It was the early morning of the next day.

“Sequencee, who exactly is Schwii? Is it even alright for Lilian and I to call her by her first name?”

Ro had just finished wiping down his body and donned the new clothes Schwii had bought for everyone yesterday, saying that they should at least be presentable when moving around the academy.

The fact that Schwii willingly spent over 9 platinum for them in a single day speaks a lot about the background she had. She was a walking bank.

“She’s a childhood friend of mine, is all I can say..”

“I know that. Is she trying to hide her house name or anything like that? Or is she the daughter of a wealthy merchant? I’m feeling guilty that she just spent all that money on us.. I don’t know how to repay her.”

‘I have no idea how to repay the debt either.’

As the proxy of Leviath nation, the fact that Schwii had come all the way here and then support him with her resources just shows how much she’s trying to win his heart over. She needed his help to save her mother, so.. perhaps going to the academy was one way she wanted to build up Sequencee’s ability?

‘She knows so much about me, I know nothing about her..’

What did Schwii mean by saving her mother anyways? What happened 6 years ago? Why did her mother become imprisoned and why did she have to rule over the entire territory at such a young age? Just what exactly did she have to sacrifice to get to this point? Why can’t she tell Sequencee about it all?

‘Pathetic..’

Alongside his mother, he lost all responsibility. But Schwii? Compared to her, what Sequencee has been through was nothing. She lost her mother and had to shoulder all the burden that came along with it.

“Looks like I’m not the only one who feels like that huh?” Ro said.

“Yeah..”

“For some reason, I’m starting to root you on with Schwii instead of Leticia.. don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean you have to take my words literally, I’m just saying okay?”

“I know.”

After the odd banter between the guys, they packed up their luggage and walked out of the room. Sequencee felt somewhat empty; the horns of his younger self were no longer with him.

‘It’s funny how succubus’ have a natural ability to hide their features while I have to use a spell.’

System activated spells were unique in that they were much more powerful and handier compared to the norm. It also evokes via a third relay point, thus it isn’t necessarily in the hands of the user. Knowing this, it’s why Sequencee’s horn didn’t show even when he passed out or when an anti-magic barrier had been used. That was the great benefit of having a system spell.

“Morning, Sequencee.”

“Morning Schwii.”

“Morning.”

“Good morning you two.”

Everyone had their luggages packed and set by the side of the table. They ordered set meals with bacon, eggs, sausages and toast on Schwii’s dime– not. Sequencee paid for it before she had the chance.

Schwii didn’t comment on it.

“Lilian, Ro.”

“Yes?”

“Y-Yes?”

The two froze out when she called them.

“I won’t be providing you two with allowances during your stay in the academy. You’ll have to manage your spendings on your own, I hope you understand this clearly.”

“Understood,” Ro nodded stiffly.

“It would be weird if you paid for that too..” Lilian laughed.

“In that case, I’ll probably have to introduce them to Dimitri guild then,” Sequencee said.

“Dimitri guild?” Schwii tilted her head.

“They need to earn their own money right? I once worked at a different branch back at Luddite Earldom.”

“That’s not too bad of an idea,” she muttered.

“Schwii, thank you for everything yesterday,” Lilian bowed sincerely, almost knocking her head into the table in the process.

“I did it for myself, but I’m grateful for your words.”

“Thank you Schwii,” Ro followed up.

Checking out of the inn, the four of them made their way to the academy. Passing the gate, they went to the arrival office, Schwii holding the necessary documents that proved their enrolment.

There, the four of them were provided with the included school uniform. A crips black coat with white motifs over a white collared shirt and tie. A golden badge and name burnt into the tag pinned that they were informed should be pinned to the right side of the coat.

For the girls, black pleated skirt at knee length with black socks and black shoes. For guys, black pants with black shoes. A simple silver pin of a lotus flower, an integral part of the Riestallia Academy’s insignia, was given to them. You could use it as either a hair pin or slip it between the tie.

Only those from first class courses are given a gold pin, everyone else was given a silver one.

The uniforms are to be worn during class, outside that it was alright to wear other clothes.

That aside, there was also the training uniform for physical activities. For the girls, it was a light dress with a black coat, diamond patterns adorning the hem of fabric. Girls are required to wear short pants underneath. For the guys, it was a short sleeved shirt with short track or long pants.

Lilian and Schwii had mixed feelings about the design, nevertheless, school regulations were school regulations.

After that, they were pushed to a guide who will orientate them to the amenities in the academy. The orientation rounds started at 10 am, and from the schedule it would end somewhere around 6 pm with everyone being led to their dormitory.

“My name is Loki, you can call me by whatever name you like, a volunteer from the anthropology department. Will be guiding you all today, I’ll be in your care,” the lanky guy in the glasses bowed to everyone.

‘Anthropology is a thing?’

“Let’s see.. first on the list of places.. actually, you guys hold on. I need to use the washroom. Stay and don’t go astray,” saying so, he dashed right out of the gathering lounge, the people in the room laughed.

At a glance, you could tell that many of the students here were from nobility. From their mannerism to the way they portrayed themselves through the accessories they wore. They weren’t flaunting, but it made Ro and Lilian quite uncomfortable.

Perhaps it was because of Schwii’s beauty, many of them glanced her way. A couple minutes after the guide’s absence, one of the girls was bold enough to step into her presence.

“A pleasure to meet you, my name is Gibera Leon,” and perhaps because she thought Schwii was a high noble from the way she carried herself, she spoke in a way which humbled herself.

“Nice to meet you Miss Leon, I’m Schwii,” Schwii greeted in a way that put distance between them, making it seem as if she were a naive commoner.

Gibera then greeted Sequencee, Ro and Lilian in turn. Though she was a little surprised by how they were commoners, she made sure to respect them by not showing it outwardly.

“Which department did you join?”

“The four of us have enrolled into the second class enforcer course. How about you?”

“All four of you? That’s impressive. I’ve taken the magic concert course.”

The magic concert course was an entirely separate field specifically for mages. It is also a course involving combat, however, magic concerts have more to do with combat during wars. The teaching is on the coordination of hundreds of mages to cast a single spell, be it a spell to change the weather, to control terrain, or even to summon a hero. Magic concert has its roots in the Last Era, and is important as a powerful backline defense when holding down a fort.

Schwii who had no knowledge of it titled her head, it was an endearing expression which almost took Gibera’s soul away. Sequencee followed up by whispering an explanation to her, their proximity almost made the guys in the room boil, while the girls blushed.

“I’m back. Nobody left right? I’ll do a head count, one.. two.. three.. just kidding,” Loki waved his hands off.

With everyone on the list here, they set off on tour. Their first stop was the different departments in the Sage’s Hall building. The admissions office, lounge, mailing service, etcetra.

After that they headed to the first academy building passing the vast plains where Sequencee previously took the magic assessment in the second round of appraisal.

Sequencee didn’t have fond memories of this building, on the third floor was apparently where that senile elf’s office was. Fortunately the group didn’t encounter him, otherwise it might turn into a bloodbath.

Beyond the first academy was where the campus actually began. The student had to enter using the silver student pass they were given; an entirely new world opened up to them.

The academy campus was structured around the pagoda in a C-shape. A giant lake divided the campus and sacred land of the pagoda which was Hero Rika’s dwelling during when she was still alive. This was going to become the home hub for the hero that will be summoned in a week’s time.

“That building over there is the main cafeteria. After touring around a bit, we’re going to have lunch there if it’s alright with everyone? I hear no objections? Let’s continue.” Loki’s manner of speaking aroused the laughter in everyone, the mood was lightened by his presence.

“I didn’t think there was a human place so beautiful,” Schwii said.

“Really? Is the demon nation not like this?”

“We have training barracks to keep up war potential but compared to that, humans really do care a lot about the aesthetic of things.”

Sequencee had never gone to any demon nation before, so when Schwii gave her impression, his inner adventurer was piqued.

They were led around the various departments and buildings which covered the campus grounds. Each building carried with it a unique design, from the commonly seen square-type skyscrapers to adjoined minka’s with wooden structures reinforced with bricks, steel, stone blocks and paper windows. A seamless fusion between eastern and western which stole the hearts of the students.

Moving into the largest minka at the northern side of the campus, they entered a museum which kept the artifacts and history of the Great Rika Kobayashi. Glass encasing which housed replicas of the holy armor used in battle, life-size models of the demons Rika fought, and the equipment used by her and her companions during the final battle including the kamikaze-knights crest of the Last Era, a knight division founded by the hero.

Sequencee stopped at one of the pedestal which had a glass box over what seemed to be demon horns. He walked towards it and read the label.
