Mo Liuxi pulled her over immediately and bit her lip in punishment as he said to her, “Did you think I wouldn’t know that it was because your mom flipped through your diary that she found out about what happened between you and Shi Xiang?”
Melancholy overcame Yan Su at the realization that her mother had revealed everything to Mo Liuxi.
Jealousy began to brew inside the man, and it took Yan Su a long time to finally cajole and pacify him.
In the room next door, Jiang Peiying received a voice report from her son before she went to bed.
This was roughly what the voice report said, “Sister Sangsang: Mo Liuxi’s older sister is a good person, is a very good cook, and has an especially big appetite.
Little Apple: Mo Liuxi’s little nephew is very mischievous and likes to boss others around.
Uncle Nian: Sister Sangsang’s husband is very handsome, but seems a little slow in the head, is especially scared of his wife and likes keeping up appearances, but he has no say in the household. Oh, right, he was the one who told me to address him as Uncle.
Old Uncle Nian: A friendly and easygoing older man, smiles at everyone and probably has even less say in the household than the younger Uncle Nian. I heard that his wife and son don’t really heed his words. Poor thing.
Jiang Peiying was speechless.
It was a pity her son was not a detective.
Judging from the situation, however, there seemed to be a pattern in Mo Liuxi’s family — the men did not have much say. That worked out just fine for her.

The next day, the moment Jiang Peiying stepped out of the door, she saw her daughter limping as she chased after Yan Yan to wipe her face.
“What’s wrong with your legs?” Jiang Peiying asked.
Yan Su’s expression froze for a few seconds before she lowered her head shamefacedly and replied, “They’re aching from dance practice. I’ve recently been learning a new ribbon dance…”
“The ribbon dance is done with the hands. What has it got to do with your legs?” Jiang Peiying was at a loss for words; her daughter could not even come up with a more credible lie. Did her daughter seriously think she was deaf with age, and she could not hear someone sneaking into her room and closing the door the night before?
She had been young once too. She just had never been called out on her antics.
Yan Su was undeniably embarrassed, but she had no choice but to continue in her lie. “The ribbon dance is not what you think it is. It’s pretty complicated, and it requires movement from the whole body. Oh, right! Did Jin contact you in the morning? I’ll get Jiaojiao to pick him up later on…”
“He said that Sangsang is taking him and Little Apple to the amusement park. She even asked me to bring Yan Yan along. I knew you wouldn’t be free, and felt that it wasn’t appropriate to let her take care of two children on her own, so I agreed to go,” Jiang Peiying said with a smile. “It just so happens that you won’t be free, and Liuxi has to sit for his examination.”
Yan Su fell completely silent and rubbed her forehead with her hand. She was about to go crazy! “Mom, how could you just…”
“Isn’t Sangsang your good friend? And also Yan Yan’s godmother? If we’re going to bring up blood ties, that’s her biological niece as well. Why are you being so squeamish about it? She’s going to find out about it sooner or later anyway,” Jiang Peiying reasoned. “Don’t worry about me, just concentrate on whatever it is you need to do.”
Yan Su had no idea what else to say.
Mo Liuxi, on the other hand, came over to console her calmly. “Mom is right. In any case, my sister will find out soon. Go ahead and have your breakfast. I’ll feed Yan Yan her breakfast.”
Feeding breakfast to an active and energetic one-year-old was a very demanding task. Mo Liuxi patiently fed the whole bowl of noodles to Yan Yan till not a single drop was left. Jiang Peiying was very satisfied upon witnessing it.
At 10 a.m., Jiaojiao dropped Jiang Peiying and Yan Yan off at the entrance of the amusement park. Luosang and the two children were already there, together with Sister Lan. Since there were so many children, having an extra adult present was more reassuring for everyone.
“Yan Yan, did you miss me?” Yan Jin ran over and carried Yan Yan in his arms. “I brought you something yummy!”
