Ji Xiaofeng huffed and walked past Mrs. Qin, grabbed the front of the moped and asked, “Why are you leaving like this? What about the medicine?”

“I’ll take Zaizai with me next time. I’m going to be late for work now.”

“Tsk, what are you afraid of, it’s not like Brother Yang will say anything. He likes you the most.”

“All the more reason for me to avoid being lazy then. Bye.” Starting the moped, Lu Ying took off.

“Bye.”

Qin Zhuopu walked out, called his assistant and then turned his head to look at his angry mother, saying in a low voice, “Mom, are you happy to have turned into the kind of old woman you hate the most?”

Mrs. Qin’s pupils shrank.

Qin Zhuopu walked out of Qiushan Street without looking back.

“Follow him, and be careful not to knock him.”

“Yes.” The driver drove carefully.

On the road, a black car drove slowly, and not far ahead of it on the right there was an electric moped running. It was old and dusty and looked particularly shabby. The rider on the seat was dressed in black working uniform made of a good quality fabric and well-cut, tailored to make him look like a slender tree. Qin Zhuopu wanted to grab him around the waist and take him into his arms, to rub his dark hair and listen to his happy laughter.

All the way to the destination, the moped rider never looked back.
