Chapter 719: When Had Her Place Ever Been This Clean?
The next day, she was woken up by the doorbell at about eight in the morning. “Who is it?” She walked over to the door unhappily. Nian Qingyun was on her doorstep.
“What are you doing here, Dad?” Nian Xi was stunned, since she had just woken up.
“I was around for some errands so I decided to drop by and visit you.” Nian Qingyun stepped into the house, shocked to see the floors spick and span.
Every time he had dropped by previously, her house had been a mess. It was always cluttered and there would be no space for him to even take his shoes off.
It was starkly different today, so much so that he thought he was in the wrong house. Even the tables were tidy and neat, and bags of trash were lined up neatly against the wall.
He had tried countless times to get his daughter to clean up her place, but it was to no avail. He didn’t blame her. He could understand her routine given that she was a police officer.
“I’m impressed. You know how to tidy up your house now.” Nian Qingyun nodded his head meaningfully. “It’s very nice and clean, better than the professional cleaners at my workplace.” His son drove him up the wall, so thank goodness that he had a sweet, darling daughter.
Nian Xi thought it was ridiculous. Her place was clean? Was he getting old? Perhaps he couldn’t see as well as before.
She hadn’t cleaned her place in nearly half a month. She quickly noticed the bags of trash neatly lined against the wall and the polished floors.
Was this really her house? When had her place ever been this clean? She was a little confused.
Nian Qingyun opened the shoe cabinet and said with relief, “Not bad at all. Seems like you’ve tried to improve yourself after breaking up with Jichuan.” Even the shoes were placed neatly in rows on their shelves.

“If you keep this up, you won’t have to worry about being left single.” Nian Qingyun retrieved a pair of slippers.
Nian Xi watched him in confusion before she finally remembered the man she had brought home the night before.
Had he done all this the night before? Impossible. Was he that good at cleaning up?
Wait, he was still sleeping in the bedroom. Nian Qingyun could never find out about this. If he did…
At this juncture, the guest bedroom door flew open, and Jiang Yuning walked out. His hair was black and messy, and he wasn’t wearing a shirt. His eyes were squinted and he looked like he was still dreaming.
“…” Nian Qingyun was speechless. Was he just old and confused? Who was this topless man in his daughter’s home?
Nian Xi was shocked. Did he really have to appear right then? She was surely going to be scolded by Nian Qingyun. “Dad…”
“Nian Xi,” Nian Qingyun shouted angrily. “Who is he?”
Jiang Yuning was finally woken up by the angry shout, and his eyes fluttered wide open. He froze halfway to the bathroom and stared at Nian Qingyun with his innocent eyes.
Nian Qingyun was a little stunned when he took a good look at him, but he continued shouting angrily as he walked towards Jiang Yuning. “Who the hell are you—”
Nian Xi was worried that her dad would become violent, so she quickly stopped him. “Dad, don’t be mistaken. I’m not in that kind of relationship with him…”
Nian Qingyun’s face was red with anger. “How dare you lie to me that you don’t have anything to do with this man?! Why would he be walking around your place like this then? Do you think I’m blind or just stupid?”
Jiang Yuning looked at the two of them innocently. He looked like a precious porcelain doll as he stood completely still.
