Harry stirred and slowly opened his eyes to find himself in a dark space. He felt like he was floating in a sea of dark fog with a slight green hue to it.
Slowly, the surrounding scene assembled itself. Harry found himself in a drab room. It had little to no life to it. The only items in the room were the small bed, one that could not fit an adult, a dilapidated wardrobe, a rickety desk and an equally rickety chair.
The chair, however, had a young boy sitting on it and the desk had a single mug placed on it. The boy had short, black hair and was rather cute. However, his deep and oddly mature gaze ruined his childish appeal.
The boy raised his hand, pointing at a mug on the desk in front of him and seemed to concentrate on it, acting like many other children have done, playing around, hoping to have magical powers.
This boy didn’t seem to play around. The moment he concentrated, the mug shook for a moment and then inexplicably; it hovered off the desk and slowly made its way to the boy’s outstretched hand.
The scene froze for a moment, showing the smirk on the boy’s face before the scene faded and changed to another scene.
It showed the same boy, arguing with another boy with shoulder-length blond hair, around his age. The black-haired boy had untold rage on his face, an expression a child would normally never show.
After the blond boy went away, the black-haired boy showed his anger in the most primal way he could. He started punching everything he could get his hands on. Objects around him floated up into the air, only to be punched away by his small hands.
Finally calming down a little, the boy looked around, finding a lot of broken objects and quietly made his way out of the room. He walked out of the building and made his way to a cage kept a short distance from the main door.
Inside the cage, munching away at something in a bowl, was a cute, snow-white rabbit.
The boy showed a cruel smile as he unlocked the cage, then pointed at the rabbit which promptly floated out of the cage and followed behind him, squealing to get away.
The boy walked back to the building and stood in front of it; he raised his hand, and the rabbit flew towards the rafters and the moment it reached the rafters, rope sprung out of nowhere and tied the squealing rabbit to the rafters as tightly as possible. Laughing cruelly, the boy made his way back in.
Sitting in his room, he paid close attention to the sounds coming from outside and the moment he heard a scream; he made his way out of the building to find a crowd standing there, looking up.
He looked up to find the rabbit hanging limp from the rafters, dead.
The blond boy stood at the front of the group, sobbing uncontrollably, repeatedly asking someone to climb up and get his rabbit.
The scene froze again at the look of delight on the black-haired boy’s face and then faded again.
“Who is that boy? Why is he so cruel and why the hell am I stuck here watching these disturbing things?” screamed Harry.
However, he received no answer, and soon another scene started playing.
He watched as the boy, now a few years older, led two other children, a boy and a girl, into a cave. He then captured a few rats with a wave of his hand. A feat that seemed to be admired by the two children, despite their obvious disgust for the black-haired boy.
The black-haired boy then controlled the rats, making them fight each other and eat the flesh off each other while they were still alive, till the point where one of them died. He then continued to have the other rat eat the one that died till there were only bones, much to the horror of the two children.
Then, with another wave of his hand, the bones of the dead rat put themselves back together, into the completed skeleton of the rat, and looked around for a moment before it started attacking the two children viciously.
Scared out of their minds, the children stood frozen in place, unable to move or defend.
Feeling he had scared them enough, the black-haired boy put his hands on the collars of the other children, pulled them closer, scaring them even more and asked them calmly to keep quiet about what they saw if they didn’t want the same to happen to them.
The children nodded promptly before running out of the cave, leaving the black-haired boy behind, with a cruel smirk on his face.
The scene faded and quickly showed the next scene. This time, back in the boy’s room, facing a tall man with auburn hair and a long auburn beard who, Harry realized, looked just like Dumbledore in the memory he had witnessed in Riddle’s diary.
Dumbledore spoke at length with the boy, explaining how the boy was actually a wizard and that Dumbledore himself was one, proving it by setting his wardrobe on fire and then putting it out.

What caught Harry’s attention the most was when Dumbledore called the boy Tom Riddle.
“So that means the boy is actually a young Voldemort?” thought Harry in shock.
“Then, are these actually Voldemort’s memories? Ones that no one but he should know.” He mused, before something dawned on him.
“Didn’t this happen when that green light went into me? Then these might actually be the real Voldemort’s memories!”
He continued to watch as Dumbledore told him all the details he would need to know about Hogwarts and getting everything he needed for the new school year before handing him some money, a letter and then walking away.
The scene changed swiftly to one with Riddle in Diagon Alley, looking at everything with interest, buying second-hand robes and finally stopping at Ollivander’s shop to buy a wand.
Harry clenched his hand as he watched Riddle buy the thirteen-and-a-half inch yew wand with a phoenix tail feather, which was what he used that day when Cedric Diggory died.
The scene faded once again, and this time, it showed the sorting ceremony. Riddle sat on the bench with a sorting hat on his head for only a few seconds before the hat shouted out ‘Slytherin’.
The years in Hogwarts flashed by. How Riddle searched high and low to find his father’s name in Hogwarts. How he eventually realised his father was probably a muggle, how he looked up his maternal grandfather’s name and found how he was related to Salazar Slytherin himself.
Harry watched the elation in Riddle’s face when he realised he was special, even in the wizarding world. Feeling proud of himself, he continued Slytherin’s legacy and, after much research; he found out about the Chamber of Secrets and opened it and tamed the monster of Slytherin, a huge basilisk.
Riddle then performed atrocities on the muggle-born students of the school, attacking them with the basilisk and finally killed one.
However, much to Riddle’s shock, at the death of the student, the school board shut down the school until the matter was resolved, much to Riddle’s dismay.
Realising that, if the school closed, he would have to return to the orphanage he hated so very much, he came up with a scheme to put an end to the current crises.
Harry watched the much too familiar scene of Riddle framing Hagrid for his own crimes and even received an award for his lies and treachery.
The scene fast-forwarded a few months and showed Riddle in front of a small shack. Harry watched as Riddle remembered about the trace placed by the ministry and how he used an odd method to block the trace before making his way into the shack and meeting who, he realised soon, was his maternal uncle.
Finding out about his father and his family from his uncle, Harry felt Riddle’s rage at the thought of his muggle father.
He watched as Riddle stunned his uncle, grabbed his wand and made his way over to the Riddle house as he mercilessly killed his father, grandfather and grandmother.
He rushed back to the shack, returned the wand and altered his uncle’s memory into thinking that he was the one who killed the riddles.
He grabbed his uncle’s ring and made his way out of the place.
The scene changed again and showed the conversation between Riddle and Slughorn about horcruxes.
Harry felt amazed and horrified as he watched Riddle get information about horcruxes. Only then did he realise what the Voldemort in his mindscape really was.
Harry had inadvertently become a horcrux, however, what horrified him the most was the thought that there might be more out there. More items that would make it impossible to just outright kill Voldemort without destroying them first.
The scene then changed to show Riddle in a remote location, holding onto a diary and Gaunt’s ring as he performed a ritual, ripping his soul into pieces which revolved around the ritual site for a few moments before rushing into the diary and ring, transforming them into his first horcruxes.
‘That’s two horcruxes,’ thought Harry, ‘Luckily, I already destroyed the diary.’
