Chapter 6: Getting To Class Unnoticed

As he settled into his seat, Ayo kept checking his fellow classmates to see if anyone had noticed anything off about him. He had gotten there earlier enough that not everyone was there yet. Barely half the class was there. Not even the teacher was there which gave him time to try to calm himself down.

He couldn't let anyone see him off. They might realize something was wrong with him if he didn't calm down, but he couldn't calm down. Every time someone moved or laughed, he couldn't stop himself form flinching. He kept thinking that they were approaching him or laughing at him even though there should have been no way for them to know.

Ayo wished he had feigned being sick, but that meant dealing with his parents. He wasn't sure which one was worse.

The sight of the teacher walking in as class was starting kept him from continuing his existential crisis. Right now he had to act natural.
