Chapter 1281: No One Can Get Close to Her, but You
“Ms. Nian, I hope you can go and visit Mr. Jiang,” Uncle Han said. “He’s been in the lab since last night. He didn’t have any breakfast or lunch and said he’d find out what was wrong with the robot.”
Nian Xi furrowed her brows. Why was he so silly? “There’s something wrong with that robot, but he doesn’t need to be so eager to figure it out. Does he just want to clear that woman’s name?”
Uncle Han waved his hands and said, “Ms. Nian, about that: You are over-thinking things. He wants so much to find out the problem with the robot because you were angry yesterday. He doesn’t know how to make you happy, so he wants to figure out the cause and give you an explication. He does feel sorry. You said he was trying to protect Ms. He, but I think you were wrong about that. His world is quite simple, you see. In his world, there are no good or bad people. He doesn’t understand things between boys and girls at all. He likes you, and he doesn’t care if other people like him or not. As you know, he often automatically filters out what other people say to him.”
Nian Xi nodded. Last night, after hearing what Murong Cheng said to her, she calmed down and thought a lot.
Jiang Yuning was like a blank sheet of paper.
“Uncle Han, you’re with him every day. Tell me, does Ms. He like Mr. Jiang?” asked Nian Xi straightforwardly.
Uncle Han smiled and said, “Ms. Nian, I didn’t know that you’re possessive. She’s just a girl Mr. Jiang knows, but you’re jealous already.”
Nian Xi blushed slightly. “I’m not jealous. I’m just trying to… learn more about him.”
Uncle Han thought for a moment, then said, “Ms. Nian, Ms. He isn’t the only female Mr. Jiang knows. He knows all kinds of women. He works with them. Some are much older than he is. The girls his age who can work with him or talk to him about science are mostly geniuses. I think you should trust him. He’s the kind of person who lives in his own world. No one can get close to him, except you.”

Nian Xi felt both sweet and annoyed.
So, if she ever had a rival in love, that girl would be a genius.
She had no chance to outsmart girls like that, so if that day came, she would have to solve the problem with violence.
“Also, Mr. Jiang didn’t quit cookery after giving you that robot chef.” Uncle Han continued, “These days, he spent an hour learning how to cook every day after he came out of the lab. He stayed up until one in the morning. He said that one day, he’d let you know that he’s even better at cookery than the robot.”
Nian Xi was stunned. “Why didn’t he ever tell me about that?”
“He’s never been an expressive person.” Uncle Han lowered his head, glanced at his watch, then gave a sigh and continued with, “It’s three pm already. He hasn’t eaten anything today. I wonder if he’s okay. He’s already skinny.”
On hearing that, Nian Xi felt an ache in her heart. “He has to eat something. Who would cook for me if he starved himself to death? Uncle Han, I’ll leave this place to you. I’m going to see him.”
“Sure, sure.” Uncle Han hurriedly nodded. “Thank you, Ms. Nian. Maybe you can pick up some food for him on your way. Oh, I’ll give you the key. He can’t hear the doorbell when he’s in the lab.”
“I know that.” Nian Xi took the key and left.
On her way, she bought some shrimp porridge, chicken feet, and double skim milk.
Arriving at the apartment, Nian Xi opened the door with the key and went in. She had been in his apartment once.
Once inside, she saw a pair of heels placed neatly by the door.
