Chapter 1: Chapter 1 – Destruction and a new beginning.

November 2nd, 2022, Times Square, New York City, USA.

It was night, and the big screens illuminated the American population and the tourists who frequented Times Square daily. Cars honked non-stop, and taxi drivers seemed impatient because of New York's crazy traffic.

On the sidewalks, street performers performed non-stop for a second while curious tourists gave them a few dollars.

The cold wind whipped against the big buildings several times and "cut" the skin of the residents and visitors who were not wearing warm clothes. The temperature was not below zero, but the wind intensified the sensation of the cold.

All that calmness was about to be transformed into despair by a single cloud that appeared in the sky in the center of Times Square. That cloud stood still and began to attract attention.

A cloud so low and the violet rays appearing in the middle of it were not common.

The curious people stood there watching, but the more intelligent people started evacuating at that moment, even though nothing dangerous was happening. They sensed that something was wrong.

The most sensitive people had already started to despair.

"What is that? Something's coming out!" A man of about 60 years old said as he put his hands in the arms of his wheelchair that he had used to get around because of an accident.

He continued to stare at the cloud as the people around him held their breaths.

"My god, what is that?" A man of about 30 years old said while despair was stamped on his pale face.

"That can't be real." A woman said while holding her less-than-one-year-old son in her arms. Her hands were shaking, and she squeezed the child harder than she should have, causing the child to start crying.

"Shit is that a hand?!" A policeman who always did his patrols in that area said. Immediately, he called his comrades and started evacuating the area, which soon turned into pandemonium.

From the dark cloud, an utterly black hand that could be almost 10 meters in size had emerged. And when it did, the first victims of the incident appeared.

A violet ray crossed the sky and crashed into an advertising sign on the 20-plus-story building. The image on the screen disappeared, and at the same instant, the advertising sign shook and detached itself from the building.

Falling from a height of almost 50 meters, the giant screen fell on a group of six evacuating people. It turned their bodies to nothing, and the victims' blood dripped down the sidewalk.

When this happened, people's desperation intensified, and the great rush began. As the number of people was so large, some older people were trampled.

A few more victims were made.

No human at that moment cared about the life of the other as the big, utterly black arm of that giant creature was already out of the cloud.

It was unbelievable even for the believers in the existence of supernatural and fantasy things.

They thought they would shock the world because they would be the first to report something as unbelievable.

But that was not the case.

The whole planet had gone on alert, and the army of all nations had already been put in the field to fight whatever it was.

All this was possible because of the speed at which the monsters came out of the clouds. It took days before half their bodies were out. They slowed their speeds to give a little hope to the foolish humans that inhabited that planet.

Then the armies launched the first attack.

They didn't care about the surrounding buildings since all the residents had already been evacuated.

"Fire!" Shouted one of the generals of the united states army. They used a tank to fire toward the monster that was half-body out. Its hands were already reaching the ground.

The shot crashed into the monster's head, and flames took over its face. But it did no damage.

The monsters with completely black bodies and white eyes that shone like the light of a 1000000-lumen flashlight kept moving even if they were attacked several times.

The armies used guns, tanks, and even missiles to get rid of those things. However, everyone realized that it was impossible to destroy one of those monsters even if they dropped a nuclear bomb on them.

Five days passed, and finally, the monsters were out of the portals that opened in the clouds. It had been a harrowing few days.

In every country, the monsters came out simultaneously, falling on the ground and causing a low-magnitude earthquake. Despair was seen on the faces of all the nearby soldiers who began their attack.

Weapons were ineffective, so they knew they were there only to be murdered by those bizarre, giant creatures like multi-story buildings.

"Damn it!!! Guarrrr!" One soldier breathed his last as he thought of his daughter, who had been evacuated along with his wife. Little did he know that the two would be killed only an hour later in a shelter.

From then on, humanity's war against giant black monsters began. But of course, unable to harm those giant monsters, humanity began to be massacred, and within a few years, the population had dropped by almost 80%.

Not only because of the monsters but because of the wars that started over the monopoly of some things. The lack of water and food for the people also began to become a problem.

In several years, with the birth rate dropping because of the situation and the climate on the planet getting worse and worse because of those giant monsters that polluted everywhere they went, humanity had become extinct.

Who would have thought that just a few monsters would be enough to destroy everything humans had built up over thousands of years? This is somewhat comical, as humans were said to be at the top of the food chain.

Many imagined that humans would destroy themselves, but that was not the case.

And when the last human took his last breath, the monsters disappeared, leaving behind only a devastated and lifeless planet—no rivers with water, no green areas.

Life had ended not only for humans but all life on the planet.
