Before long, the car vanished from sight altogether. Freya scrutinized her surroundings as she walked. She was deep inside the mountain and she could hear strange sounds every now and then.
Since she was timid in nature, she took out her phone right away and called Ashley without hesitation.
“Ashley, I am on my way home to Ocean City from the old folks’ home at Mount Plenty. Are you free? Can you pick me up?”

“Uh huh, 1 am on my way. You were a real lifesaver earlier. Grandpa was talking to me about going matchmaking. He kept telling me to go and didn’t even give me the chance to say no.”
“Another matchmaking session?” Freya found it hilarious. It was already the 7th matchmaking session Ashley had attended this month.
Ashley complained as she drove. “Oh yes. I heard the guy is in finance. He has been working on Wall Street in America for years. Now, he owns a lot of shares for some company and is a major shareholder. I really don’t know what to say.”
“Since he is such an outstanding man, there’s no harm in meeting him. I am already married, but you don’t even have a boyfriend.”
“Why are you helping him?”
“Lam serious. Also, out of all your matchmaking prospects, this one sounds the best. He’s a perfect match for Ocean City’s top socialite.”
Ashley paused as she pondered the suggestion. Then, Freya heard a sneaky laugh. “In that case… why don’t you help me check him out?”
