Chapter 1: About the book and the rewrite

I know this rewrite is a long time coming.

This announcement isn’t super important so people interested can read, those not interested can skip it.

I’ll start by apologizing for how long it has taken me to rewrite my earlier book. The truth is, I gave up on doing this rewrite for the longest time and the main reason is how negative the response was the last time around. Though it was most probably not malicious, it’s hard to continue writing when the response is so insanely negative.

But, during my hiatus, I saw a few reviews that were incredibly supportive, even several months after I marked the book as “being rewritten” and possibly abandoned. Those reviews are the main reason I got back to the book and actually wrote it.

This time around, I planned the story properly and not just wing it (yup, the last time I was coming up with the story as I wrote each chapter. Pantsing, as authors call it). I wrote out the plot for three out of the four volumes this book would have, and then I started writing.

The plot ended up being extremely different which is why I’ve created a new book instead of editing the earlier book. At some point in the future, I might finish the rewrite of the earlier book with the earlier plot but that’s for later.

The plot of the book differs greatly from the earlier book. So rather than a rewrite of the old book, it’s more of a new book. Which is why I left the old book as is and posted this as a new book.

The first volume took an incredibly long time to write. Months that had me writing sporadically and months that I almost wanted to give up. This was despite the first volume only having 16 chapters.

Finally, I completed the first volume and within a month of that; I was close to completing the second volume as well. Then I spent some time reading the story chapter by chapter, editing it and making sure I missed nothing. Making sure there were no plot holes or missed opportunities.

Then I ran the chapters through ProWritingAid (like Grammarly but does a better job with Fiction). I even purchased the premium version as well, just so it would do a better job. Even though I have confidence in my English, I wanted to make sure I was giving you guys the best possible story.

So there you have it. I’ve already finished writing the first two volumes and I’m working on the third one as I write this. I think the book will have 100 chapters (give or take).

I’ll post Monday - Friday and use the weekend to build up my stockpile and seriously edit and check my work. Editing and checking take much longer than writing, by the way. Once I’ve finished writing the story and checked everything, I’ll start posting daily.

While this might contain a Harem, it will be only 2 people, no more than that. I’ll change my plans for the harem if enough readers reject the idea. Though it is more of Polyamory than a Harem and I have a proper reason set up and not the usual pureblood wizards have multiple wives crap that most people seem to spout.

If you guys have any suggestions, requests, feedback or criticism, throw in a comment or a review. I just request that you guys make criticism constructive and not needlessly cruel. It’s demeaning and demoralizing and just makes authors quit midway. Constructive criticism is immensely helpful.
