The night was settling in, and the twelve vermilion glass lamps in the room remained quietly burning.
Situ took a warm towel and wiped the blood-stained face of the person who collapsed.
A clean and delicate face was revealed.
The facial features of the juvenile were excellent. His face was sculpted with sharp edges and corners, appearing gentle yet sharp.
This appearance was suited very much to Situ’s liking.
Her fingers slid across his thin and powdery lips before settling on his fragile neck.
Situ’s eyes were dark and she exerted a little force to the point where a red mark was drawn.
Suddenly, the internal alarms of the system rang out.
[Host, calm down, you don’t want to kill for sport.]
If she killed the villain, both her and the system were goners. However, her grip on his neck never loosened.
[If we kill him, the original owner’s wishes can be fulfilled.]
She retorted back to the system. It was he who destroyed the city, and he was the one who contributed to the ending of the original owner’s exile and eventual death in the wilderness.
They would be free if she killed him!
[Our mission is to save the yandere villain, not to assassinate him.]
The Host was very hostile, but they had to rescue him.
The system was becoming afraid.
[If you kill the villain, you, the Host, will not obtain your scattered Divine Consciousness. Plus, your Divine Power and memories will not be restored either.]
The system made a big move; it didn’t believe that the Host would give up her former position as a Goddess.
[Oh, I don’t really care.]
Intuitively, she didn’t want to remember everything.
As for that position as a Goddess, why would she care?
The system thought that this Host was not that easy to cajole. It took back what it once said about her.
“Ehm.”
The person who had once collapsed was groaning in pain.
That medicine was very effective for healing external wounds, but applying it made the injury sting a bit.
The slender boy was lying on the quilt as his long eyelashes started shaking uneasily.
Situ’s heart itched when she saw that sight.
She released her palms and Situ’s fingertips rested on Yan Xiaobai’s eyelashes.
These eyelashes seemed to be more delicate than a woman like her.
Forget it. After all, he was still young, and under my commands, he probably wouldn’t be able to cause much trouble.
As long as I make sure that he has a good life and train him carefully, there should be some form of salvation.
She didn’t believe that she would meet the antagonist that was supposed to kill the original owner in this life.

That is hard to say.
[The Host is very obedient.]
The system praised her in time as her nonchalant heart gave up the idea of killing the villain.
As long as she didn’t kill the villain, the system was fine with her doing anything she wanted to.
The boy’s eyes rolled, and there were signs of him waking up soon.
His initially burning hot back actually felt rather cooling at this point.
Someone must have given him medicine.
This realisation made Yan Xiaobai sneer.
What was he thinking? No one from the Fengqi Palace would be kind enough to give him medicine.
He must have gone insane.
Even the one who rescued him from the slave farm would not have such a carefree mind.
Not to mention the fact that his injuries were all thanks to her. Hence, it was all just wishful thinking, after all.
“What are you thinking about?”
Situ poked his face. Obviously, he was awake, but he wouldn’t open his eyes.
Was he trying to mess with her?
Forget it, he was still young, so she wasn’t going to be that nitpicky.
Hearing the familiar voice, Yan Xiaobai suddenly opened his eyes.
Two pairs of eyes faced each other as time stood still. And for a while, Yan Xiaobai didn’t respond.
The person in front of me is Her Highness?
He must have been hallucinating.
Why would Her Highness, studded with golden branches and jade leaves, come to the Side Palace to see him?
Wait!
The palm of his hand touched the warm, and soft quilts and Yan Xiaobai froze in place as if he had been hit hard.
Looking around, Yan Xiaobai confirmed his inner thoughts.
This is the Main Palace of Her Highness; this bed belongs to Her Highness too!
The familiar scent of styrax rushed into the tips of his nose, sweet and intoxicating.
Yan Xiaobai pinched the quilt as his knuckles started to turn white whereas pain kept him awake.
What does she want to do with me? Whip me or use the pole and hit me? Perhaps, she’s going to execute me by now.
Yan Xiaobai closed his eyes and lowered his head like an abandoned beast. He knew very well that all the good things in the world just had to go against him.
[What happened to this person?]
Situ saw his expression change from utter joy to sorrowful grief in seconds, so she thought that it was hard to figure him out.
[I guess that this is the sin that the original owner made— something you have to fix.]
The system sighed, knowing that this task wouldn’t be that easy.
