Chapter 42: Rat

It's been three days since Azrael and Bianca arrived in the city that was under the Three Mountain Peaks Sect. They stayed here because of Bianca's pleading, she wanted after all to enjoy her time with him, not to mention that on this day there was an ongoing theatrical play.

"How about it, husband? Wanna watch it together like how we used to?"

"Gladly." Azrael  replied.

As always, their appearance and presence always caught the attention of the others, there were even some guys that tried to hit on Bianca but were taught a bitter lesson. After witnessing that, many retreated and threw their plans in the back of their minds.

"A seat for two." Bianca said.

"A seat for two." The counter confirmed as she counted the payment.

"Please enjoy the show."

Bianca and Azrael entered the Theater stadium that was made of durable and expensive wood and concrete. One could see the exquisite design in the frame of the giant door. There's a dragon, phoenix carving and masks that have different emotions. Inside the Theater, a dim and quiet atmosphere welcomed the two of them. And the seats were almost occupied by the expectant audience. Maybe it was the way of the people of the city to divert their attention from the war that may affect them.

This time Bianca lessened their presence, enough so that the people inside the theater wouldn't make any fuss and ruin their date.  Although she doubts that there will be any more bugs, she still did it for assurance.

Azrael couldn't help but chuckle at her action.

"What? Do you think that I'm petty?"

"Of course not, I just find it cute."

"C-cute, I see. Hehehe." Bianca gleefully said as her face flushed.

"You're that happy, huh."

"Of course, you rarely called me cute. Most of the time you are praising me as beautiful. Of course I would be happy."

"So you don't like being called beautiful."

"That's not what I meant. Hmmph." Bianca then held Azrael's hand. "Just this time, let me act a little bit childish."

"Anytime you want."

Hearing this sentence, a smile couldn't help but bloom on Bianca's face.

After the play finished, Bianca and Azrael exited the Theater Stadium and were walking in the street as the eyes gathered at them. At this time Bianca did not hide their presence anymore. They already planned to leave the city after watching the show.

In a street where varieties of people were walking, a two couple that stood out from the rest caught the attention of many. A couple that could only be described as immortal-like being that often appears at the fantasy books, be it looks and presence, one could confidently claim that they were in the higher plane. Strangely enough, no one seemed to approach them even though it was apparent to the eyes of men the desire to get the hands of the beautiful lady.

A seemingly ordinary middle-aged man wearing a hat made of straw, stopped his track as he turned his head towards the couple.

"A beauty." he muttered.

"You think so, right?  A man that accidentally heard what he said approached him, "But stop dreaming, that lady already rejected many men, not to mention that her husband was strong enough to protect her."

Although he felt sorry for his 'fellows', it couldn't be helped since the luck was on him for him to stumble upon this couple.

"Wait, where are they!?"

He looked around but couldn't find the couple. Then, he felt someone tapping his shoulder which terrified him. Immediately, he  used his movement skill and he reappeared several meters away from his former position.

He looked at the person who tapped him, the young man he was following, he saw him smiling which was not a smile. He looked around and couldn't see the lady, his purpose.

The young man then spoke, "I could understand if men tried to hit on my wife, she's a beauty after all, at the very least I could teach anyone who tried to approach her a bitter lesson. However, to have malicious intent and treat her as an object to be gifted. Are you perhaps asking to die horribly?" he asked in a calm yet terrifying manner.

At this moment the middle-aged man felt his body paralyzed and he couldn't move a single muscle.

[What's happening!? Why couldn't I move? I am at 9th Profound Sovereign Realm. Why!? No, More importantly why does he know my purpose?]

The young man instantly appeared in front of him, which scared him out of his wits. The young man pointed at him and touched his forehead using the index finger. The moment the index finger separated from his forehead, he felt an unimaginable pain that he felt in his entire life. A pain that couldn't be described by words.

[F**k! It looks like I am not the lucky one here but instead the unluckiest to meet this man!!!]

His vein popped out and his skin turned into a green color as it started to rot away the moment it came in contact with the wind. The stronger the wind, the more pain he felt and the more he rotted.

[Arghh!!]

He screamed in his mind as every wind blew, his flesh being eaten until his eyes were diluted of life and his lifeless body fell.

Azrael waved his hand and burned the dead body in front of him.

"A rat?" Bianca asked the moment she appeared near him.

"Un, a rat planted by some mere emperor."

"I see, sounds like a drama was about to be played."  Bianca then giggled.

Azrael only shook his head.
