The first thing Long Sijue did after he woke up was to look for Su Qianxun. He did not even spare Lan Qingcheng, who was sitting by the hospital bed, a glance. His gaze fell upon Su Qianxun, who was sitting not far away from her.
He finally felt at ease when he saw that she was alive and well. But when he realized that one of her cheeks was swollen, he furrowed his eyebrows…
“Jue, you’re finally awake. You gave me such a scare that I almost died. Sob, sob. Please don’t scare me like this again,” Lan Qingcheng said and threw herself onto Long Sijue.
Su Qianxun got up almost immediately. She wanted to drag this woman away from Long Sijue!
“You’re hurting me!” Long Sijue said as he stared expressionlessly at her.
Lan Qingcheng immediately got up and awkwardly wiped the tears off her cheeks. “I’m sorry, I didn’t do it intentionally. I got too excited when I saw that you’re alright.”
“Tang Zui, get her wounds treated,” Long Sijue ordered.
Only then did Tang Zui realize that all of them had neglected the fact that Su Qianxun’s cheek was swollen because they were too worried about Long Sijue. Her foot was probably injured too after Xiao Mingyan, that old witch, ran her wheelchair over it.
“I’m alright. How do you feel? Do you want to drink some water?”
Su Qianxun was looking anxiously at him. She really wanted to walk over to hug him and feel his body temperature, but she could not do so as Lan Qingcheng was around.
“You’re alright? The filming for the advertisement is still ongoing. Don’t you want to continue filming? You’ll have to go and refilm some of the scenes tomorrow. Are you sure you want to appear on camera like this!?” Long Sijue sounded a little stern.
Su Qianxun immediately bit her lower lip and looked at him with a sullen expression. Long Sijue continued being harsh and asked, “You’ve worked hard to film this advertisement for such a long time. Do you want all your work to be in vain because of such a small matter!?”

When Tang Zui heard this, he immediately walked over and dragged Su Qianxun out of the ward. “Come with me to get your wounds treated first… Jue will still be here when you’re back. He won’t disappear. Stop acting like he’ll disappear the moment you leave the ward.”
Even though Su Qianxun was reluctant to leave, Tang Zui insisted on dragging her out of the ward and getting the wounds on her face treated.
Long Sijue stared after the young woman as she left the ward. Only after she disappeared from his sight did he spare Lan Qingcheng, who was sitting beside him, a glance. She was still looking at him with a worried expression, and her gaze was so sincere that she did not seem pretentious at all. “Jue…”
“Since Lan Yingying is your cousin, shouldn’t the Lan family give me an explanation about what had happened?” Long Sijue inquired as he stared expressionlessly at her.
“Haih… Both my family and I never expected that Lan Yingying would do something like this… She was really acting too rashly… I apologize to you on behalf of my family members,” Lan Qingcheng said as she looked at him with an extremely earnest expression.
Long Sijue sneered internally. This woman was an extremely good actress indeed. “You and I both know what the truth really is! Mancheng, see her out!”
Si Mancheng immediately walked over and said, “Miss Lan, please take your leave!”
“Jue, you’re injured right now. Why don’t you let me stay here to keep you company? I wouldn’t feel at ease if I were to leave now.”
Why would Lan Qingcheng leave? She was not worried about the fact that Long Sijue knew the truth. He was only marrying her because it would benefit his family, anyway. All she had to do was to seduce him after they were married.
She refused to believe that men who were not interested in her body existed in the world!
“Miss Lan, if you refuse to leave, I will have no choice but to ask the bodyguards to escort you out. I’m sure that this would be embarrassing for all of us if this were to happen, don’t you think so?” Si Mancheng truly hated this woman to the bone.
Lan Qingcheng’s face turned pale, and she had no choice but to take her leave first no matter how indignant she was. Their wedding would be happening soon, anyway!
She did not mind being put on the backburner for a month or two!
