Lucifer was pleased that the plan was going accordingly. Although, Michael’s daughter was a small surprise element he wasn’t expecting. She won’t be in the way. Just Kate he thought. He saw Kate’s upset face as she talked to Pitch.

He could see the calculating expression as she quickly thought of what to do next. He saw her in the corner of his eyes as he looked down at the surrounding two teenagers.

Pitch roared, “Kill them!”

Lucifer wondered what these teenagers would do. It would be impossible for them to kill all of Pitch’s people without Timothy’s magic. Lucifer wasn’t sure if Sara had powers of her own. He watched as Timothy said, with a small frantic quiver, “You don’t want to do this.”

Kate gripped the marble railings, “Fuck,” she cursed. “Michael is going to kill me. What am I supposed to do?” She was mostly talking to herself at this point.

“Aren’t you Michael’s best sidekick? Can’t you read Michael like a book and know what he would want at this very moment?” inquired Lucifer. The answer would be critical. He would know what she was to Michael.

Kate answered in a quick response, “I don’t know him! He’s not my—” She cut herself short and went pink.

Not my...what? Brother? Was that what she was going to say? Lucifer wished she finished that sentence.

“This is turning into a nightmare,” Kate said in almost a pity cry.

Pitch spat out, “Do what, Timothy? You know nothing of me.”

The wizards and witches were advancing towards them, their hands crackling alive with magic. A sly grin crossed all their faces. Their eyes were mostly on Timothy, who was at a defensive stand, his eyes glowing brightly with a fierce face. He gave a disgusted look.

Kate took a deep breath, “We defend or capture.”

Pitch raised his eyes to Kate and let out a bark of laughter, “With Mr. Morning-star? Will, that is almost a sight to behold! I should take a picture and frame it. So sentimental.”

“He’s lost his marbles,” gasped Kate.

Pitch laughed, “Maybe.” He glanced his eyes to his fellow sidekicks, “Don’t forget to bring her head to me. Katerina is a pain my ass.” He started to turn around and walk to the entrance.

Kate could feel a rush of anger course through her, “You don’t mean that!”

Pitch did a slight glance at Kate, “I do. Kill her.”

Kate’s heart froze as she saw the wizards and witches look at her, some running up the stairs to greet her with deadly force of magic. Kate unhooked her pistol, “You’re choice. Help me or not, Mr. Morning-star. We really will see what side you are in.”

Lucifer did a look at the distance of how long the wizards and witches would reach them. They kept tripping over each other in excitement, “We probably have less than ten seconds until they reach us, we can make a barrier to defend ourselves or the other option is to kill.”

“Kill her!” growled Pitch.

Sara whirled around, looking up at her. She glared back at Pitch and let out a horrible snarl at him, “You will not kill my friend. You will not do any damage to her.”

Pitch let out a chuckle, “Like you can stop me, girl?”

“Is that a dare?” spat Sara.

Kate was too busy tossing chairs and tables at the oncoming waves of the madness of wizards and witches and dodging magic shooting at her to focus on what her bodyguard was saying.

Pitch smirked, “You’re cute.” He slowly advanced to her, and said as an afterthought, “I do need a hostage.”

Sara let out a beautifully wicked smirk and Pitch stopped in his footsteps, stunned by the look, “Oh, threatening her bodyguard?” She yanked out swords underneath her cloak, grateful for the weight off of her. She swirled them around, “And Michael’s daughter...now that’s cute.” She lurched to him, unexpectedly, Timothy’s waving his hands as he thrust enemies coming to them. She called out to him, “You get your side, I’ll get mine.”

Sara hoped Kate could defend herself as she took everyone down. She half-expected Pitch to dash away, but he stood his ground, “Challenge accepted.” He let sparks of magic fly out of his hands and let a blast like a cannon fly in the air to her.

Sara let the speed carry fast to her and she ran at it as if she had a death wish, which sometimes she wondered if she did. Just a few inches from her, she felt the warmth of the glow of magic and she let her one foot lurch up, tucking in in a graceful somersault, over the blast and landed on the ground on her feet softly. She hissed between her teeth and saw Pitch’s improving look but he wasn’t done. Not even close.

He let lavender magic fly in a circle around him almost in a portal way, “Testing me, aren’t you?”

Sara laughed softly, “Not even close.” She flung a sword in a perfect straight strike. She had been trained to throw any kind of weapon at her enemy. It flew to Pitch at an unbroken speed that made him barely miss it as he let his magic conclude with it, dissolving it into nothing.

Sara frowned, not expecting that. Instead, the magic continued its way and rocketed to Sara’s chest. The blast hit her square in the heart and she could feel it electric around her body in a shocking sensation, moving up into her brain like a deadly virus. She dropped her other sword in shock.

“Sara!” Timothy said, but couldn’t reach her as he was overwhelmed with wizards and witches blasting their magic at him.

Pitch chuckled, and this time he knew he had the upper hand, “Thought you could beat me? How old are you, only fifteen? Ah, yes, immature thinking right there.” His smile turned into a twisted grin as he tossed his hands up, “Let’s see how you do with being controlled.”

Kate shoot out her rounds not missing any witches and wizards. They collapsed on the floor with thumps. She had her powers surround her in a field of protection. Each blast hit inches away from her, her fire shield dissolving each magic blast.

Lucifer wasn’t doing too bad himself. He waved his hands in almost a boring tone as the wizards and witches each fell into a deep sleep. He would never have guessed he would be fighting against his nemesis, Katerina Dixon, but yet here he was, his back almost pressed against hers. He could feel the strong pressure of her powers coming over him like a tide. She was undoubtedly powerful which slightly made him nervous. He knew the Dixon were a family to be reckoned with, but this girl, he had never felt such amazing power. He could feel heavenly fire course through her veins which he wasn’t surprised with, as that burned mark was there as evidence on his chest. But he was amazed by how much her body could take the heavenly powers coursing through her veins.

“How many are working with Pitch?” even Kate was now convinced no one could be this powerful unless it was Pitch, “Shit, Sara was right. This was a trap. How foolish could I’ve been? Michael should’ve known this.”

Lucifer knew that Michael would’ve noticed this. Barely anything slide that Michael didn’t catch easily. So, why did he let these girls do his mission? He couldn't help but do glance at where Sara was, fighting with Pitch himself. He’s not going to kill her right? He likes her too much that’s obvious. And what the fuck was he praying this morning...his mind continued this succession as they fought. Lucifer knew the look of a praying face, even if it was subtle, which Pitch's was, but he recognized that stance no matter what.

Too bad Michael is distracted to help you, Katerina. A smile tug at his face, but he wouldn’t let it become a full smile as he heard shoots from Kate and the thumping of fallen bodies.

“Maybe we should go down and help your friend?” suggested Lucifer as no more wizards and witches were coming on their way. Pitch’s sidekicks were now all mostly down on the main floor.

Kate nodded, some nervous sweat coming down from her, “I’ll lead the way.” She ran to the staircase and down it with a quick speed of carefulness to make sure she didn’t go too fast and bump into someone. She had to protect herself.

Lucifer knew her gun had endless bullets. It must’ve been a gift from Michael, for those guns were hard to find and even much harder to make. Might seem easy to make, just put some magic in it and runes to have the bullets shoot out endlessly, but it wasn’t. Those guns had to be made explicitly throughout the years.

He followed her down, motioning his hands freely, letting the witches and wizards fall from the staircase trying to fight with them. He and Kate were going too fast for his liking. So, as a blast of magic came through, Lucifer didn’t stop it as the blast hit Kate, her barrier breaking from the effort to keep it there. He pretended like he was distracted.

Kate tripped on the stairs and her knees buckled in surprise. She collapsed, rolling down the staircase. She let a yelp of exclamation of pain and witches and wizards moved out of the way, distracted from fighting the other magical creature. This whole building had become a battleground.

Lucifer saw the security guards of this building dead on the floor, their throats slashed or huge holes in their bodies from the unfortunate eruption of magic.

“Lucifer!” Kate gasped as she slowly got up, feeling a bone break on her leg. She winced at the pain and let her butt slide to the floor. Her fingers shook as she pressed against the bone sticking out of her leg and she let an agonizing cry. Her eyes sparkled fire as she let the bone slide back into place, tucked inside the skin. She huffed out a breath as the bone came into place. Sparks of fire came from her hands. A shining golden glow came from her palms as it came over her wound and her skin started to knit together.

Lucifer put a hand out for her and she took it to his surprise. He grasped her soft hand steadily as she stood up and whispered, “Thank you.” As a realization came over that she was letting him help her, she quickly put her hand away and took a couple of wobbling steps before she came back to herself, back into the fight.

Thomas Pitch couldn’t believe his luck as everything was going his way. Although this priss was in his way. Easy. Done. He had gotten control over her body like she was an easy slice of cake. The first time he laid eyes on her, he couldn’t believe how grown she has gotten, although her attitude was something to be worked on. She was a pretty fifteen years old growing into sixteen, although if he didn’t know better, he would’ve thought she was in her later teen years.

Sara jerked her head up in astonishment, “Control me?” This was her first mission in almost two years now, and she was feeling pressure to get this job done, and so far it wasn’t done correctly. It was a mess.

Pitch nodded, motioning his hand, in which Sara has yanked her legs to a side, trying to maintain her balance.

She could feel a strong pull as if she was now a puppet on strings. You’re stronger than this. She thought to herself, but she could not use her powers. It had been at least well over two months since she tried her powers. What if she hurt Timothy? The innocent magical creatures trying to call more guards in. Kate?

She did a twirl like a dance. Most importantly. What if she hurt herself? The disappointed look on her father she couldn’t bear.

She let out a crying scream, “Stop!”
