Chapter 33: Chapter 33 – Toward Tyso.

When night came, I looked out the bedroom window. After that, the bat summoned by Rias went out the window and started flying through the darkness.

"The guards outside didn't notice the presence of the bat. That's good. You're sure you can use that bat to 'clear' our path, aren't you, Rias?" I asked the girl next to me.

"Yes, it won't be much of a problem." Changing her appearance to look like Noelle, I left my room with her. Noelle had already left earlier and hidden somewhere outside the mansion.

"Good evening, Master Noah. Are you going to dinner?" As soon as we descended the stairs, we ran into a maid. She doesn't suspect Noelle was a fake Noelle; this shows that we will have no trouble fooling the others with Rias's skill.

"I'm going to the training camp with Noelle."

"To the training camp? At this hour?"

"Yes. I was quite excited after discovering a new fighting move." I gave a sincere smile to the maid, and she gave me a kind smile. The maid then walked away, and we left the mansion through the front door.

After we left, Rias' bat appeared.

"The guards have a pattern of movement. Each of them will look after a region. However, there is one place they don't look very often." Rias said confidently.

"Where?"

"In the back house. If we can get there, we can leave the using its back door. The guards don't guard that place."

"All right. I think we can get to that house without any problems. If I'm with Noelle, the guards won't suspect anything." They wouldn't assume that I was planning an escape with Noelle.

They probably think Noelle is a girl who wouldn't have the courage to go against the Lord. I thought that too, so it was a surprise when she offered to come with me.

'Does she like me that much?' I shook my head and put these thoughts out of my mind. This is not the right time to think about romance or those feelings.

"Hide the bat, and then let's go to the back house. Just walk beside me in silence." Usually, Noelle acted like this when she was by my side, walking around the mansion. A cold and silent girl.

But when she is alone with Anne or me, she changes her way of acting. She becomes a more cheerful girl. She seems afraid to show her true self to other people.

Since all my siblings' maids are older, serious women, she probably doesn't think my father would like to see her acting so cheerful around the mansion.

'What an idiot.' I clicked my tongue and continued walking with Rias at my side. A few guards looked at us, but they didn't suspect anything. Since I wasn't carrying my backpack, they had no reason to be suspicious.

Noelle had taken my backpack with her when she left earlier. I wonder how she managed to leave without anyone getting suspicious. 'To tell you the truth, I don't even know if she managed to leave without anyone finding out about our plans.'

I didn't get any sign of her. Because of this, I started to get a little nervous and began to sweat. However, I sighed and calmed down when we arrived inside the back house.

But I told her not to worry about trivial things, and we continued walking through the forest. We got far enough away from the mansion and then started walking through the trees until we were in the direction of Tyso.

Afterward, we had just to walk straight ahead until we reached the town.

After we were already on the route to Tyso, I looked around and sighed in relief. But my relief turned to concern when some sounds started coming from the forest.

Rias stepped in front of me to protect me. However, as soon as the supposed monster appeared, we discovered it was Noelle. With her body all covered in mud and blood, she appeared with my backpack on her back and daggers in both hands.

She was wearing her maid's clothes even though I had asked her to put on more comfortable and warmer clothes because it was getting cold.

"You scared me," I said.

"You went in a completely different direction than I imagined. I encountered some monsters on the way, but I've dealt with them."

"I got it... But now, let's hurry." I grabbed my backpack, and we headed toward Tyso. Noelle was in the front and cleared the way with her daggers whenever necessary.
