Today is a busy day at King's Cross station, especially in a certain part hidden behind a certain wall. Lots of people dressed in robes swarmed platform 9 3/4, bringing about a hectic only seen twice a year.
But that had nothing to do with Luke as he came a lot earlier because of the dreaded masses of humans, which he can now safeley watch from his window.
Luke was found as a baby by the elderly Ellis Schwarzwasser, who promptly adopted and raised him. The old witch originating from Germany lived a secluded live faraway from anyone and was thus sufficiently suprised to find a baby in her front yard at that time but cared for it like she would for her own grandchildren.
She never knew that the baby she named Luke was not a human but the first elemental to walk on earth since the extinction of the dinosaurs.
This morning Ellis brought Luke to the station very early to avoid the madness that are the last minutes before the train goes off, said goodbye and apparated back home as fast as she could to bask in the silence like she did for centuriesyes, plural.
Luke meanwhile searched himself a cabin on the train which brings us back to him watching the other children boarding. At some point someone knocks on the door.
"Hey, can I come in?", sounded a girls voice from the other side. "I don't know, can you?" "Haha, very funny", came the answer shortly before the door got swung open and a young girl came in with her luggage before closing the door again.
'She seems to be a freshman as well', thought Luke while they both observed each other.
The girl had the same height as Luke, bushy brown hair and noticeable large front teeth. She was dressed like the people Luke had seen in front of platform 9 3/4. 'I think they were called "muggles"? Yes "muggles" it was. Damn lazy grannie never took me out anywhere. Nearly belived there are no other humans out there.'
Luke himself had no imperfections like too long teeth, as his body essentialy consists out of lightning, but that was the only thing outstanding about his appearance. Luke was neither tall nor athletic, just your average 11 year old boy.
After the mutual observation the girl spoke up first, "Hello, I'm Hermione, a new student this year." "The name is Luke and I too am a new student. You can sitdown anywhere you like." came my own greetings. The girl, well Hermione, sit down opposite from me after storing her luggage using the levitation spell described in the spellbook.
"You are a muggle, right? And you already know a spell?"
"Yes and yes, any problem with that?"
"No not at all, just pretty impressive."
"Hmpf"
"My grandma tried teaching me some of the things from the book but that stopped after I zapped her with a little lightning instead of creating a ball of light. So, till now I can only do some things with electricity but nothing else."
"So you grew up in the wizarding world?"
"More like I grew up with my grandma. We rarely or rather never legt her home, so I too am not that familiar with everything around here."
"And here I thought I could learn something about this world, but nevermind."
Silence ensues for quite some time, me reading the potions book, already dreading the class from the complexity alone, and Hermione flipping through various books in the search of something new.
Then idea started to grow in my mind.
I recently learned through self learning and(mostly) some inborn memories how my species functions, including a sort of memory transfer used to transfer knowledge between ELEMENTALS.
So I spoke up: "Hey Hermione."
"Hmm"
"Hey!"
"What?" comes back an annoyed reply as she finally gets her head out of the book.
"I know a spell that can link our minds for a short period of time. Don't worry it is safe as they are only marginally connected. In that state we could transfer knowledge with each other, meaning I could give you my knowledge of the wizarding world and you could give me knowledge about how you learnd your spells. How is it? Interested?"
"Rather not. Sounds dangerous after you admitted that you can only generate lightning."
"I can prove it to you."
"How?"

"Easy, I use the spell and when it works our minds are connected and otherwise you get zapped."
"No, no, no. No chance, I don't want to get zapped"
'This is bad, I need to learn how to cast other spells other than lightning ones. Maybe I should just do it? Yeah I should, for the greater, ahem my, good.'
After my short thinking pause I try again to convince her while secretely pulling out my wand: " It would just be a tiny zap, at most your hair would look like you are a hedgehog."
"And that is exactly what I am fearing!"
At that time I finally have my wand, a beautiful combination of gold and silver with a small bit of me as the core, out.
"What are you doing", shrieks Hermione as she discovers my drawn wand
"Hehehe. Gedanken LinkYes, that is german and yes, I am going to use german for selfmade spells!"
A small white light of pure elemental energie, not mana, builds at the tip of my wand, before it floats betwwen us and, to Hermiones horror, grows into a beam of sorts, connecting our heads, or rather minds.
Well, it should have. Instead it thows Hermione back against the wall, where she slumps down while the beam fiszles out of existence.
"Hermione!" I shout as I jump out of my seat and over to her.
There I notice that she has fallen unconcious. Proping her up in a sitting position in the corner of the bank, I think about what went wrong: 'The spell clearly was casted correctly and it looked like it should from what I've seen in my inborn memories, where elementals used it to comunicate.
Wait.
Elementals.
Elementals?
Elementals!!!
The spell was intendet to be used between elementals and only elementals.'
'Oh F*ck, Oh F*ck, Oh F*ck, what have I done! I hope she survives.'
A long, agonizing wait consisting of me regularly checking her pulse and shifting her position so that she lies across the bank with her head on my legs.
After a good hour someone knocks on the door and as I open it, after l carefully stand up, a rather fat boy greets me.
"Have you seen my Toad?"
"No I haven't" I snap back, the boy visible wincing.
"Than I'll be on my way" he replied shakingly and I close the door and go back to the still unconcious Hermione.
Finally, after several hours, she begins stirring and even before she opens her eyes I feel a mysterious connection form between us. She obviously feels it too as she twitches rather violently. 'My poor ribs.' Shortly after I identify the connection from my memories.
I blush
It is a connection that normally forms betwwen to elementals who had been intimate with each other over a long timeframe.
And just as I wonder how that happened, as Hermione is a human I notice, that in fact she is no longer a human, but like me an elemental.
To be precicse, she is a wind elemental.
And that is the moment I see a fist incoming for my face.
