*Born This Way by Steppenwolf

This song for this chapter goes to Abaddon!

Enjoy ;)

The first thing Pitch saw was the castle standing in an ostentatious stance, stagnant up in the variety of colors of red in the sky. It made it a dull bleeding color as if the sky was about to bleed any minute. The warlock’s breath was caught away instantly as he stood over a cliff on a mountain, seeing the vast kingdom of Hell laid before him. Houses and buildings were lighted up, glistering the kingdom with aliveness. He saw that the sky was slowly turning into a darker color, like a red sunset. No sun sparkled in the sky, but a ripping red moon shone down upon the kingdom.

Abaddon put her hands on her hips and grinned wide, “You like it?”

Pitch nodded, speechless, not even trying to form words how to describe his amazement. The castle was in the middle of the kingdom, huge and majestic, with many floorings.

Abaddon said, “When we came here after the Holy War, Lucifer right away started to build the place that he wanted to call home. I made the sketches of the castle and he built whatever my heart contented. I couldn’t help, I was so wounded, but the finished product was made blowing.”

Pitch glanced at her to see any noticeable scars on her body. The only scar he saw was inside deep in her soul, burned and hurt beyond measure. He could sense it like a dark beacon overshadowing her emotions.

Abaddon did a small giggle and was already moving again, skidding down the mountain, Pitch following. He could easily get lost in the kingdom without a guide to escort him around the humongous city.

Abaddon snuck behind booths and buildings, trying not to be noticed. A demon glanced at their directions, but Abaddon grinned and kept walking at her fast pace. Pitch could feel her outburst of energy like a small child.

Pitch saw that she was wearing a flowy dress made that was black and had glittering stars twinkling as she walked. A golden royalty belt was around her slim stomach, and golden chains hung down her navel. He realized that her clothes changed immediately when they walked into Hell. Her appearance was striking as golden beads hung over her head like a crown.

Although Abaddon was barefoot as she danced around the city, she was gorgeous. Pitch’s bag was getting heavy as they continued sightseeing.

They walked to a water fountain...well, blood fountain is more a correct word, as blood gusted up into a beautiful, pink-designed fountain. Abaddon whispered, “I designed this fountain.” A statue of a gargoyle weeping out blood from its eyes.

“You thought you could run from me, Abaddon?” a voice said smoothly but was tight.

Abaddon and Pitch whirled around to see Lucifer with an angry looking passing his face. Caliber was behind him, wearing a royalty suit knight, and a sword dangling by his hips.

Lucifer’s eyes flickered to Pitch, “You brought another man here?”

Abaddon groaned, “Fucking damn it!”

“I am so sick of this game,” said Lucifer, timidly, walking closer to her, his glossy black shoes walking on dark red bricks. “You are grounded!”

Abaddon’s voice a sweet, but filled with attitude every time she talked, “What? You can’t do that!”

Pitch knew that this statement of her being grounded was said all the time as Abaddon was shaking her head like she heard this a million times.

“Watch me,” growled Lucifer, narrowing his eyes.

“Oh, I’m so scared,” Abaddon waved her hands up in defense, “Like you are going to throw me in the thirteen circles?”

Lucifer huffed, “I am so tired of your damn attitude, Abaddon.” He pointed to Pitch, “And why did you bring him? So I can skin another one of your men to entertain you?”

Pitch's eyes went a little wide as he directed back at Abaddon. He asked in disbelief. “You want him to skin me?”

“No,” scowled Abaddon. “Do you even know who he is?”

Lucifer said shortly, “Yes, high-ranking warlock.”

Abaddon taunted, “So you can’t kill him.”

Lucifer gave a considering look to Pitch, probably thinking about how many ways he could skin Pitch before he died, “Why did you bring him?”

Lucifer’s sister leaned against the warlock, “We need a doctor! The last doctor you killed was because you thought he was harassing me or some shit!”

Lucifer groaned, “We don’t need a doctor, Abaddon.”

Abaddon said, “Yes we do!” She danced around Pitch and stopped in front of him, “I’ve been watching him for a few days. You will like him, I promise!” She earnestly said, giving her eyes filled with pleading, “We need a doctor and you know it! He’s a retired doctor now doing his business helping out the magical creatures. He’s laid back and lonely!”

Lucifer sighed and pointed in the direction of the castle, “Go back to the castle.”

“But,” Abaddon started.

Lucifer snapped, “Now, Abaddon!”

Abaddon groaned in frustration, “I hate you!” She stormed off, Caliber right behind her.

Pitch stood there awkwardly, sifting his feet unsure what to do. What Abaddon said, that Lucifer couldn’t kill him, hopefully, she was right, “Your sister kinda dragged me into Hell.” Pitch’s eyes examined the Devil. Was Pitch talking in a disrespectful tone?

Lucifer flinched from his sister’s harsh words. He folded his arms across his chest. He was wearing his kingly outfit; his long eyelashes batted as he examined Pitch crossly, “First things first, Mr. Pitch.” He slightly growled, walking a circle around the warlock, studying all aspects of him, “Once my sister gets sick of you, she will move on. She always brings me men thinking somehow I will feel in love with them. Secondly, once she is done with you, I don’t want to see your face.”

Pitch wanted to ask, What, so you skin the men in a romantic way? His mind wasn’t thinking right as his legs nearly shook at Lucifer’s angry booming voice, “Okay, but if I stay here, how am I also going to watch my magical creatures?”

Lucifer sighed, still glaring an accusing look at him, “You will have a permanent portal into the earth to do your...things. But, don’t expect to be here long. After a few days, once she realizes she failed in not giving me a suitor, I wouldn’t be surprised she’ll go next to look for another one.” He turned around and started to walk away.

Pitch called out, “Wait, I don’t know where to go!” Nervousness wrecked inside of him, but there was a part of him that yearned for adventure.

Lucifer angled his head back at the warlock, “If you are going to live in Hell, you better catch up fast. Or my demons will eat you alive. Even with your pretty face, you won’t survive long.” He sighed, “But I guess you can follow me. Remember this, you are alive because if I killed you, my sister would break down in tears, and the last time she did that, she killed half my guards. Until she moved on, she care if you are alive or not.”

Pitch mused that his sister was a lot like him. She had anger issues like Lucifer, “Um, okay, then. Where do I start then? I will gladly assist you in any way.” This was true. The more Pitch thought of helping Lucifer’s demons and monsters, the more it grew on him. He could see himself working in as the doctor of Hell.

“I have a sick demon you can attend to while I’m in a meeting,” said Lucifer. “But, just because your a doctor, and the high warlock, doesn’t mean shit to me. You are like any other garbage my sister brings home, understand?”

Pitch nodded slowly, swallowing hard. He didn’t like being called garbage, but he had to manage to impress Lucifer if he wanted to stay here. “How many suitors has your sister brought so far?”

Lucifer snickered as they walked towards the castle, his demons casting their heads in respect as they passed them, “Too many to count.”

Great, somehow I’m going to have to manage to impress Lucifer differently. Pitch’s mind dreaded this, but in his heart, flattered excitedly.

The days past wonderfully and Pitch haven’t had his heart liven with happiness in decades as he tended to the demons and monsters. He had dinner with Lucifer and his sister. Pitch always speculated Lucifer as an awful brother to Abaddon, but as time passed, he saw Lucifer gingerly brush her cheek as he grumpily let he throw her parties or take a vacation on earth—with a girl bodyguard of her choice.

Abaddon stopped bringing suitors and winked at Lucifer every time they had dinner, making comments such as: “You know, Lucifer. Pitch is single…” Or, “Lucifer, maybe Pitch would be delighted if you took him out to dinner on your own.”

Although, there were times when Pitch’s skin jumped when Lucifer had an outrage every time his sister was kissing random demons in the hallway—definitely on purpose, trying to piss off her brother—which worked each time, since Lucifer was such uptight on everything she did.

When Abaddon dated some demons or monsters, Lucifer would narrow his eyes and observe them closely. Abaddon never touched Pitch, claiming that he belonged to Lucifer. There were some times when she threw wild tantrums and threatened to burn down Hell. Those days, Pitch's heart ached to love Lucifer when he tenderly cuddled his sister, rocking back and forth on the floor. He whispered soft words to her as she cried; and how she missed Michael and wished she would die.

Pitch’s magical creatures were ecstatic as he was working in Hell as a doctor. They were proud of him, sending him letters of what a good job he was doing. Pitch was delighted. He saw some days Lucifer making jokes here and there as they rode horses down the valleys and countryside of Hell alone, enjoying the blissful silence of their day of not being kingly or living up to a certain status to the villains. That’s when Pitch enjoyed Lucifer the most.

Pitch loved seeing Lucifer tickle Abaddon in the hallways as he jokingly told her that he will have to lock her away if any more demons tried to date her. Sometimes, when Lucifer would be pissed and turn on his Devil charming, the evilness that darkened the sky, and red eyes blazed on his face, Pitch would be more amused to watch. Usually, most of his demons would go into hiding, and whoever he was pissed at, was killed brutally. Then, in the throne room, when Lucifer and Abaddon had deep, silent conversations about who knows what; Pitch eavesdropped with a smile on his face.

Sadly, Thomas Pitch took those days for granted.
