Chapter 44: Immortal Reaper

"What a chaotic event."

A seemingly serene and audible voice echoed in the middle of the war between the Three Mountain Peaks Sect and Yang Blazing sect. A voice that was not loud yet able to resounded and overwhelmed the war cries and the screams that traveled across the battlefield.

A voice that was seemingly capable of calming a storm and stopping a raging flood. A carefree voice that didn't fit alongside the screams of pain and cries of warriors.

As if a signal, the two sects stopped fighting and clashing, all looked at the direction where the voice came from. What they saw there was a couple, endowed by beauty and charisma while emitting an otherworldly and immortal-like aura.

A scenery that formed a weird synergy with the current bloody and chaotic situation.

The battlefield entered in eerily silent state as if the war earlier was a lie and an act. A theatrical play with the purpose was to entertain its audience.

However the peace didn't last long when Sect Master Yang's voice boomed and woke the surroundings.

"Who are you two!?"

Azrael, who was scanning his surroundings with a calm smile on his face, turned his eyes towards the owner's voice.

"Us? Just a passerby." replied Azrael.

"Passerby, heh." A perverted smile formed on Sect Master Yang's face as he scrutinized Bianca up and down, he then touched his chin as he floated in the air. He looked down on Azrael as if a human looking at an ant. "I take that you are uninformed brats about the war and have lost their way here on the battlefield. With the earlier act of yours, interrupting this important war is a massive crime punishable by death! If you want to live, leave your woman as your bail for your crime and scar your face using those swords lying in the ground.. Heh, heh." Sect Master licked his dried and dark lips.

[What luck! To encounter such beauty! No matter what, I wouldn't let go of her. After this war, I will thoroughly enjoy her alongside with Graus female descendants, after that I will find the female who possessed the physique that I needed. Such bliss!]

Sect Master Yang's thoughts were interrupted by the disgusted voice of Sect Master Hill, "You are shameless and disgusting as ever! Stop making bullsh*t and dragging innocent people!"

"Stop poking your nose into my business! With that personality of yours, I bet you never taste woman in your entire life. You became a living fossil without even experiencing true bliss. What a tragic life you have! HAHAHAHA!" Sect Master Yang mocked.

"How about it? Do you accept my proposal? " Sect Master Yang completely ignored sect master Hill,

"What if I don't agree with your terms?"

"Is that so?" He then raised his hands, "Elders kill that young man and bring that woman to me. Who can accomplish this will be the next Vice Master."

With this sentence dropped, the elders immediately acted as if racing with time. They badly wanted the promotion.

"Elders of Three Mountain Peaks, stopped them!" ordered Sect Master Yang, no matter what he wouldn't let those elders from Yang Blazing Sect do such things in their front.

Other than the elders no one moved, disciples and protectors alike, didn't resume their battles and watched the events unfolding in their eyes.

On the other hand, the elders of the Three Mountain Peaks didn't hesitate before they acted. However before they reached their target something unbelievable happened. The people in the surroundings couldn't help but open their mouths agape.

Without even reaching 10 meters away from their original positions, the elders of Yang Blazing Sect stopped their tracks in unison, as if their body was paralyzed at the same time. Their body underwent a sudden transformation, their skin started to change into red in color, then a few seconds later, their body started to bloat. They bloated until their eyes, noses and mouths were buried by their bloated faces' flesh.

"What happened to them!?" Sect master Yang couldn't help squeal.

*Pop*

As if a balloon popped, a sound resounded alongside the elders bursting into bloody fog.

Everyone was panicked and stricken witnessing this.

"Hahaha, what happened? My tools, the foundation of my Yang Blazing Sect are gone, Hahaha." Sect Master Yang seemingly lost his mind.

On the other hand, Sect Master Hill gulped, thankfully the elders on his side didn't reach the positions of Yang Blazing Sect's Elders. He thought that there's anomaly in that area that caused the elders to explode.

"Initially I came here to settle things for Lian, however, with your earlier statement, I have more than enough reason to make you suffer."

"Y-you." Sect Master Yang turned his eyes to Azrael, "Was that your doing?"

Azrael smiled, "Gate of Death."

A giant and ominous gate materialized on the Sect Master Yang's back, in a seconds without him seeing it. It was made of unknown dark material. Two giant arm skeletons hold the right and left gate handles, the gate's frame was made of countless skulls with the top skull having its eye sockets glowing red, while the gate itself throbbed as if it was alive and had a heart.

The moment it appeared, the sky turned dark as dark clouds formed.

A gate that sent chills towards everyone's spine, it's mere appearance was enough to make many to peed on themselves. If not for Azrael's masterful control over it, this thing's presence would be enough to completely kill all of the mortal realms' populations and if he willed it the Divine Realm wouldn't be left unscratched.

The two giant arm skeletons opened their grips. The moment they opened their grips, the gate opened, instantly countless ghostly, gray, thin and long arms rushed out from it alongside with black and ominous smoke.

The countless arms grabbed Sect Master Yang's different body parts, he screamed in horror and pain as the arm's long nails stabbed and dug deeper on his flesh.His scream didn't last long in the battlefield as he was dragged inside the gate. There, he will be tortured and screamed for eternity.

With Azrael's thought, the Gate of Death closed and vanished, as if it didn't exist, and the sky returned to its former state.

Many fainted and all that was awake slumped on the ground because the scene earlier took every strength they have, the Sect Master Hill was no exception.

"Immortal Reaper" he muttered not only to him but the rest.

To their perspective, Azrael's appearance and aura was like an immortal descended from above, however, inside the immortal-like outward appearance, a monster, a reaper who can take lives in the most traumatizing way was hiding. Thus, gaining him the title Immortal Reaper.

In the midst of the scared surroundings, there's few who looked at him with awe and reverence. Including a young woman with a petite body, in this war she became known as Young Empress of the Yang Fire, Olive.

"A god." Olive involuntarily muttered in a small voice.

A thin and sickly looking old man opened his eyes from his meditation.

"Great Dao of Death. Is he here?" he muttered.

After thinking for a while, he just sighed and returned to his meditation.
